Big disappointment

Pros : Solid built, Marginally spacious rear & boot than swift
Cons : riduculous price, noisy engine, boxy looks, low ground clearence

Big disappointment after a long wait. Skoda did all wrong things for this car including the price. No huge improvement from swift in terms of interior or space, except the boot. Outdated boxy looks. Too noisy engine and cabin as well. Feels like sitting inside a maxicab. Under powered too. Not to comment on the ground clearence. Should be a cause of worry on our roads, if fully loaded. This car is worth sub 4 lakhs. Combined with the poor service & costly spares of skoda, this car is a total failure. Expected to be a swift killer but the result was other way. Good luck next time Skoda India, with a better model !!!

    I just called skoda dealer for price... what to say very high price. Price if kept btn 5 to 6.5 lakhs max would be decent. Notatall worth more than that. they would have thought about selling under "skoda" brand umbrella but indians are intelligent...

    I entirely agree...it always seemed overpriced...even the base petrol model. With Swift, Getz(including Cetz Prime), Indigo Compact Saloon offerring more VFM...THIS IS DOOMED TO BE A FAILURE

    Excellent review. Swift is a better choice any day. In the city it's so easy to handle. On the highway it just flies. Skoda even stopped marketing Fabia, realizing the mistakes. After all how many Fabias do we see on the road.

    First they took so long to bring this car to India and when finally decided, they killed it with keeping the tag too high. It may end up as a show piece from Skoda stable.

    i think to purchase a fabia, but thanks suraj u saved my money. no good look, very noisy, so spacious, more costly and no resale value!!!!!!!!!!

    Hey Guys,good news to buy Skoda Fabia 1.2 Mpi @ 5 11.. which is more abt 60k.than Swift.But it's Value for your money !Common Guys .. I am planning to go for Skoda ratherthan Swift.

    skoda fabia 1.2 petrol has been called back due to a technical fault with the octane available in India. Thefuel incompatibility has caused a great deal of heart burn for those waiting for the car. Am one such buyer perhaps i will cancel.

    Guys Go for Palio Multijet Diesel, Its a super car with a great price. Now with the TATA Joint Venture you will never have and servicing or spare problems.

    Know whats the mileage its giving in the city with A/C??? its 18km/lit YES its true.

    A star would be coming in the beginning of 2009, should be somewher in january. Its a good car as if now in pics. But fabia is total no no. we really don't wanna pay a lak extra for that sunroof.
