Hi all,
I currently use auto to travel to & fro office in Mumbai. But nowadys feel bit scared due to rash way they drive. Thinking of buying a four wheeler and keep a driver. My monthly running would be 600 KM mostly on highway. Want a low budget economical car to be driven by a driver.
Mostly to be used for office travel.
Budget 2.5 Lacs(preferable) to 3 lacs max with all basic accessories.
What are options available to me (new M800, used alto, used xeta or say indica)
Planning to keep car for 5 years or so.
Please suggest what is most economical option for me(You ca suggest something else other than above if you think its better).

If you are looking for a driver driven car and occasionally you on the wheels, then Xeta is the best bet - It gives you a lot of space and comfort in the back seat and is the best bet.

Thanks for quick reply.
What milage should I expect (though travel would be on highway, in Mumbai its still lot of traffic). Should I stick to Petrol or Lpg/cng is better?

since you are intending to keep the car for 5 years i would strongly suggest to go in for a new car as used ones can show up work anytime in case if not inspected properly when buying.i think you should be able to squeeze in the alto in 3 lacs with the basic accessories.

New alto is coming at 3.3L (with basic accessories )on road mumbai. Thats 80K more than my budget. I don't think I will get it for 3L.
Also spark PS with zero accessories is quoted at 3.29L (after all discounts) on road. Would love if any of these cars are at 3L.
Q1 - Also are these two cars safe to use it on highway? I thoughht only xeta in my budget would be safe(purely my perception...no technical knowledge as such)

Q2 - Any guess that we can get more discount during Diwali or so as am ready to wait for some time.

Deepam,
I am also interested. How much max discount can you get on outright purchase? Say on PS and LS models - what could be final on road price?

I went to Ashtavinay Auto - Goregaon for test ride. They offered 3.37Lac on road (mumbai reg) for PS model for only three colours(red, black and white) though I prefer silver as it is easy to maintain. Did not offer any accessories. Salesman was not well informed and was going and discussing with his senior for all small queries. Did not bargain much.

Then I contacted Car Galaxy on phone. They too told me same price. But offered 8K discount. So me too getting similar quote (3.29) as Vipin. Though I am sure across the table they will give some more, but if you think its possible to get something really signficant (say 3 Lac ), please tell me your email id and I will send you my conact number. Do not wish to publish same on forum (no offence ment).
