The new A -Star is ALTO looking, but dull on interior space.

Only 4  puny adults can sit, but not very comfortably.

The car is not worth the price.  The boot is very very small and is very high. Not suited for tall riders.

I agrre with you. Also the visibility from inside is so poor that i doubt the capability of the designer team of Maruti. The front sitting passangers would have a tough time for a good view.

The rear seat passengers will have a tough time if the ac is not on.. the window is too small and ill shaped.

it has more features than the i10 which is costs about the same. I bet its even more fuel efficient, thats all i have for the defense of the a-star otherwise i think i10 is better.

Buy Hyundai Santro, after review of I10 and A-star, always go for vehicle that is tested and proved in road, fuel effic, maintenance, etc.

Better buy Santro or i10; AStar not at all worth the price with cramped seating

A STAR has a very small boot space. That is its main drawback and it is meant for youngsters and executives for office going only and not for the families. Otherwise, its a good car and is comparable with i10 Magna.

A star is definatly a winner against i10,i10 looks bad in shape and doesnot looks like a sporty guy,its looks like a Halwai with fat tummy..beige interior looks just like an dull carpet with no accessory and charm,,,pick up of A star is awesome ..good for 2 couple for long drieve as well for city drive...go for A star it roacks,,,i have booked this on yesterday after 2 months of regress test drieve and review...

  13. on 27 Feb, 2009 at 08:43 PM Ankur Virmani (Faridabad)

Absolutly wrong..... adjust the seat according to the driver and then sit behind.... dont just blindly without even taking a test drive....

  14. on 08 Mar, 2009 at 01:21 PM Ajay

Anybody please tell me the waiting period for A-star.

  15. on 25 Mar, 2009 at 09:01 PM Ravi Srivastav (Hissar)

Well A Star has pretty looks and if only one has taken test drive you can feel its actually offers a lot than any other comaparable options. i10 is it's nearest competitor but it cost much with downclass interiors. For this price segment one feels milage and service will always score with probable owners go for it!

this car is very good to look.and more over this car is very comfortable to seat.... but the disadvantage is that it is very costly than its power....only 998cc..and 3 stroke cylinder....

hi, everyone can have a different opinions but at allways a star is better than maruti 800 which is a dramatic hit in past i dont think astar is anyways lesser than m-800 in all its features.

  18. on 24 Jun, 2009 at 12:48 PM Aaron Fernandes (Nashik)

Good car, but at the end of the day, its always good to test drive and find it out ourselves.

  19. on 11 Aug, 2009 at 05:56 PM Manish (Thrissur)

It's a good car, except AC , Air condition of the car is not up to the mark. Pick up is very good. Having good braking system. Fuel efficiency , it gives 13-15 in city and 18 for long drive. I am happy and it will click in the market...

hi, I want to buy this range car. can anybody suggest me. i got the test drive of A-star its fantastic, mileage is too good. good pick up also. what about spark?

  22. on 09 Sep, 2009 at 11:13 PM Autoraj

I own this car and iam very happy with its performance. If i have to compare this car (Vxi) with i10 (Era 1.1L) then it is a better car because: 1) all power windows integrated sterio, i10 have only 2 power windows (2) fuel economical (3) Better and economical Service. Dual Toned Interior is better than i10 monotonous beige color. For me and my wife it is sufficient with lots of space in the front seats

  23. on 09 Sep, 2009 at 11:37 PM Autoraj

@anonymous spark doesn't come close to A-star. A-star is simply awesome

  24. on 11 Sep, 2009 at 12:21 AM Pratap Misra

If somebody is only fuel consus then pl buy A-Star. When you are spending Rs.4 Lakh then just think about the following for your future 7-8 years or otherwise you will have to repend a lot. a) Built Quality b)Engine Power c)Engine Reputation d)Quality of Interiors e)Space is an import factor f)Service reputation.
I think Hyundai i-10 and Getz Prime 1.1 is far far better option.

  25. on 14 Sep, 2009 at 06:53 PM Anandal007

This car is really a superb one dono why all are talking too much about the boot space for a city car.

  26. on 30 Sep, 2009 at 08:34 AM Pritpal Singh (Chandigarh)

this review seems to have been sponsored by Maruti's rivals/ competitors.

  27. on 03 Oct, 2009 at 03:05 PM Suresh (Trivandrum)

Leg space and boot space are points to be considered.A Star is one with bigger dimensions in length and width than Alto-Then why lesser leg space and boot space - failure in interior design.

  28. on 19 Oct, 2009 at 03:16 PM Nirmalya Banerjee (Kolkata)

A-Star is having the best power and pick up in its segement, even much better than Santro/i10/Wagon R etc, with better fuel economy. Front sitting is good, but rear seating and boot space is not spacious. Handling is good but over 120km/h it vibrates and trambles.

  29. on 20 Oct, 2009 at 10:21 AM Rachhpal (Gurgaon)

I dont know how mr. vasant u r comparing it with alto.I tjink u knows nothing abt automobiles.Becoz alto has 800 cc engine while astar with 998 cc.And engine power (67 bhp) is not comparable with (43 bhp)Alto.More over ground clearance, bigger tyres ,high torque at low RPM and vichicle width is best in this catageory and evev better than i10 etc.N one more advantage of fuel economy astar is giving 21km/li(highway) as compare to 19 km/li of Alto. I dont know on what basis u r comarin it wid alt

a-star is the best for me, 5'5"height, and my wife with three kids. nice looking, small car for duty in the city.
