hi everyone , i had a few drives in the new hyundai i10 , and as a car resercher i love to test and drive al sort of cars and give a report to you people to make your buying easier

the Exterior - Exterior on the fron Nose looks very good and has good styling , but the rear taillights and the design doesnot look all that good

Space - Space on the inside is just fine and suitable for a family of 4 and it can squeeze in 5 too , and overall the space seems to be slightly better than the Santro and WagonR

Performance - the Engine 1.1 IRDE is quite good in handling and performs quite well and is much improved and i refined , the power is Decent and good

Interior - the interior is very updated and is the best in its segement , the Biege and black combination has been perfectly done by the hyundai and so is the gear box , very nice to Shft too

Fuel Economy - when i was testing and as the car was new i got 13KMPL in city and 16 in highway with AC , but one can expect the milage of i10 to be around 15 KMPL in city and 17- 18 in the highways

VALUE FOR MONEY - yes its indeed value for money , but i feel its slightly overpriced by 10k rs , cut Down the 10k rs and its a great Value for money and is the Best Overall Family Small Car

Thats it from me , hope you liked this Review

Cheers!!!

I agree to nice interiors, good design, everything.I would like to draw attention to the biggest and most dangerous flaw in the car.My i10 met with an accident at speed of about not more than 25km/h, hit a tree. Imagine....the engine block is broken. Now next time u see an i10, open the bonnet and u will be surprised to note that there is not even a single piece of metal till engine, no impact beam, its all plastic till engine block,so...how safe it is?

Well the i10 is really positioned parallel with the Santro, against the Alto in my view - so its really a basic city car with low safety features. And when did Hyundai make strong safe cars? This is really not their forte.

Manoj, frontal impact protection is designed to protect the occupants of the car, not the engine. The crumple zones could be behind the engine. As long as the tests show that the crash test dummy in the front seat does not sustain forces in excess of certain predefined limits, the car will pass the frontal collision protection test.

What are the safety standards we follow in India?

Hi, I find it hard to believe that anyone would release a car without front impact beam. It just might be tucked into the front facia. When you hit a tree the forces are quite high and concentrated in a small area. As such most cars will experience significant damage. As far as crush space comment: typically you want crush to initiate before the engine gets in contact. That means initial crush zone is between the bumper and engine and so more space between engine and front bumper beam is good.
