I am writing to inform you of my experience with Hyundai Accent CRDi bought in 2005. It was good until I took it for my first paid service. It was like they were waiting for me. 8k was my first bill. Subsequent 10k another 7.5k bill. It is 3 years old now and the front axle broke. Imagine that? Even FIAT which are decades old don't have this problem. Replacement cost 40k. I have a Toyota qualis bought in 2001 and it has done 100k km. Total maintenance costs that I may have paid so far in 7 years is around Rs 35k. Those of you planning to buy a Hyundai car (irrespective of the model), be careful. It will last 3 years without any problem and after that it will create a BIG hole in your pocket. I was warned, but did not listen. Now I regret. Hope you don't make the same mistake again. I am putting up the car for sale.

Dear Srao. A lot depends on how the car is used and driven. Many people complanied about the Santro being bad etc, but mine is 8 years old now and it is in immaculate condition. I have also gone in for a Hyundai Accent GLE recently.

For that matter any car be it a Maruti 800 or a BMW 7 series, will let you down if improperly driven. I am not saying that you would have driven rasly etc, but generally this is what happens. Many times ppl neglect these aspects.

Do Not feel bad suspension probs are the norm in India due to bad roads.
The most reliable cars are Toyota and Honda. There are toyotas and hondas which have been driven for more than 200000kms and are still going strong. In the JD power car survey which measures customer satisfaction The 2 Jap brands come No 1,2 or 3 in most categories. Hyundai still has a long way to go.
