The new X5 (E70) is a monster of a car yet has a real sense of finesse. With a real head-turning dominance on the road, the interior is equally palacial with great quality materials used throughout. The 3.0d engine is very powerful but, understandably, does not seem to have the Bhp to move this 2 ton machine very quickly from a standstill. That said, it will comfortably tow a caravan up to 1700kg through the Alps without complaint but don't expect it to hug the winding roads with the same sort of poise as a Porsche Boxter! Indeed, even with the M Sport model, there is notable body roll through medium to tight bends. Fuel economy is not fantastic returning about 30mpg combined but overall, Beauty really has met the Beast! Highly Recommended.
