This is the the best car for this price tag.

I have completed 13,000KM. Including three long drives of 600 KM each.

This is a no problem vehicle.

Relief from frequent gear change.

Third gear is really good. On this gear you can drive in slow moving traffic below 10 km/h speed and also can maintain speed of  60 km/h with the same gear.

Car is spacious inside. Seats are broad. A/C is too good.

I have done with Second servicing. Mileage

is 19+ in city (A/C usage 20% in travel). I have checked it so many times. :)

Suspensions are good, get a feel of Volvo bus travel.

I met with a small accident, which proved it sturdiness. No damage at all :)

Some drawbacks I would like to mention are

Clutch is little heavy. Turning radius is big. Compressor fan is little noisy.

    Hi Rahul

hey can you please tell me how is the after sale service??
i am really keen on buying this car but am worried only about their services

  2. on 04 Jun, 2008 at 09:58 AM Rahul

Hi Sandeep. Now a days even Toy Cars are also maintainance free :). I already have Santro and Maruti 800 which are 8 years old and we never needed to open its engine. So do not worry about its maintainance. Fiat has opened its own showroom in Bangalore named "Red and white shop" so they can give you good service. I have completed 2500 Km and very happy with this car.

howz is the car.. what is the mileage ??
can i go with fiat SDE MULTIJET from hyd...

Hi, Now I have done 4500. It has become more smooth now. Go for SDX. rear wiper and other stuff helps a lot. Some people which I met personaly say that there multijet gives milage of 20+. My multijet may need some tuning, it gives 16-17. I am absolutely happy with this car.

    Hi
I too own a SD. Getting 19.93 KMs for a litre of normal diesel. Turning radius and interior is trouble some, but ride particularly in not so good roads are fabulous. Moreover, you see cars only in Rear view mirrors when you drive in ring roads etc. Handling, stability, braking is fabulous.
I like the way, pillion riders and driver of cars turn around and look at my car. Its a true beauty a furnase red one

    Thanks

Its the best looking hatch in India. One more thing i would like to add is that the palio multijet produces 0.8 KGM less torque than swift diesel. This has been done by Fiat to reduce turbo lag and boost low end response(torque). This makes the car fuel efficient and achieve much better instant accelaration in any gear than swift.

Hi Rahul - Just wanted to check on the shop you mentioned that is Fiat owned, is that true if so can have the complete details and location of the service centre. I not able to believe that Fiat has its own service center in Bangalore

    Thanks

I have just test driven Palio Stile Multijet and got a chance to compare it with the new Indica Vista and Swift, both equipped with the same engine. Must say that I was more impressed with the performance and impeccable road manners of Palio. The rear seat comfort is better than both the other cars. The only jarring note was the view of the road in front due to the instrument cluster which comes in the way, which happens to be better in both the remaining cars.

    Hi Rahul ,

Just want to know how you drive during below 1000Kms. Does Palio MJD require running in period.

  17. on 10 Dec, 2008 at 09:32 AM Rahul

Actually I drived 1000 Km within a week time. It was below 80 km/hr. It has happened that I did not drive my car for week or two weeks but after that no starting problem. so I do not think it reqires daily running. Fiat has already provided good tricks to drive a car on fiat-india site.

is there any problem with stile 1.3 gear box?

  26. on 18 Oct, 2009 at 11:38 PM Rahul

No problem in gear box? Do you also own palio multijet?

  27. on 03 Nov, 2009 at 04:55 PM Haydn (Mumbai)

hi my name is haydn and i have a second hand multijet driven about 27000 and the cars is awesome no noise no rattles and takes off like an aircraft. realy value for money. The best thing is when you start you cant make out if it is a diesel or a petrol. FIAT engines rock.

  29. on 17 Nov, 2009 at 06:11 PM Rahul

    Hi Rahul,
I am planning to go for SDX in a copule of months. All these days got confused with MJD punto and MJD palio and decided to go for palio due to the less price tag. How do u rate your car after almost 1 1/2yr driving?

  31. on 17 Nov, 2009 at 07:29 PM Rahul

Yes, Price is less and inner space is bigger than Punto.
After one plus year, I am happy and think I took good decision.
The comfort and luxury you feel in the car is more compare to the price of the car.
    Mileage is 20+ in city.

Thanks Rahul for ur immediate reply. I appreciate that.
