Hi,

Am writing this review with a view to share my experience related to the purchase of this car in the month of June this year, if you guys trust, better buy a car which is not outdated, having variants available.

I realise this now, if you see, A/C loovers are loose, most of the defects even dealers wonder.

This car might have queened the segment, but majority of you would agree that its high time to look at alternatives, no doubt the car is better compared to the alternates available with Maruti & GM in terms of power and efforts of company directly touching base with the customers to resolve their problems, but I feel look at the alternates available.

Best wishes,

Kapil Malik

    Dear Kapil,
Thanks for posting ur views. I waited for re-launch of accent thru executive version. u r right in a sense that accent has lived its life. However if u see nearest competitors- ikon, indigo xl, swift dzire etcs, ikon also have lived its life, indigo xl & dzire are newly launched. Ikon & Accent are supposedly complete cars in this segment. others are bit costly.
How is ur overall experience in Mileage, ride comfort& quality, finishing of interiors, new features added.

  2. on 04 Nov, 2008 at 03:01 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Vikas,

I agree with your views, but Indigo and Dezire are not as powerful as Accent is.

My car is delivering the average of approx. 10 after first service, ride comfort has been fair and as far as interiors are concerned, they deserve a change now. wood grain consol gives the kind of feel as if something has been artificially installed inside.

I would suggest the newer versions i.e., either Verna/SX4, despite the fact that they are a bit costly, HYUNDAI Service is simply best.

There is no transparency at the authorised service centres. Most of them fleece the hyundai car owners. Check their bills and invoices. They charge for de-carbonisation, which is not necessary for modern cars.Hyundai company must check such malpractices.

I bought Accent executive last week and its quite good. Value for money car. Only issue is fuel efficiency. 10kmpl in city.

  5. on 25 Nov, 2008 at 06:08 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Anil,

suggest you to get the car serviced as per user manual, let service center may realize you are not interested in gimmicks.

    Dear Nishanth,

I have felt that the car is pretty fuel efficient at 12 kmpl, have you observed unnecessary rattling in the car, I have at times, that's disturbing, also you would realize that the platic nearing the steering is not upto the mark, how is the same with your nw Executive

  6. on 09 Dec, 2008 at 09:55 PM King.Tempa

i am driving 7 year old car with 58k km . it is cng.if you change air filter at every 5k this car delivers good fuel economy and power. power steering is smooth .the best thing about this car is its AC which is great for delhi summers.maintenance is at par with maruti 800.do not go authorised dealers.private road side mechanics do a good job and you get chineese spare parts at dirt cheap prices.by the way verna is new accent.verna is sold in north america as accent.very few trips to garage

Guys, After reading all the comments above. Wanted an honest opinion.

I own a Zen and have been contemplating between Swift and Accent. Have an interest to go in for a long car thats why Accent is preferred. Is is adivsable to go in for a Accent Executive at this point in time

  8. on 12 Dec, 2008 at 12:09 PM Pradeep (Navi Mumbai)

yes, mr. ajit as u compare it for drive comfort and handling u must choose accent but if u r much concerned about fuel economy then ur choice of swift in diesel version will be best.

  9. on 12 Dec, 2008 at 10:02 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Dear Ajit,

also would recommend if the fuel economy is not an issue, try out Verna petrol xi as well,

accent is no doubt a good car, but having bought one in June this year GLE model, atleast I stick by m y initial opinion.

    Hi Kamal,

I have been a customer of Hyundai for the past 3.5 years now, first with Santro and now with Accent, before that I also had a Maruti with me, trust me when it comes to deliverance of sale/service, Hyundai has never let me down, I can't say anything about Maruti nowadays.

Swift Dezire I would say is not as powerful as Accent is, am satisfied to a great extent with Santro and Accent.

    Satish (Bangalore)
    Hi kamal
Recently i have purchased Hyundai Accent executive , It is the best car, value for money .
interiors are good , mil age of the car in city is around 12 on high way 16 .
Only worry is when will hyundai phase of the car ?? resale value ???

  14. on 16 Dec, 2008 at 10:38 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Satish,

before buying this car in the month of June this year, I had written to Hyundai confirming their future plans regarding the phasing out of this car, this do not have any. and second, you must have realized they want a petrol sedan to compete with new Dezire and other contemprories, since Verna Petrol does not economize the running of the car, Hyundai is larly dependent on Accent petrol else they would have phazed it out long back, so no worry right now for phazing of this car.

For all those want to buy the new accent executive. This is an amazing car. The ride is very smooth. The suspension is awesome. The car just sails over the potholes. The handling, the driving comfort is good. The tilt steering is very useful. I love its look(both interor and exterior). The interiors look much more luxurious (for a car of 5.5 L). The only negative factor is the fuel efficiency(as told by experts here). I have not had a chance to test the FE as my car is too new to comment.

  16. on 23 Dec, 2008 at 04:24 PM Jk

Bought Assent through CSD dealer in Oct 2008.

Nice car...great looks...complete value for money.

    Go ahead and buy.

I have bought Accent Hyundai on 1st Oct, 2008 and find the car a true value for money and a leader in this price band. All the features of a sedan is available and drive is very comfortable. I am yet to test the car on a long drive. Will be doing it shortly and post the findings.

    Dear,

Hyundai has been present in India for more than a decade and the presence of them have never really been a burden on Auto Industry, since you have already booked the car, we welcome you to so called "Accent family", trust me you would never be let down by the company atleast.

Hi,Currently i own Maruti 800, and now i want to buy C Segment car with good mileage. So I am interested to buy a new ACCENT EXECUTIVE with company authorized CNG Kit installed, which allow me to continue the warrenty. Is this advisable? Also as i am new to buy this type of car tell me yours expert reviews and advises.

  22. on 28 Dec, 2008 at 03:16 AM emaildotme (Pune)

so far, Accent Exec clearly appears as a good candidate. am 90% inclined on her, but am also looking at Fabia 1.2 classic which i can get at 15K extra (on top of 5.5L). not sure about FE of Fabia, showroom says its 12, which happens to be same as Accent Exec.
Anyone else did similar comparison?which one to go?

  23. on 28 Dec, 2008 at 11:08 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

Fabia would have high cost of maintenance, if you are looking from the short term perspective, Fabia would be good, but not from the long term, as the cost of spares and service is high at Skoda

  24. on 05 Jan, 2009 at 01:45 PM Prasun

    Hi,
This is 1st time i'm buying a car. I thought of Accent executive as I prefer Sedan (not decided) and its also cost effective. But if I have compare between Accent and Fiat Palio Sport version, which one per your opinion is best, also why not consider Swift? Swift I know provides some extra features but Accent compromised on the safety feature with no air bags. Please suggest.

  28. on 21 Jan, 2009 at 11:58 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Try Maruti Swift Dezire/Hyundai Accent,

Accent is preferred over Maruti because of the style, comfort and Hyundai good interiors.

I would like to by a sedan car withing budget of around 5 lakhs, please suggest whether Accent is best among the car in such range.

  32. on 06 Feb, 2009 at 01:49 PM Hot Shot (Pune)

If you read through this entore thread, you'll be able to decide if Accent Executive is best sedan choice.

As far as I'm concerned, I've decided to go for it with CNG option if I get a good deal on other accessories.Else Verna is always there but a bit expensive.

check the services feasibility in your area, if Hyundai can provide service there, without a doubt go for it..

    hello all,
after reading a lot, i decided on hyundai, and enquired about i20, as the sales guy happened to know me, he suggested me to go for, revamped, hyundai accent executive, and i liked what i saw, so i booked it.but now my friends are making me apprehensive, that accent is soon going to be phased out. and i have made a mistake, pls enlighten me. whether i hv made a right choice, after all.
    thanks

    Hi,

Hyundai have no plans to phase this car out, I had written to Hyundai before I bought this car and taken the confirmation from them.

See the model is a decade old, these type of apprehensions are obvious, do not get carried away.

    Hi
i have to buy a sedan car my budget is around 5 - 5.50 lakhs at max.
I want petrol coz in future i want CNG kit in my Car
I am confused about the Accent Executive and Swift Dzire...
i compared Accent Executive, Logan and Swift Dzire

    http://www.carwale.com/Research/CompareCars/compareRatings.aspx?car1=1433&car2=1270&car3=1323&car4=

but m still confused,i have to finance my car so a little mistake could b very big in future for me, in future i don't want to say my self, i made a wrong

  38. on 09 Feb, 2009 at 02:01 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Saurabh,

dezire and accent are equally fine, Accent comes with CNG version but Dezire does not, if you have passion for power, go for Accent else Dezire

  39. on 12 Feb, 2009 at 12:43 AM Puneet (Vapi)

why is there no comments/comparison of accent with Logan?

  40. on 12 Feb, 2009 at 08:29 AM Eliezer (Kolkata)

I am stuck between Accent and Dzire, I prefer accent but I have a few problems.
<1>Accent does not have tubeless tires and Dzire has it with alloy wheels
<2>Accent does not have a misic system and Dzire has it.
Can anyone tell me how much it would cost to get alloy wheels with tubeloss tires and a decent music system like sony explode(min 4 Speakers)I went to Sony website but i cant understand a thing and does anyone know if I can put on some 16"wheels on accent?

  41. on 12 Feb, 2009 at 10:15 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

No comments on Logan because of no service network available + the company's interest in the product is also more or less lost.

  42. on 12 Feb, 2009 at 10:18 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

see if you are interested in the power of 1500CC think of Accent, but if it does not matter and you are happy paying the price of 1500cc and getting 1300cc and the accessories for the same price that of accent, the choice is yours...

think back and check Verna/SX4 as well.

  43. on 14 Feb, 2009 at 02:52 PM Manish (New Delhi)

Hi , I have Maruti 800 ..wanted to buy a sedna within the rage of 4.5 to 5.5 lacs, checked the comparison between Accent,Logan and, totally confused as of now, please give your suggestions.

I would like your valuable comments on Logan edge 1.4 Glx and Accent Executive.

    Hi All,
I bought this Hyunadai Accent Executive last month. Trust me its a gem of a car...looks too good in comaprison to cars in its segment, neither has truck look of logan or smashed bonnet look of swift-dzire or generation old look of ikon....
i am getting 12km/ltr after 500km without first servicing

  45. on 26 Feb, 2009 at 02:35 PM Monsi78

    Hi All,

I have an Accent GLE, and trust me its a fantastic car. The best part is the gear to power ratio.I have never driven a car with such smooth gear shifting. Also the suspension is very soft and the car just glides over potholes. I have a LPG kit fitted to the car and its superb in city conditions. However, at steep ascends, one needs to go back to petrol to gain power. I am however not very pleased with the AC cooling of the car but thats not a big problem.

Hi, Currently I'm driving a WagonR LXI 2006. I'm looking for a sedan in the range of 5-6 Lacs, with driving comfort and fuel efficiency and spacious interiors . What would be the best choice in the segment?

  47. on 25 Mar, 2009 at 10:19 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi,

there is ample choice viz., Dezire/Logan/Accent/Verna petrol, the choice depends on the daily running of the car and whether you wish to have the petrol/diesel/CNG variant.

  48. on 29 Mar, 2009 at 11:18 PM Rishikapoor21

    DEAR ALL,
AS I READ ABOVE COMMENTS I FIND MR. KAPIL MALIK GIVING ADVISE TO EVEYONE TO BUY ACCENT ,
BUT I TOOK A TEST DRIVE OF ACCENT AND FOUND THE CAR LOW IN HEIGHT.A TALL PERSON WITH LONG LEGS WILL FACE DIFFICULTY, SITTING COMFORTABLY.PLEASE ADVISE.

  49. on 30 Mar, 2009 at 09:32 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Dear,

Please read through the entire trail of the mails and my suggestions, I advocate Accent for Power and after sales back up, rest is absolutely upto you. Despite the best efforts and maximum no. of service centres, Maruti dealers are not customer friendly, whatever no. of awards and whatever no. of commitments they make.

As far for tall people I am myself 6'1", I never face this problem in Accent.

    hi kapil,
i am planning to buy this car in next 15 days!any suggestions fuel efficiency? performance and maintenance cost etc!

  51. on 09 Apr, 2009 at 09:32 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Prashant,

fuel efficiency wise the same is 12-13 kmpl, depending on the traffic conditions in the city, maintenance wise very good no maintenance cost.

just thoroughly check the car, before taking the delivery, if the need be, please take the test drive of the same vehicle before signing the delivery and other papers in the showroom itself.

  52. on 12 Apr, 2009 at 02:42 PM Prashant (Nagpur)

hi kapil, u have been a lot of help about the car, still i have a little reservations like how do u justify buying ans accent on swift desire Diesle forget about fuel efficiency.

And performance on legal gas kit and it's effect on engine. Advice.

  53. on 13 Apr, 2009 at 11:14 PM Abhi Singh

I bought Hyundai Accent exe in Jan 09. Drive few times on Delhi-Jaipur (NH 8) over 150 KM/H. Believe me, power of the car is amazing. You won't feel the it's true speed until you check speed meter.IT IS THAT SMOOTH.Above that, the braking system is simply superb on high speed. As far as style goes(exterior),it is far much better the other cars in same segment.Interior is OK, but who cares when you have such powerful car in affordable price. AC is good in DILLI ki GARMI.My suggestion go for it!!

  54. on 14 Apr, 2009 at 12:25 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Prashant,

Thanks for your query, accent I have been suggesting only when you love power, you would realize power when you drive this car, gas kit in the car would not affect its performance, except impact on the tyres/suspension,

maintenance cost is less, Maruti might claim to be the best after sales, practically speaking, after sales is simply the best at Hyundai,

  55. on 17 Apr, 2009 at 01:32 AM Hardik (Baroda)

    Hello,

Can anyone please comment/compare Swift Dzire and Accent Executive for the room/space inside the car?

    Thanks,
    Hardik

  56. on 17 Apr, 2009 at 11:52 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Dear Hardik,

It would be the same more or less.

    Regards,

  57. on 17 Apr, 2009 at 12:10 PM Amit

Hardik: Accent was designed as Sedan from ground zero. Whereas Dzire is a H/B with a glued boot, you will feel that from day one, if you drive Swift (compare rear seats comfort in Dzire and swift). Because inner space was not optimized for new dimension nor shocks nor any other parameter. Accent is much better drivable car than swift in city as well as highway, ride and handling (anti roll bars in front and rear compare to Swift) is much better even with stock 13" tyres ...

  58. on 17 Apr, 2009 at 12:40 PM Amit

... Engine of Accent is technically advance than 20 year old Swift engine. One can put nice ICE for under 15K and add nice alloy for uder 15K + tyre. But one can't add rear defogger (safety feature during rain), tilt steering, foot rest etc. by spending money. In general, I find most Hyundai ASS more professional except few bad apples but get service only what is recommended in manual, not what they want. I would like to see some long term study with CNG, by King.Tempa, Monsi78 etc.

  59. on 17 Apr, 2009 at 12:49 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Amit,

Could you please detail the engine advancement of Hyundai Accent over Swift,

as per the details issued by Car experts the engines of Maruti Swift are very good and they are not stale

as far as ASS is concerned, you are absolutely correct, Hyundai is better

  60. on 18 Apr, 2009 at 11:55 AM Prashant (Nagpur)

    Hi Kapil,
Been reading ur advice regularlay and would like to inform everybody that i found Accent to be the best deal even when i compared it to Linea base model and Aveo both of these have more or less same features and cost 1 to 1.25 lac more so guys go for Accent.

Concerned : New variant launch/or facelift and we will be left with old looks and models.

  61. on 20 Apr, 2009 at 01:15 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Thanks Prashant,

You are absolutely correct when you say that the features in Linea and Aveo have more or less the same features,

as far as your concern regarding the new variant is concerned, the same goes with any car.

Accent is such a widely sold car, that there the company is not thinking of the facelift in the short run, in the mid size car segment Hyundai is selling maximum Accent in petrol, noone is interested in Verna Petrol despite the better pick up and features as no mileag

  62. on 21 Apr, 2009 at 04:20 AM Amit

Well, engine is the most sophisticated component of car, and life and driving enjoyment depends on smoothness & longevity of engine. Indian auto experts go by bhp@rpm, n-m@rpm, 0-100 kmph etc., which are measurable parameters. R&D for engine is very expensive. Even changing engine block from cast iron to all aluminum alloy improves the engine characteristic, reduces weight, better NVH, better lubrication and longevity. I have heard of Accent engines doing 300,000 Miles in USA, no repair ..

  63. on 21 Apr, 2009 at 04:36 AM Amit

... Kapil, I prefer to look at bhp and n-m wrt rpm characteristic to understand engine. Even making characteristic flatter without change of # will make a car more drivable but it will take lot R&D effort. Now, you had the Accent for 10 months, you can share your experience, FE and liking. Initially you were not happy with loose a/c louvers (every new car has some initial problems)& dated look, but it grows on you over time and family loves it for comfort - drive a Swift now. Do you have CNG

  64. on 21 Apr, 2009 at 04:54 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

Amit, Accent has the power of 95 at 5500 rpm an max torque of 12.7 at 3500 rpm, the drive has been pretty ok and on highway you really get the power so desired against Honda which produces 118 at 6600 rpm, the reason for recommendation is correct power as good and equivalent to that of Honda,

Accent has self developed Alfa engine, interiors have been ok allalong except one short coming i.e., little support for lower back which is the same with all Sedans of Hyundai & Honda.

  65. on 21 Apr, 2009 at 04:58 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

After Sales Service of Hyundai has been terrific, I did face probelems viz, loose louvers but because of Hyundai's good after sales service, they really helped me on each of the visit, (there were not very many visits)

Still, every Hyundai mechanic at Hyundai workshop proudly calls this car as their car, which is the best part.

  66. on 21 Apr, 2009 at 05:05 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

Amit, just to add, mine is the Petrol version, knowingly, I went for the petrol as having the CNG cylinder reduces the life of the tyres and suspension, also, this car delivers nothing less than 13 km for each litre with A/C on city roads and 16 km on highway, a good milage.

I have driven SWIFT as well, but the interiors of Accent are better than that of SWIFT/DEZIRE/A STAR.

  67. on 26 Apr, 2009 at 11:56 AM Abhishek

hi i want to buy accent executive version with cng kit fitted as i drive alot, just want to know that whether initially fitting the cng kit hampers the engine or not??

  68. on 27 Apr, 2009 at 10:50 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Abhishek,

the technology is so advanced that it does not..

better buy the CNG fiited version of Accent instead of buying the normal and getting the fitment done later.

    Hi Nishanth,

as far as the mileage is concerned, I am getting 12.5 km/litre in Delhi, after the second service, mileage is the only thing which I have really liked about the car and of course the Hyundai Service Back up, I am not sure about Bangalore but atleast in Delhi have found that the attitude of the selling dealers is more or less the same, but for servicing, they are really concerned,

Please write in to Hyundai Customer Service, your concern regarding the vibrations and other is

Im planning to buy Accent Executive or I20. Little confused. Any suggestion?

  74. on 19 May, 2009 at 09:22 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

go for I20, better technology, if you require a Sedan think of Accent

  75. on 20 May, 2009 at 11:57 PM S B Palya (Bangalore)

go for i20 if u dont need d boot..it has amazing features and u wont get bored at all..its a new car and if possible buy the asta model...its a one of the best car currently available

what is the best deal!!!! what finance options are available and what would be the minimum on road cost (Alwar,Rajasthan)

  77. on 22 May, 2009 at 09:21 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

    please contact your nearest dealer!!!

  78. on 23 May, 2009 at 08:44 PM Sunil

Hi, thanks for suggestion. I have decided to go for Accent, its pleasure to drive it compare to i20. Beside with discounts it cost less than i20 Asta. Im getting 10K exchange bonus, please music system from dealer, with teflon and anti rust coating. Its my opinion maintenance of i20 will be very costly. With so much of electronic, it will cost if something goes wrong. Especially in Mumbai where rain takes tall on car/electronics.

  79. on 23 May, 2009 at 11:53 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Sunil,

You are correct, the maintenance of I20 is expensive compared to that of Accent.

  80. on 24 May, 2009 at 03:09 PM Rohit Madan

Hi Everybody, I read all the comments. I am planning to buy the Accent. I have always liked this car, presently have Alto, going for good, cost effective Sedan.

  81. on 25 May, 2009 at 09:22 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Rohit,

do take the test drive of the car (of the same piece) before you take the delivery of the same.

    Hi Kapil, & Everybody
I am a Doctor, travelling 50-60 Kms per day to my hospital. Have shortlisted the Accent Executive and shall book it soon. I may decide to go for CNG after 1st service only. Dear Kapil, Fitting a CNG may require strengthening of Rear Suspension?? U have mentioned avoiding CNG for Suspension load and tyre wear. can it be solved? Lastly, I takes a lot of research to finalise a sedan especially if the Budget is sub 6lacs and U look for VFM & FE all!Thanx -Dr Roopam Gupta

  83. on 27 May, 2009 at 11:35 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Dr.Gupta,

Thanks for your query, I fully agree with you that it does take lot of reasearch before you finalize seda with alternates in Aveo and Dezire available.

You really have to check with the dealer what is the option available so that the rear suspension retains the strength and tyre wear, in case the dealer tries to take you for a ride by saying that it will not happen, do not trust them, talk to somebody who is already driving this sedan for 25-30000 KMs.

    Hi Vikram,

for this you will have to visit Hyundai showroom but one more thing, probably the company shall discontinue the production of this car either in JAN/APRIL 2010 because this car does not meet EURO IV emission norms, please do check the same and share information with us as well.

    Regards,

  89. on 16 Jun, 2009 at 09:33 AM Hardik (Baroda)

    Hi Kapil,

I just booked mine (Berry Red) in Baroda last Sunday. If they discontinue the production of this car, what would be its impact on us? I don't have any idea, so will really appreciate if you can put down all the points.

    Thanks,
    Hardik

  90. on 16 Jun, 2009 at 10:00 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Hardik,

Honestly, this can be clarified by Hyundai only, I don't think till the time Hyundai is in India, availability of the spare parts will be an issue, you can write to cr@hmil.net

You have booked the car, don't worry, just write to Hyundai, they will provide all the necessary assistance and resolve your queries, which is the best part of Hyundai.

    Hi Kapil,
Can you offer a comparison between the Fiesta Petrol base version and the Accent Executive.

Had a budget of 6-7L and was planning to buy a Fiesta for change as i have been having an Accent for 8 years now but after test driving the Fiesta i don't have the excitement i feel every time i climb into my Accent and also feel that i'm paying too much for a Fiesta. Please advise.

  92. on 16 Jun, 2009 at 01:23 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi,

fiesta is definately a good buy, but the maintenance cost is high for this company, please compare the maintenance chart of two cars and think again.

a budget of 6-7 lacs can get you an SX4 which would offer the best of service and not burdensome maintenance cost.

    Think again!!!

    Hi Rahul,

Not to worry, I provided the information solely on the grounds of the information available in media and dealership, I would not add anything from my side,
Now in one of the threads one of the members informed that Hyundai is coming up with the EURO IV model in Accent towards the end of this year, this is again one information you receive, but till the time the same its not confirmed via official Hyundai/media sources, I never posted the same in this thread.

    Hi Kapil,
Please advice if i can go for a Accent Exe LPG variant as i travel more than 50 km a day in bangalore. i am hesitant about the safety of LPG as i feel that the tank might get damaged when driving on humps/bad roads. Even though the dealers say that it will not be of any problem i would like to put this question to this group so that somebody could give me confidence to go ahead. Also will it cost me on the suspension/tyre when opting a LPG variant? Thanks & Regards Raja

  106. on 22 Jul, 2009 at 09:39 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

In one of forum on this website only, I was informed that Hyundai would be introducing EURO IV compliant model within this year or anytime before March 31, 2010, but there is no official intimation to this effect.

Nevertheless, I do not think it would in any case, this should affect, as there are no plans for the company to discontinue with this car.

    Dear Mr Kapil,
I appreciate your comments/suggestions. I live in US and I know that Hyundai cars are very popular here and are renowned for their millage. I wanted to buy this car for my parents and your suggestions really helped me to justify my decision. Keep posting.

  116. on 24 Jul, 2009 at 05:06 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Dear Mr. Narayanan,

Let Carwale not consider this car (actually they do), but the car is a popular choice, in terms of its reliability and sturdiness, interiors are terrific.

In case you are looking for FE car, it is not the right choice for you,the same would be around 10-12 in city and 15-18 on highway,

Take a test drive for all 3, you would appreciate the driver friendliness and interiors.

  118. on 24 Jul, 2009 at 05:12 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Mr. Narayanan,

additionally, the features in the car viz., steering adjustment and after sales service back up with very good attitude makes this car a better option over its rivals.

First review of Accent Executive LPG variant... It is very smooth and i really dont see a big difference in terms of pickup when driving in LPG mode. Though i have not checked the mileage very accurately, it gives around Ten in Bangalore driving conditions. As such i am very happy to have purchased Accent Executive LPG model. I am about to give my vehicle for 1st service.. i can expect more mileage after that.. will definitely kepp that posted..Thanks a lot for all the members in this group

Hi Kapil, Have been reading your posts. very informative. Have shortlisted accent and getz 1.3 (though not in same segment). Requirement is comfortable seating for 5 on long drives(i have wagon r currently), good suspension, power with a/c.which one would you suggest? and is GOI implementing bharat iv norms from 2010? thanks.. ram.

  122. on 30 Jul, 2009 at 09:58 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Sriram,

seating for 5 is comfortable with Accent, Getz is equally a good car, viz, its comfort and FE but not fit for 5.

Go for Accent, it will not be phased out, Hyundai is making the same EURO IV compliant effective April 1, 2010.

See brother, the car you are planning to buy, when I say take the test drive of that particular piece which you are buying, closely check everything inside the car, its loovers air conditioning and rattling etc., please insist on to check the PDI Report, the dealer is bound to disclose the same to you if not give the copy of the same

hi...I just came from hyundai dealer in Noida.. I have already booked i20 coz i liked it very much since i saw it for 1st time..and its really good in every aspects..but now m reconsidering my decision as by putting only 20k more i can get a sedan i.e, accent excecutive...besides its truely value for money..I asked the hyundai person for his honest opinion and he said accent is definetely a winner over i20 if you dont want to stick to newer model only..its not going to phased out any soon...!!

  129. on 07 Aug, 2009 at 04:31 PM Ravi Nagar (Noida)

i have to take decision by tomorrow to change my booking from i20 to accent petrol.....m also planning to company fit CNG in 4-5 months time...how good is the CNG in terms of power, performance and mileage?? could anyone suggest!!

  130. on 07 Aug, 2009 at 05:16 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

Running cost might reduce with CNG, but if not very much concerned with running cost, go for normal petrol, as such with company fitted CNG the performance and power are not affected at all.

Go for it, not to worry

  131. on 07 Aug, 2009 at 05:26 PM Ravi Nagar (Noida)

Thanks Kapil!! m going to have test drive tomorrow and will decide by then.....will let you people know how i find it!!

  132. on 07 Aug, 2009 at 05:59 PM Sandeep Awal (Ghaziabad)

    thanks Kapil,

Ravi, its better you go for accent with CNG fitment at the time of purchase if you want CNG. Company is also offering 2yr warranty with CNG which you will not get if you go for petrol version and later convert it to CNG(you will lose warranty).
I beleive Hyundai is the only company giving warranty on car with CNG fittment(factory fitted).

  133. on 07 Aug, 2009 at 06:19 PM Ravi Nagar (Noida)

Sandeep, actually for buying accent i m going far ahead of my budget. that is the only reason why i m planning to get CNG fitted after a few months..As far as warranty is concerned, i have checked with the dealer. it will remain intact if i get it fitted with company itself after 3-4 months.the only factor is that warranty will be from the date of buying, not from the date of CNG fitting.

  140. on 10 Aug, 2009 at 09:38 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Mohit,

PDI is the pre delivery Inspection report of the vehicle, dealers are normally are reluctant to share the same, but to understand the defects which the car had at the time of the arrival in the showroom, you should insist on taking the look at the same.

The deal you are getting is good. ask for the MP3 player/car mats/mud flaps, just bargain a bit more, you should get it.

  144. on 20 Aug, 2009 at 06:34 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Dear Veerabahu,

any car which is not registered and the test drive taken, you can definitely ask for the replacement of the piece if there is a defect in the same, I always suggest to check the PDI Report before taking the delivery of the car.

as far as the stereo is concerened, sir, this totally depends on the deal you have strike with the dealers, I am not too sure about the current offerings in Chennai.

Previously i used to get 13 k m / ltr in city limits and highways it goes up to 16 km/ltr. Wld like to know is just my thinking or it happens after the changing of petrol filter and lie

every car before the delivery of the same undergoes the thorough check up, whether it carries any defect, if not then the same is delivered, you just have to check the PDI Report which is shared by the dealer only on the insistence, please ask for it, he will share the register and the copy of the PDI Report with you for the car which you are going to buy.

You can cross check the PDI Rport with that of the car through VIN NO. (Vehicle Identification Number).

After a lot of consideration & reading through your expriences shared here, i feel Hyundai Accent Ex is the car i need to buy. I think if it had a slightly better fuel eco, it would be the best value for money car.

    Hi frenz,
I am a huge fan of hyundai accent.Personally i feel, that it has the best shape, if compared to any other c segment car, people say that it is an outdated product, but i wud say it is a long living product.
I m planing to buy this old gold for me within this month,n want to get rear spoiler installed on it,is it advisable to get it installed from a hyundai dealership itself, or shall i go for it from outside market.

Hi brother, accessories could be bought from a reputed dealer outside, you really save up a lot, its just a comfort you feel buying it from the dealer.

the guys who install the accessories in the showroom also have the same knowledge as the guy at accessory shop would have, as showroom guys are not specially trained for this purpose by the company.

    hi kapil
i just got this car in a hurry (LPG version) and only concern is its fuel efficiency which i regreat for as the nearest LPG station is 160 KMS away. plz guide if i can use household LPG cylinder for refueling it what can be the possible side effects

  164. on 20 Oct, 2009 at 09:12 AM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Abdul,

Congrats for the new car, I would strongly recommend NOT to use domestic cylinder for refuelling as they are neither meant for it, usage can be very dangerous, nor they can deliver optimum efficiency which the company fitted kits can.

So please do not use domestic cylinders as all.

    Best wishes,
    Kapil Malik

    Hello Everyone,

Can anyone explain about the difference between LPG and CNG? I can see Accent Exc comes with LPG fitted and CNG. so wanted to know the diff for these two.

    Thanks - Vijay

    Hi Vijay,

CNG is the natural gas which is not flammable easily whereas its the other way round with LPG, the cylinder of CNG is bulkier than LPG to the best of my knowledge, the power pick up is same with either.

    Regards,

Hi, Been following the chain of comments for quite some time now. I am still in the phase of deciding between Accent EXE LPG and
Swift VDI - Daily Commute 70 Kms. How does the car fare in tight traffic situations (bumper to bumper).

  168. on 08 Nov, 2009 at 09:02 PM Kapil (New Delhi)

    Hi Anantha,

practically speaking, performance would be same for SWIFT and Accent on the road, the only criteria I feel is if you encounter jams on daily basis, handling hatchback (SWIFT) would be better.

    Hi Kapil & frinds,
I need a help in deciding b/w Accent Executive & Dezire. I am concerne about the mileage . What is the mileage of Accent in city & highway with AC full on? What is the best time to buy a car for better discounts & offer?
As per your comments, Accent is not compatible with EURO IV & you have mentioned that it will be after April 2010, should I buy / book the car after april 2010.
    Please suggest......awaiting for your reply.

    Hi,
choosing betwen accent & dezire, if the criteria is FE only, Accent is around 10 in the city and 13-14 with A/C on the normal speed of 60-70 km on highway, Dezire should be more than this but if you look at comfort Accent is better, Dezire I have seen starts rattling after a year or so, whether doors or elsewhere.

as far as EURO IV compliance is concerned, all the cars whether accent or dezire would have to be EIV compaliant, best time to buy is December with loads of discounts.

    Hello Gentlemen,

I am planning to own a Hyundai Accent Executive in about a month or couple. I’ve heard and read a lot of positives about this Car; however, people seem to have major concerns with its road grip, apparently, the Car drifts at higher the velocity (refferring to the speed of 100-120 KMPH)… Is this true? I am a frequent traveler and Cars with wobbly grip is indeed a major concern. I request your opinion on this matter.

    Hi Rocky,
I took my Accent on highway on as much as 140 kmpl, it responds terrific, with good road grip, atleast do not bothered from this side.
