    Dear Abhinav,
Just 5 months back I bought my dream vehicle
"Safari Petrol VXi 4x4 Quartz Black" (full option)for my personal use and my vehicle running very well and its performance is superb by all means. My monthly usage is also around 500-600kms, and I wish to keep my vehicle through-out my life. For your use of 500kms a month, and also for comfortable, safe & maintenance free vehicle, I suggest you to think of Petrol Safari instead of Dicor.

    Dear Abhinav,
Tata stopped production of Safari Petrol VXi from last May. However, with my specific request for that model on Tatamotors, they ageed & produced 1 Safari Petrol VXi 4x4 for me as a special case in June. Now this model is no more available. Now Safari Petrol EXi 4x4 & 4x2 only available and I suggest Petrol Exi vehicles are also excellent. The petrol engine is Tata's own product, powerful, smooth & maintenance free. I get average on H/ways 12-13kms & cities 9-11kms with AC on.

The 2.2 VTT Safari Diesel is good. The engine is also refined and is exported since jan this year. I cannot say for sureity but this car is already ~ 1.5 months in the market and the initial reactions say that it is good.
The dealers around here say that Tata "may" phase out the petrol version since the sale is very less.
The petrol version Exi is cheaper than the Ex version of diesel and you get alloy wheels and ABS thrown in.

    Hi,
I am a proud owner of Dicor VTT, I took delivery of this 'Gentle Giant' or the tamed Tusker, on November 5th and so far covered abouve 3200 KMs.I am getting an average of above 15 kms on high ways and about 13 in city,AC on.

There are certain issues with the gearbox especially when you change the gear to 1st,not often, but sporadically which has already been noted to the Service guys.Over all I like the drivability, smoothness of the engine.
Tata needs to use quality interiors further.

the vehicle 2.2 L VTT is a big improvement on the
3Litre DICOR. Did a test drive last week and observed the following:
PROS: Lots of space, good looks though the car is now 15 years on the market and only minor cosmetic changes have been made with each (new)edition. Most comfortable in its class. Great for tall drivers.
CONS:Cheap plastics/dashboard,poor finish, the vehicle is underpowered. It needs atleast 165 BHP engine (for its weight) and for this it requires a 2.6 or 2.8 litre engine.
