The Versa is a good choice. My Versa DX2 is running well and proving to be a utilitarian cut above a typical small or mid-size car. It is a class vehicle for city use – very good gear ratios. The engine has very good power, even with big load and the AC is very good. However, its mileage is a bit lower and the ‘look’ is unimpressive – in fact, a bit ‘blunt’. Still, Versa has quite a few ‘scores’ over others like being a ‘true family car with higher seating capacity’, comfortable spacing and the ‘secured’ feeling of a tall & wide, sturdy vehicle. I really wonder why this car is so uncommon to see on road!

Versa is an ideal vehicle to accommodate at least 8 persons. The vehicle appears big. However, it is just a few inches longer than a Zen or a ‘B’ segment car. It is big from inside and small from outside. The turning radius is very small. Driving and parking in traffic is not difficult. It is a car, it is a MUV. In all respects, it is great.

    Dear Sir,
While agree the merits of the VERSA I don't see much of the population this car / van from Maruti. I have an apprehension whether the Parts will be very costly. One of my frieds is constantly asking my view on this vehicle. please advise.

    thanks

    Dear Friend,

    Thanks for your posting.
Originally, Versa was a clone of Suzuki's Every (Landy/Carry) and the Japanese spares (SGPs) content in Versa was quite high and expensive compared to other Maruti models. But today majority of Versa parts are MGPs and NOT prohibitively costly. The only catch is that not all Maruti workshops have a ready stock of certain Versa spares due to its low volume on roads. However, this should not stop one from buying a Versa.
    Regards.

at 62,000km my versa needs a fresh change of tyres. planning to go in for 165R13 michelin's tubeless tyres. any suggestions. mainly plan to use it for highway intercity driving. stability and safety prime concern.
The headlights are one of the sore points for such a fantastic MUV. Like having an F-16 with a blind fold. suggestions...suggestions...

I HAVE BEEN USING OMNI SO FAR. SINCE IA 6'3'' TALLER AND HAVE MORE FAMILY MEMBERS I WAS USING OMNI. NOW SHALL I GO FOR VERSA? WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF VERSA THAN OMNI? WHETHER VERSA IS HAVING SPACE FOR KEEPING LUGGAGES AFTER 8 PERSONS SIT INSIDE? KINDLY ADVISE.

Gear ratio is good, good space, pick up is good.
Clutch is too hard like Diesel engine, spare parts are rare, Frequent & costly maintenance for sliding doors.
I have Versa from Aug 2004, driven 90,000kms. I like it very much but due to clutch problem you can,t drive it much longer

My Versa has done 55000 kms in last 3 years. Its the best vehicle for the person who loves his family. No problem vehicle. only fill the fuel & keep on driving. On the confidence of the Versa I have travelled to whole of Gujaat, Karnataka from Pune. The problem is once u r addicted by this vehicle, then u can't think to be without it. Best vehicle & has no alternative.
