I own a 1999 lancer glxd, I found it very reliable and steady on long drive. If the co. can make the price of spares reasonable like Maruti I think the vehicle will be sold in a better way
I luv my Slxi but original spares are very expensive and you wud have to take the car to the showroom to get the tiniest of spares, otherwise they just wont sell it to you!!
DR Rammohan ji....i think you are more used to driving petrol cars and probably got talked into buying a Lancer diesel. Lancer surely pulls surprisingly quickly despite the fact that it is equipped with only a regular diesel engine...its not even a turbo charged engine. in my opinion, you should sell it off and buy a pertol car...try the Mitsubishi Cedia...or better still, since you are a doctor and can afford the high end cars, go for the Toyota Corolla. Its an A-Class car.
I own a GLXD for the past 9 years, and yet to come across a diesel car that is as good (for a businessman like me)! I do an average of 2500km - 3000km month on month, and the comfort is unmatched. Diesel cars are just not for city/ sport. They are sluggish at lower speeds, but its a totally different story on the highways. Fuel economy is the best at 22kmpl on the highways. Guess you need to go in for a peppy petrol vehicle. The department they have screwed-up big time is the spares.
I like mitsubishi lancer. Every car has prons & cons. Overall i can say that its a good deal to buy a Lancer.
i like the lancer.i hav a lancer GLXI since 1999.its been 10 yrs and i am very happy with it it gives me an average og 9 kms in city with ac and 14 in highway with ac.
