I have done 3500 Kms.  In hilly region, beware of riding in low speed or low gear.  Even in 1st gear, the car threatens to stall if the terrain in steep.  I learnt my lessons in Ooty and later started to run only on 1st or 2nd gear in hilly region with maintaining atleast 15kmph power to avoid stalling of the car.  If by any chance, the car stalls in hilly region, I will use the clutch to gain power and be done with it. In other roads, there is absolutely no problems.  I maintain an average speed of 90-100 Kmph in clear roads and about 70-80 Kmph on country roads.  I get a mileage of around 19 kmpl.  AC is really powerful.  Probably switching off AC during hilly terrain may improve the initial pickup  and avoid stalling.   One can easily go without worrying on any bad road without any worry at low speeds.  The CD player that is provided is not upto the expectations.  Please do not use any turbo diesel or special types of additives to the diesel.  The engine tends to knock.  Always use the ordinary but pure diesel and save your money and engine.  The turning radius, ground clearance, overall size of the car, legroom for people upto 6ft, driving comfort are all good.  No other car can beat this car in the road in terms of pickup and top speed.  But you should get the correct driving tactics.  unless you get a clear road, do not change to lower gear as the car tends to accellerate itself automatically taking the driver by surprise and prompting him to either use the brakes or clutch to lower the speed of the car.  BEfore buying this car, I have conducted research for almost eight months through carwale.  I found that Ford fiesta diesel may be much more good than this car.  But when it comes to pickup, legroom, and ground clerance, I thought Verna out beats Ford Fiesta.  I also compared this car with Toyota Innova.  Except it's mammoth size, poor fuel economy, Toyota Innova is better.  But I always move around with only 3 or 4 persons with lots of luggage.  For this less persons, all my people stated that Innova may be very huge, and costly.   Further when I enquired with my friends, all of them who have bought Ford Fiesta though said that the car is very good, the after sales service is very bad and also expensive.  Further i also learnt that the service outlets charge very disproportionately making you lose lots of money on service.  Hence I zeroed in on Verna and bought one from Trident Hyundai Bangalore.  After the sales, the feed back was good and also the service was good .  Further the company provides extended warranty, which is not required.  If one goes through the promo material, he can easily conclude that many articles and risks are not at all covered .  The main reason for getting into engine trouble as I see is due to absense of periodical mainatinance and negligent handling.  So I suggest that once in 5000 kms. the cars fuel filter should be changed.  Further once in 10000 kms., the oil filter, engine oil, fuel filter and air filter if changed, will ensure the optimum maintainance of the engine.  Hence there is no requirement for any additional warranty .  Further for full tank of diesel add 100 ml of pure engine oil as mixture which will ensure the optimum engine performance.  This I am stating  out of my experience of handling diesel engines from 1996.    As soon as the car fuel reaches 1/4 level, refill the diesel to full at a trusted diesel bunk.  Maintain correct tyre pressure of 33 points through an electronic tyre pressure regulator.  Drive at speeds 80-100 kmpl and you are bound to get good mileage and good engine life.

Mr.Ravi, Would you please tell me on road price, maintenace price and reliability.

Mr. Francis, on road price at Bangalore is Rs.957000/-. The car has gone only for first service in which I have not paid anything. But in 2nd service, on change of oil, oil filter, airfilter, and fuel cartridge, I think the average maintainance costs may come up to Rs.4000/-. But think of leaving your car for service once in 6 months or on completion of 10000 Kms when compared with other cars which ask for maintainance once in 5000 kms. So I think this car has got both the power and edge.

I enquired about the engine oil addition to diesel tank. But came to know that it is not required to the car due to it's advanced technology Hence I discontinued the oil addition to the diesel. Further I also came to know that this car runs well only on ordinary diesel . Hence I have switched to ordinary diesel itself. further some experienced car owners also adviced me not to frequently wash the car with water in order to avoid body corrosion.

Bad ...very Bad ....why Hyundai verna not having AIR BAGS for safty purpose?????
I saw two verna's bad position(life lose) in accidents...!!!now a days meny small cars having Air bags...!!!! but why verna don't have Air Bags. being a good car , economy, good talk in the market hyundai should notice even Ford Fiesta also lanched Air Bags, If verna have Air Bags & rear parking sensors it will do well.
