Pros : SPACE, STYLE, FEATURES SUCH AS CENTRAL LOCKING ETC.
Cons : THE FRONT HAS NO SPACE FOR KNICK KNACKS. SMALL BOOT, FUEL ECONOMY IN INITIAL STAGES LOW.

THIS IS A GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY CAR - SPECIALLY WITH THE DISCOUNTS BEING OFFERED. THE CLOUR VARIANTS OFFERED NOW ARE ALSO NICE SUCH AS REAL EARTH. ITS SPACIOUS, COMPARES WELL WITH ITS PEERS, BUT THE ONLY FEAR IS THAT HYUNDAI MAY WITHDRAW THE CAR ANY TIME. FUEL ECONOMY IS TO BE EXMAINED, IN INITIAL STAGES IT DOES SEEM LOW, BUT OVERALL THE CAR IS WELL MADE, HAS A GOOD RIDE QUALITY AND GIVES A FEELING OF SPACE AND COMFORT. HYUNDAI COULD HAVE OFFERED ANTI THEFT OR ATLEAST A TEFLON COAT AS AN ADD ON FROM THE DEALER OR A MP 3 PLAYER AS OFFERED BY ANOTHER CAR COMPANY. MY FAMILY IS CERTAINLY HAPPY TO OWN THIS CAR AND SO AM I AT THE COST OF ACQUISITION.

    I really liked your review. Just want to confirm on Central locking feature of Accent GLE is it available as want to confirm as I'm seriously looking forward to buy Accent for my family use.

    MISHRA JI, got it installed. Accent GLE requires it,its reasonably priced - i think i paid Rs 2600/- or so. I again say, a good car. however its not a latest model, as some relatives told me!

    Hey Dinesh,I enquired with my dealer in Del. he also advised me same. I have booked Accent yest. I'm paying 5900 for Cobra security system that gives all the security to this magnificent family car. I know by opting for Accent I'm calling in attention of some of my near and dear one's as this vehicle is bit dated but on contrary one thing that everyone admire's is that its a seasoned car for Indian cond's. with no doubts on its abilities n I agree the overall feel of the Accent is great. thanks

    Hi Dinesh,

    Pawan here from Bangalore....read your review, really helpful. Infact I too booked an accent {black color} though I did not get any discount {apart from the free floor mat and sun film} I feel the price reduced from 6.13 lacs to 5.73 lacs.....Pls let me know if the teflon coating is very important and also the central locking system. What is the milage you get?

    Mr. Jha, the teflon coating helps to avoid minor scratches; but it lasts only 8-9 months. mileage - max - 16-17 kms per litre on highways.

    One correction : The on road price is around
    Rs 5.40 L for the GLE model (Only available variant) in Calcutta.

    Dinesh,

    I bought an ascent 1 month back, what i found is the initial pick up when starting the vehicle say in the first or second gear gives a jurk, i feel it does not have that initial pick or the guage, but except that the performace is very good

    Mr Prakash, i atleast have not faced this issue. My car drives fine. You can show it to the service station in case there is a jerk; after the first service Dinesh.

    Hi all, I am really confused about the mileage of the car. This website tells that accent would give an avg of 8.5 in city condition. Is that really true..? I was accepting at least upto 12 as per what the showroom guys told me. Can someone tell me about this....?

    MILEAGE SIR IS RELATIVE, IN CROWDED CONDITIONS LIKE MUMBAI WITH AC ON YOUR MILEAGE WILL DROP. NOW IN A CITY LIKE CHANDIGARH IT WILL BE HIGHER. SECONDLY, HOW YOU DRIVE IS ALSO HAVING IMPLICATIONS FOR MILEAGE - BRAKING AND SUDDEN STARTS, SPURTS IN DRIVING ETC ALL MATER, THE SHOWROOM MILEAGE IS IDEAL. EVEN FOR FORD FIESTA, THE MILEAGE ADVERSTISED IS IDEAL CONDITIONS.

    THEY ARE TO DIFFERENET SEGMENTS - ONE A HATCHBACK AND ONE A SEDAN. AS PER THE BUSINESS STANDARD EXPERT RECENTLY, THE ACCENT IS THE BEST VALUE FOR MONEY ENTRY SEDAN THOUGH 10 YEARS OLD. ANY DEALER WILL INSTALL THE CENTRAL LOCKING AT A NOMINA COST. THE PREFERENCE HAS TO BE YOURS.

    Thanks for your suggestion. Are there any plans of Accent being dropped by Hyundai? What would be the mileage? Are there any features not available in Accent when compared with Getz Prime being new release?

    AS OF NOW THE HYUNDAI ACCENT IS BEING INTRODUCED WITH A LPG AND CNG KIT IN JUNE / JULY 2008 AS PER THEIR PRESS REPORTS, SO ONE CAN PRESUME IT IS AROUND FOR SOME MORE TIME. SECONDLY, THE ADVERTISEMENTS ON IPL SUGGEST ALSO IT IS STILL BEING SOLD AGGRESSIVELY BY THE COMPANY - BUT THESE I DEDUCE!. SECONDLY, THE GETZ HAS A SMALLER ENGINE BUT LET ME ASSURE YOU THIS AMONGST THE HATCHBACKS IS THE BEST CAR. REGARDS.

    I have been doing research on Accent, Logan and ford ikon, and swift. but i liked Accent the best interms of confort, drive, AC interiors. My worries are that this model might get phased out soon and the mileage as per the official claims is too low. What could be the mileage for a desent drive, given the conditions mentioned by you are properly taken care of??Also, the CNG & LPG are comming soon? Are they worth waiting for ?How is the resale value of GLE?

    Fuel wise i have already written my experience,now the car is definitely 9-10 years old as a model. Secondly, my friends who own cars from other companies state that fuel consumption wise they are now where near the publicised data. the Accent and other models are quite within one band. A newer model means more outflow of cash - its essentially one's choice but compare all features to decide if you get something really extra for the price. Take the extended warranty from Hyundai to avoid costs.

    As far as discounts go, try your luck, as the dealers tend to go for individual based approaches.
    my dealer refused any discount.

    Can anybody on board tell me about Accent GLE being phased out. What will happen about it's servicing, parts and resale value. I liked the car very much but the said issues and the mileage are major concerned for the decision.

    There is no car between the Getz and the Verna with Hyundai except the Accent GLE, they are advertising it (see the IPL Ads)and have brought out a CNG version; so its not being phased out now. Milage is as good or as bad as its competitors on the whole, enjoy the car, dinesh

    GLE in Delhi, 9-10 kms a litre max, CNG would be ideal in Delhi and the Accent is factory fitted, I do not know if the Swift Dezire is factory fitted with a CNG kit, a factory fitted kit is much better as is the Accent. The Swift Dezire would be cramped by way of sitting space as compared to the Accent but is later day model. The choice is as simple as this only. Dinesh.

    i amr eally planning to buy accent cng version but dealer told me to go for maruti dezire petrol and get cng kit fitted as he was giving waranty along with it for one year which can be extended(this was rana motors in delhi).so shall i go for acent or dezire cn as my ruunign is almost 8okms evrday

    This requires you to know the dealers, if he is trustworthy, go ahead. Both the companies offer good service but the hyundai accent comes with a factory fitted and time tested engine, which does not apply to the swift dezire, so think over this aspect, Dinesh.

    Hello every-one.
    i read everone's comments and querries. I am planning to buy an Accent GLE CNG from Faridabad.
    I am college going student and currently driving a swift VXI cng and getting an average of Re.1/km which i think is very economical. I drive in a good manner. But I am confused about the maintainence of Accent with CNG? And also about the weight of the CNG cylinder i should get installed. Wether 14kg? or more..as my daily driving is around 80-100 kms/day. So please help me out.

    About the much talked about mileage of Accent GLE. My Accent is 3 months old have done more than 5k km till now. I have been experimenting it with the mileage since the beginning. I travel daily from faridabad to Delhi and have a daily commute of about 60 kms. I have started with a mileage of 12+ but my last filling has given me 16.3. WHich is unbelievable. The mileage has gradually increased with changes in the pattern of driving and AC use..It may go up after first service and in winters.
