Does Maruthi really want to have business!!
The new A -Star is good looking, but dumb on interior space.
Only 4 adults can sit, but not very comfortably. Still if you think you can manage,
the car is not worth the price. Its just too high, may be Euro 4 or 5(as the salesman put it).

But should really admire the exteriors, specially the rear. Its got the guts to stand up n say,
here i am - take a look at me. But the interior & the luggage space throws you out of the car,
especially the back seat does not have enough leg space. Even when you enter the drivers seat,
you will hit the steering wheel, even for a person of height 5'10".

The car has been placed too aggressively in market competing with i10, without forethought.

Reduce the price to 3.7-3.8(Vxi onroad), the car will be a huge succcess or else work on the spacing.
The car ultimately is a dissapointment for a buyer like me, but for an onlooker its good.
No one is even ready to finance, even if they, cost is 14% HDFC & 15% ICICI.

Well the above are my initial comments. Next day i had a chance to test drive the car. Here are the observations after driving 18km on a highway in bangalore.

I drove a ZXi Version.
1.Cramped leg space.
2. Initial pickup was smooth.
3. Gear Shifting was good, but the gear stick looks weird like in a toy car.
4. The location of the audio system is ergonomic & a person can see the display verywell from his seat level.
5. Drove at a Max speed of 160km/Hr - Awesome.
6. Car is small, but game car. Smooth Handling.
7. Good Aerodesign car.
8. Quality or Performance of ABS is good at high speed.
9. Audio quality was satisfactory.
10. Weird backlight on Odometer (personal feeling).
11. Good digital Display.
12 Very low Head space, we banged our heads when there was immediate badroad - Highly risky.
13. Small but powerfull.
14. Electronic Power Steering - Safe & no energy drop.
15. Overall a good experience. But long journeys in cramped environment - God save us.
16. Shocks not effective at high speeds.
17. Overall a good City car.(office n Home - no lugguage)
18. The rear seat experience was not bad as i earlier thought. but it could have been much better.
19. Well if people can accept this much they can surely buy this car, but let the engine prove itself for the mileage & troubles.

So. Keep your hopes up & its worth a wait to confirm the engines performance.

i feel personaly that a star is a good as a secondary car for some routine day to day jobs and for the kind of traffic we have...

remember that secondary here doesnt mean unimportant...
its been an year since i have the sx4 zxi...i dont have ne problem with the vehicle except the fact that you need to be very careful of the traffic that swirls left and right when you driving straight....people have a habit of brushing big cars...

I am really confused now with reading all the reviews. I had a plan to buy Astar, but after reading somany reviews posted by different persons in different websites I am thinking to revise my decision. Different people have different opinion about this car. I really concerned on the Mileage that may get for this vehicle on the city and highways. If somebody could help me to understand better about the fuel efficiency of this car, it will be really great.
