Hi all of you. I have purchased my first car, The Spark. It was cheap considering the features provided therein. I had initially zeroed in on Maruti Zen Estilo and Santro. But the cost vrs. features brought the spark ahead of others. I am not sure about this advantage if the price increases i.e; the discount scheme is removed. My first experience : It is dead silent and very smooth. I have not driven much. I will be able to offer my practical view later.


As far the looks are concerned, it does turn the heads of the passers-by towards it. That does give a satisfying feeling to assuage my ego. Joking!.


My only concern, will GM close down? It is running huge loss of $45 billion as per its Annual Report. Will I get the spares in such an eventuality? I hope someone can redress my concern.

    Hey Satish, Dont you worry for GM closing down! It is the biggest carmaker world has ever seen! :) Yah true, it is in heavy loss, but most of it amounts to its restructuring in America Plants. It had to pay hefty amounts to its workers there when it layed off them. Elsewhere, in China, In Europe, In Korea, In Brazil, Its doing great! not to mention India!!In China alone, this first half of the year, it sold more than 6 lakh cars!     Yeah..i agreee with you Sushant ...GM is world's number One..and The tough steps it i staking now will bear fruits when the Agreement with teh worker will finish and one can see the mind blowing performances..so its just a matter of time...Trust is the word which GM means....So dont worry..Satish.......you are lucky you got at this price.....Enjoy the SPARK in your Life....

    Hi Susant,
    I have now run about 500 km. The car is real smooth one.It is really inviting the attention of the on-lookers. That does give me a high, really. One of my Office collegues was dead against my purchasing the Spark. I took the car to my Office and gave him the keys for a trial after purchase. He has 5-6 cars in his house including an i10. After the run,he was elated and said that this is a very good car. It has a very good ht. and pick up and was fully satisfied.That gave me a new hig

    Dont worry GM is going to be no 1 in india soon. In this slow down GM is able to maintain it's market share in india. where all other loose . so. you can imagine.
