The design and interior are gorgeous. Such a fabulous model in such a low price.
More spacious extra boot space and the advantage of SWIFT i.e. as its based on swift platform. The engine is same as the old swift.

It has power it has milage it has comfort it has safety and many more.......
its good looking and we get the features of the high price cars in such a affordable price.

This will give a tough fight to the boxy LOGAN and the TATA's INDIGO.

Today i saw the car in the showroom.
    its really good
I am booking my car on monday (Swift VXI ABS)
but i changed my mind after reading the reviews in Carwale and comparing the VXI ABS with Dzire.

    its really amazing car.
Only concern is have to compromise for ABS in VXI and milege may drop a bit.

But overall worth buying, I think so.

    Cost difference is too good.

The interior and the leg room inside is too good!!
Its one of the best car to choose from!

I test drive the car yesterday. First petrol version was not available. They claimed to book 9 cars with waiting period of 2 months means car launched without any inventory or un-necessary hype. From outside the car is good but interior is pathetic. Plastic used is really bad. Steering column is not good and touches the knee, if u push the seat back, then handling is problem. Bit disappointed with the car. If one compare it with Exteem, baring look, it is nowhere close.

Ig the steering column touched your knee, then you should know that it is adjustable, yes, the steering and driver's seat are adjustable in top end model. Hence, there is no problem with the spce inside. The rear seats have been inclined bakwards, meaning more comfort. The plastic could have been a bit more better, but is good enough to enjoy a comfy ride. No ways that you are going to sit on the dashbord...or are you!!
Go for it guys, top end model is really exiciting with features of 8+ lac.

hello anshul, urs look like bias opinion... Thanks sanjiv for honest feedback.

the adjustable stearing feature must be included to all the variants. For such a feature you have to buy a top end model. I mean to say this feature is available in the Hyundai i10 basic model.

car is an emotional buy. i liked the car but its not available for delivery. each dealer gives a different picture, but overall we need to wait for 2-4 months by which this summer is gone.maruthi suzuki is creating a hype or marketing strategy or are they really not ready with stocks?

True, What is the point in lauching a car? If it cannot be made available for the 3-4 months.

I booked a Dzire VXI on 28th March with Rohan Motors, Noida & was told that there is a waiting period of 45 days for petrol models whereas Competent Motors in Delhi claims to have a waiting period of 2 weeks for the same. Either one of the dealers is not projecting the real picture or Maruti has priority dealers which does not project a good image of the company. The company in a bid to stop customers from buying competing cars have adopted an unfair tactic of launching a car without inventory

thats true yar for any new car there is a craze in our mind but if they said that the car will be delivered to u after 45 days or 2 weeks what so ever this makes the buyer nervous. The company should make available the product as soon as possible.

It is very pathetic, I had booked Dzire VXI from Pratham Motors, bangalore on 31st of March 2008 they took almost 15 days to confirm me the delivery time after much persuation they told maruti is giving only 2 vehicles per month so you need to wait from 5 to 6 months to get the vehicle.I think Maruti udyog feels that it is fair for the delears to collect customers money without giving any proper response to the customers.

I ahve booked ZXI ,on 28/03/08. and the showroom assistant told me it will be delivered within 45 days, but after one week ,he is telling that he is not sure about the waiting period, may be 2 or 3 months ! this is rediculous, and its cheap tactics to stop people from buying freely available AVEO,ford,Verna cars ! are martui people out there listening !

  13. on 21 Apr, 2008 at 12:08 PM Raviprakash (Mumbai)

After going through all the above comments, will it remain a cheap and best model for a middle class family? Truely speaking waiting period is not proper since newer models are comming and in this compititive world, waiting period means nothing but suicidal. Hence once determined one should be made available the cars.

In my point of view, the price quoted for the Dzire, and the constraints raised by different people may be a problems solving for other car manufacturers which depend on publi

Car looks to be good except the tyre width too small for this size of the car, but the waiting is too long with a minimum deposit of Rs75000 with the dealer, (Sagar motors at Bennarhatta road) As per them it will take +4 months, and will be more than happy to delay as much as they can to take advantage of the interest on the huge deposit, at least they should reduce this to Rs10000 or less.

DZire looks gorgeous since I never really liked the boxy looks of Swift( looks like a sitting frog to me!). So you pay that extra money not only for the boot but also for the improved looks. Suspension, rear leg room and a very mediocre plain jane dashboard are few disappointments one has to live with if you want a sedan at that price. I also found steering in VDI model( which is not adjustable) quite low and the foot pedals too crowded(especially when compared to Hyundai cars).. And waiting...

If Maruti Suzuki has a serious delivery problem of specific models they should publicize so through news papers and inform dealers to stop booking.

  17. on 08 May, 2008 at 01:23 PM Dr Bajaj

booked the car top end model Zxi/ they said they will deliver it in 4-5 weeks. The time has passed.I booked it on 3rd day of launch.I was the first to book the Zxi model. Now the dealer say it will take more time. How much - no reply? maruti launched the car with much fanfare? I think home work not done properly. Why show full page advertisement if you can not deliver the car.
I wish maruti gives me SX4 at the same price since they failed to keep their commitment

  18. on 12 May, 2008 at 11:02 PM San Mir (Mumbai)

I am interested in buying a Dzire Vxi.About a fortnight ago, Excell Autovista(Bandra,Mumbai) stated that the delivery will take 4-6 weeks. But lat week when I visited them, they said it has increased to 6 months. I think Maruti is hoarding cars in a deliberate attempt to create more excitement around their product. I mean they are selling a Dzire not a Rolls Royce or a pvt jet!!
They are nuts if they think there will be customers who will keep on waiting. They will just go to competition.simple

  19. on 16 May, 2008 at 06:21 PM Raghav

I have heard it too but my friend got his Dzire in 4 weeks. It is really in demand. Its not hype, but the fact is indeed the best car in its category. Maruti probably had not expected this kind of overwhelming response. Surely its worth the wait.

Though you are saying cool on fuel efficiency, you didn't mention the mileage per litre. Could someone please give the mileage related details. Thanks

  21. on 24 Jul, 2008 at 12:02 AM Mohnish Dhurve (Nagpur)

Hi Gitanjali i think the mileage per liter is same as the Swift, as its Engine is same as the Swift's Engine i.e. around 15-16.
