When I had seen the ZEN ESTILO, I decided to buy it and eagerly I requested to nearest Maruti dealer but I was disappointed after the test ride because the driver seat leg room is very much congested and you will have to push your seat back but again if car loaded with 5 people then back seat guys would be frustrated because of leg room again.
I would not recommend to buy ESTILO but you should have a test ride before you buy, at a first glance ESTILO attracts to everyone.

Thanks.

It's not true; I am owner of this car and I have it’s Vxi model I found estilo is a perfect car based on some fact:

    1. This cars original name was mr-wagon and working in Japan last 4 yr.
2.Any car when runs more then 2 yr company gets more feedback and based on that company improves quality, “Its working since 2001”
    3. About leg space, go and try once again.
    4. Try it on highway, when it goes beyond 90 it becomes more stable.
    5. Sets are very comfortable and you can drive it long.

Can any body tell me about its milage? Not quoted by company but the actual tat you get currently. Thanks...

  4. on 19 May, 2007 at 08:40 AM Uttam_Ayush176

I do not like its head light compare than santro.

  5. on 12 Jun, 2007 at 01:42 AM Abcdrdfe (Mumbai)

I do not own this car but am seriously considering this. One thing is for sure - in this segment, if this car does not provide you enough space, no other car will.

  6. on 12 Jun, 2007 at 06:52 AM Noshir

hmmm i had no trouble in the test drive. Infact I liked the space above the dash board too. I found trouble for leg space in a Santro. :(

I am the Proud owner of LXi varient of this car, and i find this car superb, its has avery good boot space compare to all other cars in this segment, engine is very smooth, milage is good and its AC is mindblowing.A vary good car to be owned

  8. on 28 Jun, 2007 at 11:16 AM Faizan

I totally agree to Aishwarya. Even i own this car and its petty decent. Look at the price is way below Santro, Spark, WagonR.With this price you get more than required, in short value for money.

  9. on 25 Jul, 2007 at 05:36 PM Pramod706

I own an Zen estilio and i think this report is quite misguiding, please ignore this review as already done by some of the reviewers.
Zen indeed is perfect car with little cons

  10. on 08 Sep, 2007 at 11:58 PM Preejith.P (New Delhi)

Well what I think is as per the price bracket it falls that the car looks very small when seen on roads & does not have an appeal.Yes if I talk about the tecnical spec the car has good performance compared to Wagon R,Santro & other models & also has good fuel efficiency.

  11. on 14 Sep, 2007 at 04:31 PM Josh

Guys, what's this confusion about space on a car slightly smaller than the wagon R. Santro has never been thus spacious with the boot, rear seats and ease in reaching out to the equipments. There is nothing more one can expect on space from the small car segment. This car refined after loads of research on Indian small cars and the MR Wagon from Japan.

    Continued .....

  12. on 14 Sep, 2007 at 04:45 PM Josh

Mileage is pretty gud compared to wagonR & santro.makes about 18-19 in city & 21-22 on highway.there is no way this can be compared with alto's mileage.the extra 200CC from the engine burns lil more fuel but gives a better output ratio comparing to alto's output matrix.at jus a lil more fuel drops extra power compared to alto's 800 matrix is too gud, like a 1 ltr tropicana is cheaper than 2 500 ml packs.nothing more can be expected frm this engine until custom tuned with K&N performance parts

  13. on 14 Sep, 2007 at 04:54 PM Josh

the A pillar design like matiz gives more wind cutting reducing pressure on engine.drive position and eye area is pretty gud like on the wagonR.seats r more comfy than on any other small car, remember new wagonR has the same seats, so no difference there.boot is just 20 mm smaller than wagonR, only 1 extra caterpillar less.but take a luk @ the dash, God, it's stunning.reach to music & AC controls r much above the position on ALL small cars, giving constant eye on road ahead.

  14. on 14 Sep, 2007 at 04:59 PM Josh

gear shift is not as gud as on the swift & getz, but those r the 5 lac category.among the 4 lac cars this is the best gear box, same on wagonR.steering is smaller than alto & santro : more body&knee room to move in&out.VXi has jus about everythin on a luxury car yet priced 5K less than wagonR & much less than santro (which has no rear p-windows & electric ORVM even on top ends).so why miss the luxury when u get it for less.AC is the best in class with 4 fan speeds & bigger vents with wider fins

  15. on 14 Sep, 2007 at 05:07 PM Josh

overall, this car gives best value for money&resale, better mileage on a 1061CC engine, wise use of space & thoughtful dash & cup holders design.suzuki alloys with bigger radials will decrease weight & give better grip which can also enhance mileage coupled with wind cutting from the A pillar.if u r a person who can compromise looks for mileage&luxury, this car is too damn worth the money.definitely doesn't look girlish so boys sure can take pride in owning this car

  16. on 14 Sep, 2007 at 05:13 PM Josh

if u know a maruti dealer who can hlep u get maruti ceetified mechanics retro fit the LPG kit on wagonR Duo, this car can give better cost cutting on fuel compromising the boot space occupied by the spare wheel&jack.and if u r a sports fan, custom built skirts, spoilers r available in the market starting from 15K.parking sensors can come @ 10K which saves ur neck strech while parking in tight spaces.nothing more is needed on this car (VXi)

  22. on 04 Nov, 2007 at 01:20 AM Kalpan Desai (Surat)

You cant get better than this.
cheap, fuel efficient, sexy interior, sporty looks, little less back seat space if u r 6ft.
A complete package in small segment.

Hi. i already purchased this car last saturday , without reading any riews..But i feel really great as my own weight is 90 kgs and my height is 5'9" and i can seat easily and drive confortablly this Estilo. In small sagments car estilo is the only one in its class has less money and more facility and economy too.. If u can't afford SX4 then go for estilo its nice choice......

    Zen Estilo has gearbox complaint

  31. on 03 Mar, 2008 at 09:10 PM Shveta (New Delhi)

I puchased this car in feb 2007 , lookwise its like a space machine , comfortwise superb more than a merc, ac superb I have to switch it off in the month of june, at 120 kmpn it is the most stable car in this segment, inimitable brakes.eye refreshing colour , what all you need 17 kms/ltr. no noise any where from the engine and from the body after one year.

  32. on 06 Mar, 2008 at 01:23 PM Bhaskar Dave (Noida)

I want to purchase this car. is this a right time to buy a Zen? can somebody help me?

  33. on 08 Mar, 2008 at 03:30 PM Anand

I have bought zen estilo one month before. It Realy gives a good look. The mileage is 17kms /ltr wo ac. The Breaking is good. In high ways it is very stable. The Gears r very tight. Maruti shud have checked this. Any way this Car is very cute.

  34. on 10 Mar, 2008 at 03:12 PM Sunnywandy

i was confused for the past 1 and 1/2 months whether to buy a zen estillo or an i10. the reviews have helped me to go for an estillo.

  35. on 27 Mar, 2008 at 08:29 PM Mahesh Iyer (Ahmedabad)

Looks good booked it today and was very power efficient in this segment.

Better then Hyundai i10 because remember Maruti parts are cheaper and look at it on the long run. Hyundai parts are always expensive so it would be good bet to go for a Estilo.

  36. on 03 Apr, 2008 at 01:31 PM Hirenda.Singh

Iam using zen Estillo for last 06 month i am not facing any problem it gives good milage, good interiars &very stable at highways

  37. on 05 Apr, 2008 at 04:02 PM Jignesh

I have bought the estilo in Jan 2007. Its a good value for money car for a family of 4 people.I am not happy for the mileage 12km/ltr with AC in bangalore city.

  38. on 05 May, 2008 at 11:11 PM Anurag (Ghaziabad)

i am trying to purchase a zen estillo. Is it worth

  39. on 17 May, 2008 at 09:40 AM Sam

pls update regarding the maintenance of car & mileage. whether it is ideal for long drives or just it is a city car.

  40. on 22 May, 2008 at 01:48 PM Aloy

140+ KPH... Still It was very stable unlike other cars in same segment! No Engine noise at all!
Worth 4 lakhs.. Best on highways! Space for back seaters is a problem but great if you are driving!AC is powerful! Very good control within traffic. A Good Value for money!

  41. on 28 May, 2008 at 04:52 PM Kamlapati

After going through several reviews of zen estilo got confused.people are saying that gear is hard and complaint on gear box. Is this a serious problem on technical front or this is just related with comfort on gear shift.
In long run does gear box will give any problem ?
I am planning to by please post me your comment.
kindly also tell me average milege of zen ezstilo.
When we say that it is 20mm less than wagon R ,is that rear leg space is a problem.

  42. on 28 May, 2008 at 07:20 PM Tarun

simplya uselees car, cant b compared wd santro, its looks r just disgasting. it resembles matiz which already had a bad time, anyone goin 4 it pl pl go 4 santro, i m using it 4 last 8yrs

  43. on 10 Jun, 2008 at 12:44 PM Darshil

i have booke Estilo, i found it good value for money. Yes compare to Santro it is not that much specious but santro is >35k dearer thn estilo, yes i always found maintenance cost is not much issue with maruti car. Now person has to deside if he/she like to go for more comfort or wants to pay high. - darshil

  44. on 10 Jun, 2008 at 02:53 PM Tarun

if u hv booked zen the u may wait zen is goin 2 change its model. even santro doesnt hv any maintenance charges, santro is ruling indian roads. but 35k is worth 2 b spend on santro. its my advice but last decision is urs. Best of luk 4 new car

  45. on 18 Jun, 2008 at 05:37 PM Steve.Immanuel

I have driven santro, i10, indica and Estilo. When comparing with the all cars, Zen Estilo is the best vehicle in comfort, smoothness, milege, AC and Power. I bought Estilo before 3 months.

  46. on 19 Jun, 2008 at 02:01 AM Dom1512

I own a Zen Lxi, its more then 9 months i have purchased it.. still now no any complaint its very comfortable car comparing to Wagaon R.. and about mileage not below 17km/lts its give more then 17km.. so just go for it.....

  47. on 27 Jun, 2008 at 06:53 PM Nilesh Joshi (Mumbai)

    Hi all,

I am planning to buy a Zen Estilo LXI. I did some research and also went through many Carwale.com forums. I reckon that each car has pros and cons. Considering all such things I have decided to go for Estilo mainly for the below reasons:
    1. Good value for money
    2. Discount offered by Maruti
    3. Maruti's reputation for after-sales Service (there are so many Service stations available in Mumbai)
    4. Looks of the car
    5. Smooth pickup
    6. Mileage
    7. More than enough boot-space

  48. on 12 Jul, 2008 at 12:12 AM Shibu Nair (Navi Mumbai)

I had initially planned to buy Alto. But when I saw Zen Estilo, I just fell for its looks (exterior and interior). It is very much roomy and costs just about 30,000 more than Alto. I finally purchased it and have completed 2nd service. This car is just the best.

  49. on 20 Jul, 2008 at 07:04 PM Dipen

CAN we Install CNG or LPG Kits in Maruti Zen Estilo? What's the result? Average in LPG and CNG?

  50. on 23 Jul, 2008 at 08:17 PM Prachi

today i went to the sai service with the intention to book WagonR, but fell to the charm of the Zen Estilo, very good looking & the specifications r similiar to Wagonr. excited about it, yes it is a mini innova.

  51. on 04 Aug, 2008 at 04:33 PM Yogendra Sharma (Noida)

can somebody give me fair idea. if i compare estilo with spark & santro.which would be better for my wife , who is using alto.

  52. on 04 Aug, 2008 at 07:51 PM Shyam Ashtekar (Nashik)

This car has 3 aerioua problems: 1: the side window near the front glass/dashboard with its bar is obstructing the view when you are turining-just like the WR 2) the seats are too upright for comfort-unlike alto. 3) The glass gets foggy in coudy wather and the car dealser could not diagnose/treat the problem

  55. on 10 Oct, 2008 at 03:28 PM Rohit Kapoor (Lucknow)

I felt the same problem of view obstruction in estilo while turning, but its gr8 to drive it. i dont know 17 kmpl is real or..., but can say surely who so ever buys it will be happy with performance of the Car. 1100 cc + 17 kmpl, unbeaten...
    Economical too.
But i have seen that the engine is kept parallel, does it have any adverse effect on cooling, or any thing else.

  56. on 10 Oct, 2008 at 03:39 PM Rohit Kapoor (Lucknow)

This car is good buy for the crowded city with narrow roads, as its width is lesser than other cars. it might not be a perfect car for big families, but for an atomic family its fantastic. If you have 3.5 Lacs in your pocket, you can enjoy all the features available in seden segment cars.
otherwise if you have good money to invest then why not to go for SX-4, Indigo LS with must performance and big looks.

I am also planning to buy my first car. Still confused between wagon R and Estilo. Pls through some light on "Wagon R vs Estilo. " What about looks of estilo from the front, doesn't it look like a toy? Pls comment.

  58. on 17 Oct, 2008 at 11:56 PM Prakash (Pune)

Dhirendra, it is not looking like a toy but it is sporty. morever it is stylish than wagon R. It is really very very very good car....

  59. on 23 Oct, 2008 at 02:20 AM Tejas

i purchased Zen Estillo last month and found it simply superb in its segment.
    1) Economical
    2) Stylish (Mini Innova)
    3) Good mileage

    5) good value for money

  65. on 08 Feb, 2009 at 07:56 PM Harjit Sidana

The car ZEN ESTILO is a great value for money. Smooth engine and great mileage 16 KPL in city. Rear leg room is a bit less, but then u are getting boot space inlieu. Perfect in its class as interiors are good.

    Dear all,
I am using this car for the past six months an I am happy. The problem of gear tight will be solved only after 10,000 kms.You take a test drive of any Zen Estilo which has covered 10,000 kms and you will never find any gear shift problem.

    Rahul

  67. on 21 Feb, 2009 at 12:09 PM Rahul Chandran

I spoke with the service engineer from Maruti who visit our service centre Indus Motors,Cochin. He told me to test drive another Estilo which had completed 10,000 kms.To my surprise it did not have any problem with gear shift. If you need any further clarifications please call me on 09349250730.I am very much happy that I bought this car.

i am 6 month old user of estilo. Now i am facing some problem with the back gear, which is because of the less space between the front seats, and evn between the gear shaft and driver seat. when i went for the service i asked to the guys, they thold me that this problem exist in evry car in this maruti segment.
so definately its a problem with no solution.
i m even frustated with this.
another problem is with the tyres, that has come across in recent past.
Maruti provides tyres of J K Tyres

  69. on 28 Mar, 2009 at 11:45 PM Gaurav

i bought zen estillo lxi Jan 2007 , its gr8 car, i have drive 21000 km ,no prob till date... little bad on rear leg room but ok to justify price tag also. A/c mindblowing cannot tolerated more than half hour ....mileage 15-17. I drive car from delhi-kullu-manali-manikaran-dharamshala-delhi...good performance no obstruction....one major cons:- front glass become cloudy very soonly..why i dont know... but can be cleared by A/C blower in 2-5 sec

  70. on 31 Mar, 2009 at 02:31 PM Pinki (Bangalore)

I Recently went for the Test Drive of ZEN Estilo VXI and found that the car is too smooth to drive with good mileage, nice look, good leg space and a very powerful AC,so sound that my ear which behaves erratically if the AC is too strong, started acting wierd. I have already taken the car for myself, it has very beautiful color range as well espescialy the ones with metallic finish and the price is something which makes it even more tempting.

  71. on 23 Apr, 2009 at 06:25 PM Prateek

hi everyone, i'm planning to buy estilo Vxi, and i tested chevrolet spark too...what i found was that while driving if u turn on the ac in estilo, engine makes a slight jerk and looses some power ,as it used to happen in old cars too...but in spark no matter at what speed u r driving, be it 10 or 100, no matter how many times u turn on ac or turn it off, it makes no difference on power, while driving u can't make out when is ac switched on....but can be easily experienced while driving estilo.

  72. on 23 Apr, 2009 at 06:28 PM Prateek

Also while driving spark, even when the car was in 4th gear and speed of 25, it didn’t make even a single jerk, and had a superb pick-up in 3rd and 4th gear too…didn’t try this in estilo…plz give ur reviews while comparing estilo and spark

  73. on 16 May, 2009 at 12:43 PM Tusharpasrija

Vxi-Red-March 2008 Model: Major gearshift problems-3 services over and every service station has a new excuse but the car is zippy and easy to handle. With the AC on, it becomes a bullock cart with the bullock trying to pull with all strength but cart not moving along...all in all a mixed bag. Is there anyway where this gear problem can be escalated and solved by Maruti (not the dealer or service stations)

  74. on 11 Jun, 2009 at 07:05 AM Lakshminarasimhan (Chennai)

All these statements depend on what you compare with. My opinion - If Estillo is not VFM then no other car in this segment is. <3.7 you get Power Steering+PowerWindows+Body Coloured bumpers+ iCATS +Central Locking system (5 Dr)+ a decent boot space (not to compare Indica or SWIFT).
CONS: Rear Seats are not comfortable as against the old ZEN. The rear view mirror has design flaws. SideMirror is a :-(, AC is OK (Chennai Summer). Mileage 13+ in city (depends on driving style & your Clutch usage

  75. on 20 Jun, 2009 at 01:47 PM Sanyalindranil

I am going to buy this car because this looks like high end ones but very cost effective. Technically also it is very good.
