I purchased i10 Magna on MArch 12, 2008 after considering options from Santro, accent, getz, U-va, Swift and SX4. I choose to go with i10 because of its initial reviews. However, the car is overall OK but fuel economy is quite bad. I am getting an overall mileage of around 9 (50% time Ac on) on Delhi city driving. Its a big hole in my pocket. I am wondering y i hv not purchased a mide size car with better fuel economy. Even two of my friends has also purchased i10 and getting the more or less same mileage. Hyundai peple assured me that it will give a mileage of around 15-16 on city roads. I fm feeling cheated. Till date i hv completed 1600 kms and first service done. If anyone is planning to buy i10, please bear the furl consumption in mind. Santro may be a better option.

In India we people are always looking for fuel economy options which i1o does not seems to achieve. Facinating interiors are last feature in india.

Fuel economy of vehicle doesn't matter a lot in actual sence because how much money one can save in app.10 years run-ten thouasand or twenty thousand, the amount which can not change one economic life.It is fact the look, design, comfort and taste which makes one to go for cars like I-10 or Zen.If u really want to save money then just go for TATA's Indica.

Rahul, taste and comfort are definately one should consider at the time of buying, but please apprecitae most of the people who are buying small cars are definately lokk for a better mileage, as cost of car may be one time but operating cost will be of the lifetime of the car.AND DONT FORGT, company is claiming mileage atleast 10% higher than santro. As far as style & comfrt, we r payng xtra 4 dat over santro or Indica. And trust, i m not denying the positivs but highlightng negatives.

I don't know how come you are getting so much less mileage. I've completed 1800 kms, first service done and I'm getting 14-15 kmpl.

Hyundai service guys told me that I'll get more mileage after second servicing. My friend is getting about 18kmpl of mileage without a/c with his 1 year old i10.

Nw i hv completed 2500 kms on my i10 magna. Mileage in city still hovering around 10 kmpl. However, during my two outstation trips, milegae was around 14 kmpl. Two services done. Gear shifting is ftill a problem, specially reverse gear which stuch many a times and u need to pres and releae the clutch couple of times to change the gear. Other problem area is that the lock of the boot of the car is combined with drivers side lock.If driver sidedoor is not locked, yr boot is also open. Its risky guy

swift vxi definetely wins over i10 & spark. splash will be launch by end of may 2009, with the name of ritz. i think its really makes sense to wait for ritz (just 1 month to go..)

Hyundai should call back all i10 and remove the beige colour from dash which is obstructing vishion markedly in day light.

I purchased i10 magna kappa two months back - getting 15 kmpl local. dealer service is good but product itself is not so good. I have shifted from wagon-r to i10 but have done drastic mistake. Moreover, facing problem in rains when water enters in new car. A person buys new one to get assurance that we have to go to company for servicing only but I am visiting again and again to rectify the problem. Will Hyundai people look into my problem ? Can consumer courts help me ? pl advice

i AM LOOKING TO BUY I 10,ABOVE REVIEWS ARE CONFUSING,SO ANY ONE PLEASE SUGGEST IS BUYING A I 10 IS GOOD OR SHOULD LOOK IN TO SPARK OR A STAR.

  21. on 09 Sep, 2009 at 09:36 AM Ashish Gupta (New Delhi)

    Navin,

I10 is basically one grade above spark or A star. Though i heard that I10 with Kappa engine is better than the initial model of I10. You can explore that in addition to Fabia and swift, which are trusted cars in this segment.

After driving santro for 5 yrs exchnged it with a i10.Marked improvement in ride, but the poorly designed dash with biege colour interfering with vision.finally I painted the dash black which almost solved the problem, but I became poor by 5 thous.bucks!!

  23. on 12 Sep, 2009 at 10:05 AM Ashish Gupta (New Delhi)

I am fully agree with Spkolath. Beige dashboard is significantlt ostructing the vision. I think u hv done the right thing and i vil also do the same. Secondly, in the morning my car gives hicups the moment i start driving till about 500 meters and specially in 2nd gear. Do anybody feeling that problem as well.

I am having a tough time with the i10 dash board.. its a major design fault. hundai should do some thing about this, but milage is good i get around 12-14 in 100% AC in chennai city.
