Would be good if you can add comments on milage, service, spareparts availability, expertise with TATA motors for Fiat....I had a test drive but still on second thought because of the above factors. Otherwise...car is unbeatable...in the price segment.
PLease respond..have been waiting for the reviews on this model for last 4 days.

  2. on 19 Apr, 2007 at 11:14 AM Mk (Gurgaon)

I am getting 14-17 mileage including city/highway, spare-parts and services are available at tata authorised workshops, they treat the same as tata vehicle, so that's not issue....

  3. on 19 Apr, 2007 at 11:23 AM Ashish

    Hi Manoj,
I saw your message stating that you are getting 14-17 kms. Are you talking about the Stile or the old Palio(NV)? I have almost decided to go for the Stile.
    Ashish

  4. on 19 Apr, 2007 at 11:28 AM Mk (Gurgaon)

I am talking about Stile from my first thread to till this thread

  5. on 19 Apr, 2007 at 02:11 PM Raju (Bangalore)

    Manoj,
Thanks for the information. I am also talking about Stile SLE only. As per my understanding, the only two problems with this is
    1. Servicing + Spare parts : Thanks for encouraging feedback.

    2. Pickup while driving on AC on is less. You need to come down to lowest gear for a smooth run. That is the trade-off for the milage.

The milage seems to be very good...

Decided to join the Fiat Stile club....

Thanks a lot to all of the Fiat Palio(Old & New) users for their encouraging reviews on old Palio and the new one (Stile).

Here is one more member to join the Stile club....

    Rao,
Pick up with AC- issue also reside in B segment car (esteem, esteem+ as well) so thats can sort out if you go bit high price car. Every customer has predefined budget when he/she go to buy car, thats completely depend on the budget and the expectations
    Thanks

  8. on 21 Apr, 2007 at 11:15 AM Rakesh (Bangalore)

I am planning to buy Palio Stile SLE. I am impressed by mileage figures and security features. But still not convinced with servicing and spare parts.

  9. on 22 Apr, 2007 at 04:06 PM Amol Pavaskar (Pune)

    Hi All,

I checked the car, looks good from the outside, but it seems Fiat has compromised on the quality of interiors, the paint quality is also not good.

    Amol

  10. on 23 Apr, 2007 at 12:39 PM Mk (Gurgaon)

    Hey Amol,
Have you looked the car paint yourself or just assuming yourself by any digital picture or other source, I dont believe this..I have and its good

  12. on 23 Apr, 2007 at 02:09 PM Amitava Bandyopadhyay (Kolkata)

In spite of searching dealers and servicing facilities in the fiat india website and also the price of the vehicle at Bhubaneswar,I could not get it.Any one who knows may please inform.

  13. on 24 Apr, 2007 at 10:56 AM Vijay

I bought Palio stile in Blore, I feel it is value for money, I like the stile style, Interiors, shape, everthing uncomparable with available same price cars, Yet to check about mileage, I hope this will be better compare to previous palio.

  14. on 24 Apr, 2007 at 02:03 PM Mk (Gurgaon)

Hey Amitava, look on the net for Tata service centres for your city,am definately sure your city will have a TATA service & spare part centre.

    Thanks
    Manoj

  15. on 24 Apr, 2007 at 02:46 PM Kishore Chittilla (Pune)

    Hey Monoj,
The new stile Bhp is reduced to 57 from 72 and this new vehical is 1.1 L compared to old 1.2L engine. The sales guys are promoting that even though the BHP is 57 that will be provided at low rpm 2750 so dont need to worry about the Pick up.Was it true?
And How is the leg space for rear seat passengers?

    Thanks,
    Kishore.

  16. on 24 Apr, 2007 at 02:58 PM Mk (Gurgaon)

Hey Guys!!! find the service network at this link: if some body looking out the service center in your city.

    Hi,

Any idea how the 1.6 ltr sport is? I would naturally expect its mileage to be on the lower side than the 1.1 ltr one but apart from it how is the performance and ride?

  18. on 24 Apr, 2007 at 03:02 PM Mk (Gurgaon)

    Hi Kishore,
More BHP means more power expected from the engine, low rpm means low noise, less maintaince, smooth driving and definately good mileage. Pick up with AC is not very good but at this price, its affordable.

    Thanks

  19. on 24 Apr, 2007 at 03:07 PM Mk (Gurgaon)

    Jayant,
1.6 ltr sports is lowend mileage but it's performance....!!! Amazing. I drove both model when I bought Slx model..
I might have bought Sports model but did not have enough budget and have to run daily 40-50 KMs so unable to afford it as well in terms of daily fuelling. average mileage SR told me 11-13KM

  20. on 24 Apr, 2007 at 03:12 PM Jayant

    Thanks Manoj!
Appreciate your quick response and congrats on a great buy...

    Hi,
Why not FIAT is hesitant to introduce their superior multi jet 1.3 l engine in Stile ?

    Thampi

  26. on 26 Apr, 2007 at 05:49 PM Mk (Gurgaon)

    Thampi,

You should ask this question to FIAT Sales Director, I am not the right person to answer this question.

    Thanks

  27. on 27 Apr, 2007 at 02:09 PM Ravi Ramdas

Hi...I have seen evry1 talking about the performance, style, mileage etc. But no1 has talkd about the Build quality...The old palio was built like a tank...so solid..
I wud like to know whether the new stile has kept up in this department...

  28. on 27 Apr, 2007 at 07:51 PM Mk (Gurgaon)

    Hey Ravi,
You can get the better figure by body weightage comparing with old and new one. the new stile data available on http://www.fiat-india.com/ then you can reach to build quality. I did not drive the old palio so unable to suggest you the best build up among the twos.
    Thanks

  29. on 28 Apr, 2007 at 10:25 PM Amrut Sulakhe

    Hi Manoj,
    Congrats!!
i am also planning to by Palio stile. I had a test drive yesterday but found that with the AC on the pick up really drops down.
Do you think that the fiat palio will have a gud resale value?...

    Amrut S.(mumbai)

  30. on 29 Apr, 2007 at 04:22 PM Abhi 10-10-1994

To make mega sucess of Palio stile company has to work with his old dealer network and immediately introduce with uncompareable multijet diesel technology which is speciality of FIAT it would be Dhoom and necessity of economic (diesel) fuel vehicle.

  31. on 30 Apr, 2007 at 10:05 AM Mk (Gurgaon)

    Hi Amrut Sulakhe,
Re-Sale value of Stile would not be great as maruti range has occupied this cell,I have seen most of the cases (would say > 70%) recommened maruti second hand car instead of other brand.
You can utilize your car only at exchange this would give you good price.

  32. on 30 Apr, 2007 at 10:08 AM Mk (Gurgaon)

    Mr. anonymous,

You are absolutly right, the mutlijet diesel engine would take on fiat diesel segment %age in market, but its not finally planned when they are going to launch this engine. but sure this would be available in market in next 18 months.

  33. on 30 Apr, 2007 at 02:27 PM Bhushan (Bangalore)

As 1.3litre engine would attract higher excise duty i guess the company has decided to have 2 options:
    1. 1.1 litre
    2. 1.6 litre

If i am not wrong 1.3 multi-jet is as yet not manufactured in India. Currently only Maruti is usuing this tech (funnily taken from FIAT only).

  34. on 30 Apr, 2007 at 05:22 PM Mk (Gurgaon)

whatever be the appreciation of Palio Stile is going on here, but i have never seen another palio on gurgaon roads. I surprised how ppl think of it.

How are the suspensions? I just heard negatives from a friend about it. Would you like to comment on it?

    Hi Manoj,
I am simply in love with the car for its exteriors and features .(Tubless tyres, door handles like in seadan segment ... i am talkin abt SLX version)
    I just have two question...
    1. I took a testdrive in city only so could not judge the power of the car... can you please tell how it handles on highways??
    2. interiar in front was a bit cramped.. i dont know why... (may be becaquse of less height compaired to Wagon R and Estilo).Door side place where controls for power windows are

  39. on 14 May, 2007 at 11:16 AM Mk (Gurgaon)

    Hi Omkar,
the highway driving of this car is pretty nice as compared to maruti comptetive segment of this car. But I would recommend take another test drive and take the car on Highway and judge yourself instead to belive on third party.
    Bye
    Manoj

    Sri,Mangalore
Hii.I saw the new plaio stile definatly breathtaking as far as the looks is concerned but the power of 57 BHP is still not gr8 for FIAT coz other cars like wagonR estilo &santro comes with a powerful 65 BHP.But tell u what pple looking for a 5 seater wid enuf space around shud better goo for itt otherwise change thier mind and goo 2 maruti wagonR or estilo.coz these 2 cars comes wid electric adjust mirrors and keyless entry in top end VXi.whereas these are not ther in stile SL

  41. on 20 May, 2007 at 11:21 PM Neel Patil

Though your car may be good value for money , I think people should not buy it. FIAT thinks we Indians don't deserve ggod cars. That is the reason why they do not introduce their latest and good tech cars in india. i find no reason for delay in launch of grande punto or introducing multi jet fuel tech for palio. FIAt thinks this a good dumping ground for their old tech cars.that is reason why they brought in uno when it was on its way out in Europe. Look out Maruti swift was launched simultaneo

  42. on 21 May, 2007 at 09:58 AM Amit

    Hi Srini,
Did you buy the palio stile. I have also decided to go for it.
And did you find any other stile on bangalore roads.. I havent still been able to ;)

Any Palio Stile 1.1 owner in bangalore? Please let me know....

  44. on 22 May, 2007 at 01:26 PM Sp

The tata showrooms have only the 1.1 ltr version of the palio. Does anyone know when is the new stile 1.6 will be available in the showrooms. I am from Bangalore and none of the dealers here have any idea about the launch of 1.6 ltr version.

I am considering a Palio 1.6 Sport but from Fiat India's website I see only 1 dealer/service centre in NCR region (Dhingra Motors in Gurgaon). This is a serious concern. Any has a clue if this website data is indeed correct?

    Hi Manoj,

I am a die hard fan of Fiat and driving Palio Dlx for the past 6 monts in Gurgaon. Fiat has miles to go before being taken seriously by the customers in India, this is despite the fact that they are one of the finest automobile companies around the world is a pity..

    Manoj,
how about Fiat Palio NV 1.2 Sport...

  56. on 09 Jul, 2007 at 07:05 PM Nirav.Shah

Excellent car. Unless you want to race, pickup is ok for city as you can not drive faster in bangalore. once you are on gear 3+ it just runs smooth and no issue on highway at all. Good space, Good looking. Good security feature, Fiat engine which no other car in this price range can give. I am extremly happy with car. I need to still check on milage though.

  57. on 10 Jul, 2007 at 10:09 AM Rahul

    Dear Manoj,
I am planning to buy Palio Stile SLX. Could you please provide me inputs related to certain aspects like overall performance, mileage and after-sales service. Have liked the car , but am apprehensive about Fiat. So , am confused between Palio and Santro. Your inputs will be of great help.

  58. on 10 Jul, 2007 at 06:30 PM Nirav.Shah

Go for it. Far better than Santro in all aspect. I checked my milage after first 200KM and i got 12. Lots of space. Solid Build. Good looking. milage i am sure will improve after 1st service. I dorve all my 200KM in bangalore city traffic.

  59. on 12 Jul, 2007 at 09:32 AM Rahul

    Hi Nirav,
Thanks for the information. COuld you please mail across your contact details on rahulkk@techmahindra.com so that i can get some additional info from you bt the car?

  62. on 20 Jul, 2007 at 12:59 PM Manoj Nair (Bangalore)

    Hi All,

I have spent lot of hours in internet reading reviews of various cars right Chevy's UVA to Getz. As there is lot of options I was confused, took some friends of mine who are hyundai's fans. They gave a negative feedback. After reading this review I have made up my mind to buy Palio Stile SLX. Guys You get a fully loaded car with the starting price tag of other cars base model. Hence compramising on pickup is a viable decision.

    Manoj Nair

  63. on 20 Jul, 2007 at 03:14 PM Nirav.Shah

I agree. Car is value for money. I have 1.1 SLX and no regrate. except power everything else is comparable with swift and getz for much less and if you want power you have 1.6 sport which is still cheaper than other competitor. My dealer gave me cash dis of 20th + remote central locking + sun filming and other basics. Car is value for money.

  64. on 25 Jul, 2007 at 03:22 PM Suresh

    Hi Nirav Shah
Where are you from. From which dealer did you get this discount?

  65. on 27 Jul, 2007 at 03:16 PM Mk (Gurgaon)

    Hi Suresh,
If you are looking for discount and the full range of Palio Stile including Sport model then go to Dhingra Motors, New Delhi Road Gurgaon. They are offering huge discount on Palio as well as on each Tata Car. I have seen the discount on Palio Stile is approx. 60,000+.
and FYI..Dhingra Motors is not brother's company. just social service :-) all the best.

  66. on 06 Aug, 2007 at 02:31 PM Vikas (New Delhi)

Hi Manoj: This is Vikas, I have Palio 1.2 NV. Since you are from Gurgaon, can you suggest, is it good to get service from Dhingra Motors

  67. on 08 Aug, 2007 at 04:39 PM Mk (Gurgaon)

Hey Vikas, the service is not up to mark. My friend got repaired his safari thrice time but go the same problem each time. But I would suggest you go there personally and get serviced your car in front of you. Observe the problem if there before taking delivery and then pay the amount for that.

  68. on 09 Aug, 2007 at 11:52 AM Vikas (New Delhi)

Thanks Dear, Actually this will be second service of my vehicle, it's just 7 months old (3200km).

    Hi All,

Its a fact that the new Palio Stile 1.1 is under power but how badly it affects the drive quality ?. Heard that you need to rev the engine more frequently (esp when u overtake other vehicles.
So with 5 passengers and full boot how does this beauty perform on highways....?

  72. on 18 Aug, 2007 at 12:25 PM Jipee

    helo all,
Am interested in buying a STILE. A final word from the owners.. from your experience. ye i know it wont be of a significant period.... but what so ever... please....

  74. on 19 Sep, 2007 at 06:24 PM Apurva Adhvaryu

    Hi Everyone!

Really interesting to read the comments on Stile. But I have following questions...request to answer who owns the car.

    1) How is the gear shifting?
    2) How is the cooling of the car?
    3) Is the car too underpowered?
    4) How does it perform in city heavy traffic?
    5) How do you correlate car's underpower and city traffic?
    6) How is sales after service and spare-parts availability?

    Looking for unbiased reply..

    Thanking You..

  75. on 25 Sep, 2007 at 07:56 PM Klever Klever (Chennai)

    1) Excellent!!
    2) It's good.
    3) It definitely is underpowered.
    4) It's the best for city conditions. This car is one of the most underrated cars.
    5) With the A/C on, you will find it underpowered (Which car in this segment doesn't??)but you should have a smooth drive in the traffic.
    6) Tata is steadily improving in it's after sales services but it has a long way to go before it can be compared with Maruti.Resale value of palio's is pathetic:(

    Hi All,
Good to feel to see the review of Palio Style.
I am bit confused b/w Indica Xeta(GLS) & Palio Style 1.1 SL in terms of Average , Maintenance, Comfort, Resale of the car. Expecting comments from the owner of palio style. From - Ankit

HI everybody. I am having Fiat Palio 1.2 EL since 2001.I am getting excellant pick-up and decent mileage of 14km/l on both city and highway. I am extremely happy. This car very heavy but road grip is excellant ob Highways. I feel Fiat should have reduced BHP of 1.2 to about 65+ and increased mileage. There is no comparision of 1.2 with any car in this segment. I can say that I am proud owener of 1.2 Enen my car is having only AC and nothing else.

    Hi All,
I have bought Palio Stile 1.1L SLX around August 1st week 2007, so far driven 4500KM on highways only, Nice Car.
This car is good value for money, comfort on highways for driver, front seater and back seater, good boot space even in back seats together with front seats for taller persons (6 feet), very less jerks at bad road conditions.
    more Luggage space
Good control at high speeds, Mileage ~ 16-17KM
    Thanks - Vasu

I am planning to buy a stile SLX. The underrated power is a much talked point .Is that a major issue? Other wise car is value for money.

Hi All Fiat Palio users, any one interested in purchasing the palio, in Bangalore. please call this sales executive on this number 09986266254

Fiat Palio stile SL, driven 660kms, and indicates a FE of 16.4kmpl with 5 ppl all time and in semi-urban non-highway road. very comfortable (unparalleled), cannot expct xing and wgn R to deliver this most important Customer requirement. Wgn R and even Santro is actually 4 seater with 5 seat belts. so FE would work out per capita wise to the palio. other thing, we have no scope to drive the three from Bglr-Delhi full throttle on straight stretch. even if so, Palio arrives just 6hrs late in 24hrs

Hi, whats the experience in cost of service, cost of spares comparatively?

  87. on 14 Jan, 2008 at 02:02 PM Rohit

Palio multijet is displayed in auto-expo delhi. I had a talk with sales manager there and came to know that fiat is launching palio stile with 1.3 litre multijet engine in march, 2008. ex-showroom price delhi 4.75 lacs.

Fiat Punto is also on display and though looks are always subjective yet i must say that palio stile looks better than punto.

a 58bhp engine disappoints those looking for equal engine power status with their friends and owners of the Santro (engine 63bhp), Wagon R (engine 64bhp), Spark (63bhp), all weighing between 810-860kg – and down on the minds of Palio owners, since the latter’s weight does ‘bear’ down on the engine performance.

Even switching off the AC and downshifting to lower gears do not seem to work for those negotiating overtaking maneuvers in city streets, with the only alternative being passing slow-moving, lumbering heavy vehicles like a truck or more realistically, the agricultural Indian vehicle – the bullock cart. On a more serious note though, keeping your cool may well be a real task with having to compromise between keeping the AC on or moving ahead of other cars.

if u are a family of 4 only, then I bet maruti 800/Alto is the best option that these are much cheaper & give the same power as palio 1.1. Though Palio would offer you a more tougher body, bigger seating space & bigger boot space, provided you are ready to spend more on price & get less mileage.
If you r a family of 5, Palio is a good option, only if you are a very patient person & are ready to compromise on power, which I suggest is very very very low.

Eshu, weren't you upset with the pick up of Palio 1.1 when you own 1.2, which has more power, BHP & Torque???

    Hi Manoj,

I am also from Gurgaon and planning to buy a new Palio SLE/SLX also, I have these queries:

What is status of pickup after these many months of run, does it reduced or is same as earlier.
What is the FE you are getting these days in Gurgaon City/Highway (AC on)
How is the service provided by tata-fiat dealer after these many days
How about the availability of spares, did you faced any problem till date
Are the spares costlier than other make, or the difference is smaller
    Wha

    Hi Manoj

I have almost decided to buy Palio Stile 1.1SLX, The car looks attractive and your review has cleared lot of doubts. Just My Friends who own Maruti said that the spare parts are too expensive and difficult to get. Can you please give your opinion on this

  104. on 24 Sep, 2008 at 06:54 PM Ramana.Mohanbabu

    Hi mukul

the fact is not about comparing spare parts of FIAT with Maruthi...compare parts of TATA indica vs Fiat u will observe 15% more on FIAT!!!

  105. on 09 Oct, 2008 at 12:44 PM Satyajit Awale (Mumbai)

Help me bros ! After spending a LOT OF TIME, have narrowed it down to Palio Stile 1.1SLX or Vista Aqua 1.2Safire.
Need some expert opinions on which one to go for.
    I need ..
    1. Comfort spacious legroom back seat boot space
    2. Safety 3. Fuel economy 4. Not too hung up on power speed etc. 5. Budget is around 4 lacs - want value for money 6. presently drive about 40-45 km/day in mumbai (30 highway / 10 city)
Are the 2 cars good choices?? Is there any other in that price range eg i10 etc.

  106. on 07 Dec, 2008 at 07:31 PM Mithilesh (Gurgaon)

I am too confused with the comments . I am working in sheet metal welding industry and feel the body is no doubt a stout one but as for as spare availability and cost is concerned , it's mine concerned point as well. With AC ,performance of Wagon-R, Zen Estilo is better than any other car for the same segment. The look is far better than any other mid segment car

    Hi All,

I have been looking for a car which is between 3 to 3.5 lacs in Delhi. Since, I have 3 options: either to go for ALTO,STILE and SPARK. Please suggest which car should I go for.. Iam interested in Palio however iam frightened in terms of spares and service…and moreover I believe stile has low mileage.. I would like to know the review from the one who is already using Stile for a long period..
