Pros : Pick-up, Great look, Boot space, Great milage, Great interior, Comfortable seats.
Cons : Lack of ABS option in VDi Model, Otherwise perfect sedan for entry level.

Myself is SPS Gill from Agra,

: I was driving Maruti Wagon R VXi for last three years

:I got this car on May 2008. I have average run of 500kms/Month. Till now i completed 12000 kms. The average I getting is 18-20kms/lts on fourlane highway, 15-16 kms/ltr in city and overall 17.5km/ltrs.

: Before booking this car I gone for other models of Diesal cars i.e.- Ford fiesta, Ford Fusion, Fiat multijet, Tata Indigo CS/XL, Hyundai Verna and I Compared them thoroughly and at last I selected this Car.

: Before Dzire, I was going for swift VDi with ABS and I had booked that car but after looking Dzire I changed my mind and cancelled my booking for swift VDi.

:Now I realise that I had taken the good decision by opting Dzire insted of swift VDi.

:This car not only gives great performance of swift diesal but also it have great look and space as of other high end sedan cars.

: The Engine is powerful, great torque, silent inside, stable at high speed,

: In built CD player is not up to Mark so I added sony woofer and amplifier in the car by taking advantage of great boot space, now sound is great.

: Breaking at high speed could be better if ABS is added as standard specification.

:AC cooling is very very effective, actually chilling.

:Company should remove name Swift from the car, they should use name only "DZIRE" for this model.

:If you are looking for sedan, you should go for it, this car is a real beauty and great value for money. If you can spend little more money then go for verna, fiesta or even scoda.

: Suspention is also good, big tyres give great control even at high speed.

:Company should make some change in the front look of the car, at least change the headlight of
the car so from front it could look differ from swift. vo kehte he na "saamne se dekha to laga swift chali aa rahi he, jab bagal se nikal gai aur pichhware par najar padi to pata chala swift
nahi Dezire chali jaa rahi he"

: I made a trip to Nainital dehradoon from agra on diwali leave, total run was more then 1200 kms in one week,, at times very poor roads between aligarh n chandousi,,, on bed roads i just deflated tyre pressure by 5-6 points. it really helps on reducing vibration and noice. on highway fourlane, i kept tyre pressure around 36-38 for better pickup n average, the car was fully loaded,, the overall ride was perfect without any problem at all,,,

    Hi Mr Gill,
    I also own a dzire VXI and totally agree with ur response of audio quality. U have metioned abt alteration made by adding sony woofers.
    Culd u pls let me know whether u have replace the speakers or just find new place for them. What does it cost.

    hellow anurag, thanks for reading my comment, i had not made any alteration in original fitting of car audio system, i just added sony amplifier with sony woofer unit with woofer box in the boot space. connection for woofer is given in the deck's back, and power for woofer taken directly from battery, woofer on off conected with audio system on off, total cost come around 3200/-for woofer, 3000/- for amplifier and 1000/- for the box, total 7200/-

    Just wanted to know one thing, how did you calculated the mileage and how much you have driven till now, mine is done 2500 KM and the avergae mileage I got on highways is 16.6.

    hi pankaj, i calculated mileage by tank full to tank full total Lts and deviding total Kms by total Lts, u r right that average mileage is 16-17kms/ltrs, but mileage on highway alone is more taen 19 kms/Lts

    Hi Dr. Gill, I purchased Dsire vxi 7 days back.I am also in Noida. The average comes to 8-10 k.m.after running for 200 k.m. Whether average is low initially and increases gratually after first service or should I contact Maruti Dealer.

    hi Anonymous, is it ur name, well u r getting average of 8-10 km/ltr, ok, actually what we r telling war average of diesal version of dezire, u purchased petrol version i think as u mentioned(VXi), that model have lower mielage then VDi model but not that mush lower i.e. 8-10km/lt, u shoud get at least 13-14km/lt on highway n 10-12km/lt in city, so ur car should perform better after first service or u may have bad driving habit, sorry i say may, ok best of luck, keep in touch

    Hi Dr Gill..I ve booked swift dzire VXi and i agree with your point that the audio system is not up to mark. So i was planning to change the speakers completely which some people say is not possible and if possible will not give that satisfaction. So please let me know incase if you have any information on this.

    hi vicky, well i not changed the speaker system provided with the car, i only added the sony woofer to current nippon audio system, now there r some improvement in the bass quality of the sound, but over all quality in not up to the mark as compare to complete Sony X-plod system. u can change the speakers but i dont think that it will improve the sound quality as source of sound is nippon, jab jad (root) hi kharab he to phal (fruit) kaise badiya ho sakta he,

    Hi,

    As you have been using the car for sometime, what's your view on the braking power of the car, I found the brake little too hard to push. When I checked with maruti guys they told for Dezire that is one issue

    hi Mr Singh, i already mentioned bout braks of the car, this car should have ABS in VDi version, although the brakes given r not so hard to press, i never got such problem,,,,,,,

    Hello Mr Gill, just want to have an idea of cost of maintenance of the diesel model that you are owning? Also do you think Zdi is wase of money or Vdi is better? How does ABS make a difference?

    hello Mr Vivek, well about maintaenance, till now my car is under free service coverage,,,, i dont think that this car need take more maintenance cost,,, VDi is more value for money then ZDi, VDi have all necessory things, i only feel that VDI lakes of ABS as compared to ZDi,ABS is really helpful in high speed n wet surface...

    Dear Dr. Gill,

    I am a woman who has booked a Dzire VDi. I am a decent driver, have driven for years - mainly in city, some on highways, but in smaller hatch backs.

    One comment on hard brakes worried me. Is it something that I would be able to manage? I did not notice it during the test drive...

    well, tnx for asking me, congrates for ur awaiting Dezire,,, nothing to worry bout brakes, really,, that r not bad,,, i myself never notice any problem so far,, but my opinion is that is should have ABS,, but nothing to worry bout that,, that is luxury not necessity....

    I have dzire ZDI, i would like to ask u that have u maintained the speed of 80 till 5000 km. cause my service advisor has asked me to do so cause of new engine. cause accoring to me nowadays vehicles comes with engine free state unlike in 90s. also it becomes very boring to travel at 80 on highways especially on express highway. Also i would like to mention that after 1st servicing i go avge of 21, both in city and highway conditions & u r advice on sound system is really good.

    Hellow Mr Rajesh-- Congrates for dzire ZDi, i dont think that u should maintain the speed of 80 for initial 5000 kms,for speed of 120 u need to touch only 3000rmp in 5th gear, avoid unnecessory pushing of speed in lower gears, u r getting really gr8 average,

    hi jayasimha,,, how r u,,very congrats for ur upcoming new car,,, u asked bout ABS in VDi, i also very disappointed my absence of ABS option in VDi, i dont think that u can add ABS in VDi,bcos this is not availabe outside as accessory, only company can add it in car,,,u should email the maruti suzuki for this, they might help y... rest best of luck, rest the car is very good,,,,welcome to the club...

    In 5.5 lack, for sedan u have option of LOGON, TATA Indigo CS and dzire. i think u should directly go for dzire only.

    Great package at this cost.

    Good performance, Great look,, good boot space, good balancing......

    Great economy and overall great performance.........

    After Dzire,,, TATA Indiga CS is also good choice but Dzire is the best

    Mr. ur inputs were quite enlightning.I am planning 2 go 4 Dezire but am not sure which one- Vxi or Vdi? What is the likely maintenance budget for diesel version over petrol one over a 5 year period? I was told that an accidental adulturated diesel ( hihway fillings ) can be a very costly maintenance affair. Is that so? Ur inputs will be very very helpful in my decision. Thanx.

    In between ZDi n VDi, in my opinion VDi is value for money,,n ZDI is Luxury but costly, about 1 lack more then VDi, i think u should go for VDi, SPS Gill...
