Over all its same old wine in new bottle , its same santro with ABS and sunroof nothing more, the name i 10 dosent suit for the new model since its a compromise to santro, distinctivly only new features added not a new model .Hyundai to find new design of its own to create impact in Indian market rather than adding new features and creating a Buzz..

I would like to differ on what is said about the same design. What radical change can you expect in a small car design ? Look at wagon R, Estilo , Spark ...they are all more or less similar. Infact i10 provides a lot of features from the upper segment like plush interiors, rear defogger & wiper, sun-roof ( i personally may not fancy that ). The looks are also fresh and neat ...infact more appealing than Santro.
    So overall a decent car.

Can anyone comment about the mileage, drive and comfort as compare other same segment cars.

Mohit, I went for a test drive last week. As far as the drive and comfort are concerned, it is better than others in the same segment. Milage - I am waiting for the delivery of my car; the dealer says 14-15 in city.

Yes the reviews are conflicting & confusing, but when compared to stuff available in the segment it surely is better & provides good alternatives to Swift/U-Va/Getz.Maybe Hyundai should have limited i10 to single or two versions only instead of four/five.Anyway it adds to options within Hyundai- Santro-i10-Getz-Accent-Verna.

I would like some reviewer to comment on boot space, turning radius and mileage, because the features described on the carwale page are silent on these points.
Also, how does the car compare with Swift Diesel ?

I would like to go for a car between Wagon R Duo and i10 for our sparing use as i am a salaried person. I would like to know the delivery time for same. I am in an area away from major city and nearest car showrooms are 200kms.Can you guide me by comparing by performance and price/ value for money.

The best car in this series. Far better than Alto LXi, Wagon R, and Indica. Eagerly waiting to know more from the i10 owners about the perfomance of the car. Me too like to know the delivery time for same.

I think Hyundai is planning for a diesel 1.1L for this car sometime in Jan/Feb 2008.

It would be rather harsh to say that the i10 is the same old wine in a new bottle. I understand that this is a brand new engine with new technology and great Europian styling specially meant for the very competitive Europian market. Of course, the exterior I10 is a mixture of KIA Piccanto and the Atos (Santro) but the interior seems to be quite new integrating the gear with the dash board and quite a few innovations. In case it gives 60 mpg on the highways as reported, it would be GREAT.

Autocar reports fuel consumption in city 12 Kms, High way as 16.43 Kms, Avg 14.15 Kms. Whereas Overdrive reports astronomy figures of City as 15.43 Kms, Highway 18.88 Kms. Higher end car weighs 92 Kg more & its performance definitely be blunted by extra weight as that of Santro.
Also bouncy ride at lower speeds than that of higher speeds. Cool front end, Sad rear. Much desired top end is expensive. Rear seat do not fold flat. Lower end torque is 99 NM @ 2800 rpm gives good comfor

I dont agree at all that it is old wine in new bottle. i fel that the writer has some bad experience with the company due to which he is writing such comments. Infact what more one would expect from a compact car. i 10 has got mature looks which the other cars like zen estilo , wagon-r dont have.just consider the example of Zen estilo. looking at this car one feels that suzuki has some buisness of toy manufacturing in japan. this is the worst car frm suzuki.Clearly i10 is the best car at presen

The front seat tilt mechanism for i10is given to the bottom left of the driver. Its also very prominent and smooth. If by accident while driving at 40 - 60 Kph, a child sitting in the back pushes the seat-tilt knob down (very easy to push), the driver already being pressed to the seat suddenly falls back. The consequences could be disastrous. This is the problem with i10, if you have a kid 3yrs - 5yrs of age and sitting in the back. The company is not willing to talk about rectifying this prblm

i have test ride i10 twice, at my first drive it was very bouncy.. seems weight is very less and car jumps a lot on speed breakers. for some reason my second ride was much better. The interiors are best in the segment. engine and transmition at there best. good leg room. For milage the delear said its around 16 kmpl in city. i m waiting for delivery and check the actual milage.

I am a prospective buyer looking at i10/Palio cars. i10 has great interiors - steering and gearshift integrated with dash. Front exterior is good. Very responsive. Its bouncy due to lesser weight and being a little taller than Palio. Palio stile 1.1 - smooth ride but isnt very responsive. Stile 1.6 is responsive but drinks a lot of fuel

Can anyone compare Swift with i10 and tell me which is better.

  23. on 07 Jan, 2008 at 03:38 PM Manoj Sharma (New Delhi)

I agree to watever others have posted, nice interiors, good design, everything. I would like to draw attention to the biggest and most dangerous flaw in the car. What safety features the hyundai is bragging about. My i10 met with an accident at speed of about not more than 25km/h, hit a tree. Imagine....the engine block is broken. Reason basic manufacturing defect. Now next time u see an i10, open the bonnet and u will be surprised to note that there is not even a single piece of metal till eng

can anyone compare swift with i10 & tell me which is better.

  26. on 25 Feb, 2008 at 12:19 AM Ajeyasingh

Go for swift if u can afford these mileage figures:
    with ac:
    city- 11kmpl
    highway- 14
    without ac:
    city- 13
    highway- 16
    (max u can get)
but everything else is best! No doubt.

Its a nice car but mileage is not so good as it was posted by some webside.

i10 or Santro which one is better

  29. on 23 Apr, 2008 at 02:03 PM Arshadtech

I see quite a few people have compared I10 with Getz Prime...well to start with Getz Prime 1.3 L can never be compared with 1.1L Cars.
Getz 1.3L is alltogether a different experince than that of any of thease Cars

i would like to buy i10 with in couple of weeks. i want to know the mileage of the vehicle.

  31. on 13 Aug, 2008 at 01:15 PM Santhosh

in high traffic time insice city with ac you get 12 ...its very good considering the ride comfort and power..it has no connection with santro exept it is also a hatch back ...way ahead santro..

It is inherent amongst us to critical of anything new in the market. If you think the i10 is expensive, then don't even consider buying it.Those who have criticized the price factor of i10, I have only one suggestion - stick to Maruti 800's, Alto or a Reva; your lifestyle and your social strata can't permit you to go beyond these. Why, in heaven's name, are you hell bent on dampening the spirits of others considering the i10? STOP BEING CRITICAL!And, please, most of you, watch your grammar!

  33. on 07 Sep, 2008 at 01:28 PM Priyanko Ghosh (New Delhi)

I am not finished yet!If you think you are being fleeced by someone, stay away from them.Blabbering about it only proves your stupidity! You've been using phrases like"Old Wine In A New Bottle".Wonder, how many of you know the actual meaning of it?I am not advocating the i10 but, please,it would be nice for a change to appreciate also.If you have reservations about a new car, please keep it to yourself as your expert opinion is not good enough.

  34. on 07 Sep, 2008 at 01:34 PM Priyanko Ghosh (New Delhi)

My final comment! How many of you know the dynamics and the engineering involved in a car design and its performance? How is mileage assessed? What do you mean by piston displacement? What are valves per cylinder? What is SOHC & DOHC and which is better? How does the fuel combustion process occur in petrol or diesel engine? How is even power transferred from the engine to the tyres? What is ABC and how is it better than conventional braking system? So,please, gentlemen, watch what you say!! OR SHUT UP

  35. on 07 Sep, 2008 at 01:42 PM Priyanko Ghosh (New Delhi)

PS-If anyone wants to report an abuse against me, please feel free to do so.I don't care!It is useless to interact with "Gentlemen" like you.
Goodbye and thank you very much for tolerating me. The 1st sentence of my very 1st remark has a grammatical error, for which I apologize profusely as I simply forgot to type the word "be" before "critical". A good platform as carwale.com & their excellent efforts are going for a waste, thanks to all the nincompoops meddling around here!!
