I waited for over four months to check out for Fabia. Thought prize is slightly higher. Wanted to go for Petrol variant. But finally after a lot of research on Car's..test drives of all available options in Hatchback and mid size sedan's...tracking comments on over 50 blogs..and consulting friends..finally I have taken Ambient 1.4 TDI PD Diesel Version, Biege color for myself and Red Classic for my brother-in-law. Will surely update on performance soon. Prima faci..i m convinced on my decision..

Hey...have you heard SWIFT?? I am getting 17kmpl in Kolkata...diesel...

Swift is a decent car from Maruti Suzuki Stable..but Interior, Safety and features are not comparable to Fabia..And Eurpean Engineering is unmatchable..My Fabia is giving average of 20+ in city...

Its definitely worth its price. The interior, exterior, safety measures and the mileage are all perfect. Moreover, its strange its been compared with "B" segment maruti swift, when it belongs to premium "C" segment. The beauty speaks for itself and the boot space is the largest among so called small cars. Its not at all overpriced as far its features and competitors go. If we want to purchase some good car in lesser amount, its not wise to call that overpriced. Honest review found here at last.

i totally agree ! fabia makes people feel special !! im getting my fabia petrol next week ! swift is no way near the fabia brother !

hey Mr.Chandan please don't compare the fabia to your 17kmpl swift. It's not maruti fabia,it's SKODAAAA!!!1 fabia.I own an innova and it is not mahindra innova,it's TOYOTAAAAAA!!! innova.Recently one cousin bought an swift and one day when I sat in it and switched on the roof lamp the whole thing came off.the swift is cheaper than the fabia is because that the swift is really cheap. So kindly please don't compare: 1.the swift with the fabia. 2.the scorpio with the innova. And by the way

For those who are cribbing about Fabia's pricing against Swift VDi - Fabia Ambiente diesel is priced ex @ 7.5L as against swift VDI's 5.45L. Almost 2L difference is due to superior build quality, Airbags (20-30K), alloy wheels (20K), greater interior space and design, superior drive/braking, a foot longer chassis, superior interior plastics/equipments, rear defogger/wash wiper (can't believe that Swift Diesel doesnt have a defogger! Same mistake they did with Baleno LXi)etc. Just think about it

Mr.ajith you are exactly right.happy to see that there are some people with good knowledge about cars.

Fabia with reduction of Rs.18000.00, due to Excise Duty revision, becomes more attractive proposition..

What a fun? How many fabias do we see on the road, months after the launch. All I've found in Bangalore is one car. The verdict is clear. People who've been eagerly waiting for fabia launch have booked swift after that. We all know there's nothing great about Fabia, just another car, heavily over prized dumped by the masses.

The swift Diesel is the best vehicle Suzuki has produced in India in the last twenty years. The engine is truly amazing. The Fabia is more noisy. The Swift on the highway is like a Aircraft.

I strongly in favor of buying Fabia. But concerned about after sales service. For some reason till now I have hardly seen Fabia on Bangalore roads (may be 3 max). How its doing in other cities?

Fabia without those luxury features added, cannot be better that swift. Swift's engine is superior than Fabia's. Also, one has to admit the superior Build quality of Fabia. Hmmm.. if swift's build quality is as good as fabia, then there is no need to go for Fabia for those extra 2 lakhs. Skoda Fabia has the Build quality, Switf has the better engine. I would imagine swift's superb engine on Fabia, that would be a great vehicle.

Hey...don't you think rear seats of fabia are tad hard and uncomfortable on long journey

In Europe, Skoda is known for cheap and bad quality cars, in India they are premium! That apart, Fabia seems a good car. I am going for test drive tomorrow and if I like, I may end up buy pretty soon... Love - Sneha

I m driving swift for last 10 months VDI model. an awsum vehicle for city and highway driving though u may compromise on interior quality but engine makes it for all.......in 2nd gear ready to take on air...though skoda price is priced to high for a hatchback and engine anyday is worse than DDIS.skoda is TDI(old generation engine)....... for 7 lacs + honda, verna and fusion(diseal) . fiesta, are available. so y to go for small in price of fabia when big models
    are available.

I liked the Fabia at the first site but when saw on the road, the engine sound disturbed me. This will definitely have an impact in my decision to buy between swift and fabia. Also, it is a bit overprized.

fabia is a car for those people who have extra cash & dont know where to spend it.it sounds like a tata sumo or a 2 year old tata indica.swift is a gr8 car go 4 it $$$$$$$$$$$$

Both fabia and swift are good on their category. Did anybody tried applying brake at 160Km with Swift and Fabia. If not Do it. Swift will hobble (might skid) but Fabia will stop sticking to the ground. That will be the real comparison. Did anybody drove swift and Fabia up to 2 LAKH KM. Did anybody checked the Metal qualify used for the body of Swift and fabia. This will be the real comparison and it is obvious because you pay less for swift and more for fabia
