You can't truely compare captiva with any other car in the segment. I just took a test drive, and I must admit that I'm totally flattered by the handling and interiors.

The only downside of Captiva is bad fuel economy, gives around 5 on road... (As per the Chevorlet test drive guy).

If you are willing to pay a premium of 2 lakhs over CRV, then go for Captiva. It's worth the price...

Planning on buying one pretty soon.

714930.Owning and driving a car is not about fuel economy. All beautiful things are neconomically ugly.Owning and driving captiva will make U proud and envy in others eys.

    hi tilak,
your test drive guy has not specified fuel consumption city use or highway use.if it is 5km city use it is really poor for a 2 litre diesl engine.

i am sorry but it is wrong the captiva shines on fuel economy. It gives 15.9 kmpl on d highway and 11.9 in the city when driven between 80-85kmph.The captive is a two wheel drive but it drives fantastic. It is overall a much better package than the crv.....it is a great car.I am buying that for sure!

    Hi ,
I am planning to buy one my self.
But I am worried about the cooling in the 3rd row as they do not have the vent at the rear.
    Can you help.

i have already bought one ..the economy is arond 11.5 in city ..it is the most wonderful vehicle for highways..the interiers are mind blowin...With that gps system for an extra 22k it is a delight.the only issue that seemed to me was that the car does not pick up well on 2nd and 3rd gear if the motion is suddenly broken by another vehicle on a hilly rpad ...you need to shift on to 1st gear if the rpm is below 1500....i would suggest it is the best option right now in the market for that price..

    Hi All..
im Krunal and i work for GM india. Nice to see your honest blogs.
@ Sohan - GM is coming up with 4WD Captiva soon. as of now its 2WD but it delevers best in city and highways. All you need 4WD is on hills.

Captiva has the same engine that of Optra Magnum and it gives 320 Nm torque and a mileage of 10-12 in city.

@ Tejash - The Air conditioning is well effective upto the 3rd row.

How about Automatic version of Captiva? When it will be available? What's the news on Hummer? Is GM going to launch soon?

    Guys..

I was impressed while I took a test drive of Captiva. I am in the process of buying one ...infact, I have submitted the booking amt. But still, I am kind of nervous coz I am receiving mixed comments from all sides.

Some people r saying ..it is overpriced provided it is a complete unit being imported paying 100% duty. Some r concerned about the Fuel Economy and After Sales Service offered by Chevrolet. Finally, availability of spare parts n accessories (if damaged) is a concern.

Hi I am Rahul, and stunned by lookes and performance of captiva, I will definetely buy 1 if it will be available in Automatic mode. I even contacted your dealer for the same but they told me that only Manual Transmission is there yet. SO i have to wait coz i am looking only for automatic transmission. Regards

I am in a process of deciding for a city SUV.I was sure about CRV until I took a test drive of the Captivia. I cant make up my mind.I want you to help me even though you are a GM guy.

listen anybody confused about d crv and captiva look no furthur chevy is the choice.I drive 2 chevrolets its a fantastic experiance. The captiva is very economical compared to d crv being a diesal it wont burn a hole in your pocket. The engine dosn't let you feel that you are driving a diesal its extremly refined and powerful. The car begs you to go faster it drives awesome. The manual gearshift is no problem but GM should bring in the automatic.Talking about the interiors and space its better than

Talking about the interiors and space its better than the crv.Frankly speaking crv dos not appeal to me so much. The captiva looks like a true SUV.Overall in terms of economy, comfort, drive.looks, space it definately outclasses the crv and ther is no tension of aftersales service or spareparts GM is really working on it and it now has 117 outlets across the country.Servicing is sure not a problem.I am very happy with my chevy nd really glad to be a part of the GM family:-)

i have been using captiva since 2 months. The package is superb. The only things left out from the wish list are rear ac vents,4 wd and a reversing camera.avg is around 10.5 in city (ac).3rd row is cramped for adults but the climate control takes care of the cooling after about 3-5 mins in ahmedabad's hot climate.
