The car is extremely  spacious ,aptly powered for usage in India. It has very good suspension for our road conditions. However as per their brochure, the ground clearance is 150 mm.I am afraid this may not suffice to take care of the loaded car over speed breakers. It only requires minor adjustment which Mahindra can easily take care.Overall an excellent car .

Ground clearance (unladen) is 172 mm which is more than Honda City, Verna etc. I have personally test driven the car without stoppage on humps and speed breakers without any hindrance.

in carwhale.com the cars ground clearence is given as 155mm only which is very less for indian roads,it would be better if m&m increases it.

Am curious to know about the mileage in city and long rides in GL 1.4 model. Prices looks pretty good.

  4. on 15 May, 2007 at 05:55 AM Prashant Kapadia

logan is still not launch in surat, but by the seeing the price on net, there is a price diff of 44000/- for only power steering which is too high, or else mahindra should bring base model with power steering itself may be little higher,
normally groung clearance unladen is specified and if that is 172mm then it would be comfortable on speed breakers and other roof roads of villages and during rainy season

your effort is good but please show the reviews of car experts.try to show that if there is any response from the company for these reviews as suggestion for increase in ground clearance is given

  6. on 24 May, 2007 at 09:10 AM Somnath

i think mahindra should launch another variant to plug the gap between the 1.4GLE & 1.6 petrol version as there are people who dont want to spend that much on the 1.6 yet feel the 1.4 is under equipped

  7. on 14 Jun, 2007 at 04:54 PM Jay

WOW LOGAN is very best car in price ,comfort, look, front look sexy but rear not good......in short ACCORDING TO ME LOGAN IS FAST MOOVING CAR ONLY IN 5 OR 6 MONTH'S. ONE WEEK POINT IS LOGAN'S ADD. R NOT SHOW IN TV, MAGAZINE, NEWS PAPER.

Mahindra has only 02-03 dealers in NCR. After sale service may be a problem. Company should think in this direction also.

When is Logan going to be available through CSD for defence personnel ?

  10. on 24 Aug, 2007 at 01:11 PM Ravi Kalepu

Can anyone post the mileage what its giving for GLS 1.6. I own it for the past 2 1/2 months and even after I service , it still gives me 10.5 km/l.

All Logan owners we will start a googlegroup and we can share our experiences there

  11. on 25 Aug, 2007 at 01:22 AM Sidharth Bhardhi (Mumbai)

ya the logan seems to b a good car for indian roads, but i think that the power is too less compared to verna diesel ,There is almost a difference of 45 bhp, renault should take care about this, it should not concentrate only on price,

  12. on 29 Aug, 2007 at 02:17 PM Gurkanwal Singh

please remember that verna costs 2 lacs more than logan.in that sense ,spend yet another 2 lacs and go for optra magnum ,best diesel power for 10lacs

Here comes the RTV of sedans. It looks good??!! It's the worst looking of all cars, after old Hyundai Santro. It's a 'dabba'! VFM for those who like the overall package - space and sedan at the lowest price. Best driven if carried with sheep and cattle inside! Why carry only 3 people on the rear, carry 5? You can, actually!!! No offenses!! Thanks!

I am planning to buy LOGON petrol version.which model is more fuel efficient? The car boot cannot be opened from inside.Ground clearance 155mm.

  15. on 18 Oct, 2007 at 11:17 AM Gurkanwal Singh

according to the recent ads the GROUND CLEARANCE STANDS REVISED TO 172 MM WHICH IS VERY GOOD, 1.4 is a bit more fuel efficient and has sufficient power.Boot needs to be opened so infrequently that you will not feel the pinch

  16. on 03 Nov, 2007 at 08:24 AM Balaji

Dicky horrible looks. Can mahindra learn to improve on asthetics. a flat blonde dickey ??? A/c vents should be of flat throw for better air displacement & equal throw. It does not appeal to be round vents/.

The Logan's ground clearence mentioned in the bronchure is minimum ground clearence measured when the vehicle is loaded fully. Actually it has more than enough.

  20. on 26 Nov, 2007 at 07:28 AM Saroj Mahapatra (Jamshedpur)

You are right with the indian road conditions and the road bumpers you do need a good road clearance.

How is the pickup of 1.4 GLX (petrol) when the vehicle is fully loaded with the luggage ?. Is there any power/pickup issue when AC is on and vehicle is fully loaded with luggage (especially 1.4 GLX petrol) ?

whats the real ground clearance in laden and unladen state?

  26. on 17 Dec, 2007 at 05:53 PM Saumitra Paul (Bangalore)

I bought my Logan DLS more than a month back, have done around 1900 Kms so far and happy with the performance so far. Suggestion here for all others, try to avoid comparing oranges to apples. And people who did not like the rear look, just fix a spoiler and you can see the look improves a great deal.

  27. on 28 Dec, 2007 at 07:34 PM S Roy

I am buying 1.6 GLS (petrol). The technical fellow at Durga Automobile in Delhi claimed that it gives around 12kms per lit in city ride with AC on. Can any body through some experience about the it

I am getting better milage than this for my car

  29. on 14 Jan, 2008 at 10:24 PM Debasish Chakravorty

This seems to be the only car which appealed to me in 10 years by the virtue of it's 'looks'. The pricing seems enticing. Can I get a better view on the mileage , the ground clearance seems ok by the look of it , do not think it can be as low as 155mm , thinking of buying one.

ground clearance now is 172 mm.which model are you looking at for purpose of milage

I am planning to go for the Logan petrol version. Which version would be more fuel efficient. What is the best milage in city and the highways roads. Thanks Saumitra for your suggestion about the spoiler. What about the sound proofing (noise when inside the car). What is the disadvantage that it has 2 valves per cylinder. How do u find the suspensions

Definitely not the best looking car but for those who want to extend their legs into a sedan with the money for a super mini its a good buy. 1.6L never gives good mileage, expect anything between 9-12kmpl.Service is gonna be a big question. TVS doesn't have good service reputation. In fact they could be blamed for the Fiat failures even thought they had great cars and don't forget about the Peugeot who started with something similar to Logan but ended up wrapping their plans in India.

I am planning to go for logan 1.4 petrol. is LPG compatible for logans engine which I plan after 10000km. Can any one comment on the millage both city and highway . Does LPG damage the engine on the long run.

pls tell me millage of 1.4petrol & whats disadvantage in logan

  39. on 11 Apr, 2008 at 03:38 PM Navin

Yes i totally agree "Its avalue for money Car"
Not the best sedan and why shd it be
Renault has the tech to make better cars but they have kept them at a later stage
they wish to start off with something most of us can afford.....
so here there objective and our objective is affordability
so people who want the car please buy it for its value...

  42. on 27 Jul, 2008 at 06:54 PM Asis_K

    Well its really tough.
As a car, Logan is better, we all know this.
But then after the recent developments that Mahindra wants to leave JV because Renault went to Bajaj for $3000 car, its clear that Mahindra is not interested in JV.

Just think that if really Mahindra leaves then, where will you go for service and maintenence?
So though Logan is a better car, it loses just as FIAT. A customer who is spending 5-5.5 Lakh will not want such an unpredictable future.

    now, dicide yourself.

I am planning to buy Logan Diesel.Performance of AC, Ground clearance, City and highway milage, Warranty and servicing schedules are the things I would like to know.

  45. on 21 Aug, 2008 at 05:34 PM Hari

I have Logan 1.6 petrol. Milage is 14 to 15 per litre. The pain points are vehicle body is not strong (press it on the top, metguards very delecate). big concern is ground clearence it sucks hits ground at most of the speed breakers. left/right indicaters has one display

  46. on 26 Aug, 2008 at 12:37 PM Suresh R

Can someone help to identify how best is Logan Diesel when compare to Swift diesel

hey guys wud logan be a better option or will hundai accent be a better option ???
i liked the looks of both but accet luks better.
i guess theres not much of a price diff between the two of them.so is it recommendable to go for accent??
wat abt ford fiesta ?? even that cums around 5 lakhs.
has ne1 compared these 3 ?(i.e accent, logan, fiesta?

  52. on 15 Oct, 2008 at 12:49 PM Gurkanwal Singh

Compared to Accent,Logan is far ahead in ride, handling, interior space, height etc and it is a newer product and it has better fuel efficiency.Accent is on the way out.Fiesta is priced much higher and is not VFM as compared to Logan.

I am a proud owner of a Logan DLE1.5 Diesel. I have already done 4K Kms in 2 months, 3K in city and 1K in highway and the experience is excellent. It delivers a 15Kms/Ltr within city and 20Kms/Ltr on the highway and I have been able to break the 140Km speed barrier comfortable without any issues. True, ground clearence is an issue but you need to drive carefully, that's what speed barriers are for. Some say that Logan is not a head turner but I have seen peeking while they walk past my car.

I have a Logan diesel 1.5 DLE. Iam facing problems witht the doors as well as the AC.The AC trips too often in the begining , which is quite uncomfortable in city driving. While the doors start grinding after every 20 -30 days. The car has to be sent to the service centre again and again. Can anyone update me on this
