This is one of the best cars ever launched in India. But people are reluctant to use this car because of the fear of availability of spares and services. But the reality is most of the spares are available. The car is really stylish, both inside and outside. The ride quality is best in its category in both front and back seats. You feel the difference in long drives. Regarding the fuel economy – the car really performs in highways, but an average car in city ride. Also the car is very safe compared to most other hatchbacks in India. It is the only car which passed the stringent 40% crash test in India. The leg space is very good both front and back, but Daewoo reduced the boot space.

Initially when you start riding this car, you may not get excited because of its slow pickup and the poor gear shift – especially in second and reverse gears. In fourth and fifth gears you can really feel the performance of the car. Another growing problem is some insurance companies are reluctant to give insurance for this car.

Overall the car is good and Matiz is an international brand. More over GM is planning to re-launch the car in India in the name Spark. Already they did it in many countries. We hope we can get back this wonderful car.

    Matiz is incredible in terms of ride quality, mileage and comfort. I've never seen such qualities put together in a small car. I own a matiz and it delivers 17.5kmpl. When you compare other cars in this segment i.e Maruti 800, Alto(under 800cc category), it's matchless & value for money.

    I ve just sold my Matiz SD Model after seven years of usage for want of Bigger Car.It has never given me any trouble. Not even i have replced the Bulbs. Still sometimes i get guilty Conscious by selling this car.

    Matiz is a good car, but the service is not. Vijay Motors have screwed my cute Matiz and they are really bad in responding. So careless about customers. I gave my Matiz for simple service, they drove irresponsibly and spoiled my Matiz. Be aware of Vijay Motors in Bangalore.

    Matiz is excellent car, and still today no comparision about the car features. I am having this car since yer 2000. Due to poor sale price reason, I got to refurbish its engine and other desired moveable parts,tyres,battery,a/c etc. Now it is as good as new one.
    It is my good stand by car to take joy of ride within city.Goodluck to have best small car of its own class.

    I own a Matiz SD for >9 years with full satisfaction such that we dont want to replace it with a new sadans like TATA,Mahindra and GM as their performace does not come at par. But now we need to replace a delco and a hose pipe set for engine-radiator which are not available in Ahmedabad even at GM. Where to procure them?

    I own Matiz for last 5yrs,crazy for looks only,not happy with performance.Till date not single model can match with this car,can any company come with same model with power engine,i will be first byer....

    I own a Dec 2000 model Matiz SD which has so far clocked 99000+ km.Though mostly driven in and around Chennai,I have taken it to Kerala on two occasions, once in 2004 and recently in May 2009. The details of my recent trip which included ghat sections are as under;
    Distance travelled : 1500 km
    Speed driven : 90-110 km/h for better milage
    Occupants : 4
    Average milage : 18 km/litre without AC

    I have seen a Matiz car to purchase. The details of the same are as under :
    1) Model - 1999
    2) KM covered - 6000 (Six thousand) only
    3) First hand
    4) price - 1,25,000/-
    5) AC - Working
    6) Tyre condition - Redial all new
    7) Looking - Similar to new
    Keeping in view of above details, please tell that as per the price, this car will be beneficial for me or otherwise.
