I was very much tempted to test drive the U-VA and write a review of it here at carwale.com ;-) Finally got my hands on Chevy U-VA this afternoon. After driving it, I have mixed feelings. Drive was not very short, drove it for almost 30 kms which included normal to heavy city traffic and highway too.

City drive was good, even in heavy city traffic it was giving a confident feeling despite of the fact that it has got 1.2L engine. Engine couldn't give promising feeling on highway though. Car was out of breathe when it was crossing 100 kmph mark. NVH factors are very good and car is very silent from inside, there were virtually no vibrations.

Looks are good, especially from side. I didn't like the fascia though. U-VA has got numerous space inside, boot is sufficient too. Interiors look average. Features set is average too.

Car is from GM, so maintenance would be costly, resale won't be great. Price is too high for what they are offering. Overall a nice car for city drive. Better and cheaper option would be Swift. Getz can be considered too if you are looking for space.

    Hi Rajeev Kumar,

Your review of UV-A indeed is informative and crystal clear on its performance. Was almost bent on UVA. Now I look at Getz Prime

    Thanks

when i drove it n highway, i actually got more impressed by the stability and smoothnes of the car and engine. I reached to 95km/h but the way it behaved i dont think it will be out of breath over 100.

I still do not own any car or even know how to drive one however I feel any European make car would be costly to maintain in Indian road and climatic conditions. Best bet would be to look out for a Japan make car like suzuki, honda or toyota for that matter as they are the most preferred hybrid cars around the world today.

i totally disagreed with ur findings...i have driven UVA around 500 kms...and found very cool car.....i reached 110 km, didnt get any problem...and one more thing abt spare parts...its same as other cars...not costly...and abt resale value...i had contacted more than 5 GM dealers...all said that, nobody approached them for selling their cars....

As far as the price goes, I think the Swift is much costlier for lesser features offered.

I too agree with Rajiv...The car super cool...although i find it lil lacking in terms of pickup and the very old same boring grey interiors...that it...Else the ride quality is amazing!!after all it a chevy my frnd!

After having the test drive, I also agree with Rajeev, this car is very sound, amazing road grip, very much stable, and response is not bad in city. But when driving it in highway, it really struggles for pick up at top end runs out of breath at 100 Kmph and I couldn't make it run beyond 120 Kmph.

CHEVROLET Cars have spare parts cost which is the least in the Indian Market. Mr.Rajeev Kumar please correct yourself stating the GM vehicles have the highest maintenance cost.

    hi,
    i liked this comment...
"u-va&spark!!!it sucks....gm cheating with old technology with just 8-valve(sohc) engine.even m800 has 16-valve latest technology." accorging to me GM/Chevy selling scrap from europe (like logan) electrical, exhustpipe etc. r positioned for left-hand driven cars look it carefully baned at eu selling in india.
    but i favour new 16v,dohc,new engine advanced-best for city & highway. reasons:more mileage & ps+a.c+v.lowcost 2maintain+high torque...you canask any expert.

I am using UVA, if anyone dares speaks any thing bad against this Car will face with dire consequences! Take this as a ultimate threat!

And Mr Rajeev, you idiot.. you drove 30 KM to know how a Car performs!!! if you really have had any knowledge of Cars, you would have known it just by driving 2-5 KM only.
    Saale maruti ke chamche!!!!
