I was obsessed by my Car for past 3 years...one fine day the pick up started dieing thn workshop told me Clutch Assembly to be replaced. The damage was 21K. Another 13K kilometers, same thing repeated & this time they say Flywheel gone. The new Flywheel Assembly comes with new Clutch Assembly, so the old clutch assembly is packed for me ( useless) and the new damage is another 52K.....

Well I think this is too much. The car is totally single handled driven and had been very well maintained. & this time even the Service notification also did not come on the front... Dont know whats wrong with the Machine...

Did I made a wrong choice for going for Skoda Octavia?????? Anyone there who can comment on this from Skoda?????

Thanx

I totally agreee with you, Otherwise a robust ,fine car but when it malfunction repair cost is very high. Skoda authority should check with dealer network & should be familiaer with customers feedback.
Poor choice of dealers ruin the image of the fantastic car

My clutch plates and the flywheel both got damaged recently the car is less than 2 years old and it is costing me 55000, does the dealer give any warranty for the clutch plates and the flywheel.

It does appear that the Skoda has a severe problem with it's clutch. I know of atleast 12 people who drive their car well, but their clutch had to be replaced at under 10,000 kilometres. Skoda has the same answer for everyone, you dont drive the car properly so the clutch is worn out.
The fact is that Skoa Clutch assembly is ill designed for Indian use, especially in city traffic. I know someone whose clutch wore out in 25 kilometres driving in traffic on a single day!!

I had purchased skoda octavia, ambiente; before 1 year & 6 months. When I purchased it; it was 45000 kms. & present the reading is 88000 kms. And between these 40000 kms; just recently before 2 months i.e.at 80000 kms. I changed my Clutch Plate which costed me at 30 k. And had to change the battery. Now I have to change brakes. So, overall Skoda is a good car , it's power packed & most importantly Fuel efficient. I am sure that now your car trouble you anymore; believe me.

Had another interesting experience with my Skoda. There was a problem with AC. It had stopped cooling. Went to dealer. He gave a estimate of 22K. Went to AC specialist in Lajpat Nagar who takes care of all kinds of cars AC. He charged me 4.5K and replaced the orginal Audi Coil. The car is running with fantastic AC since last one year now.....
