Need some help here.........

Hi all,

 

I need to buy a new car, but I will be using it for

a very short duration (1 to 1.5 years max), since

I would leave abroad permanently.

 

I just need a basic car to go from one place to

another. A friend of mine recommends an Maruti 800

but he also said it would go out of production soon.

 

 

Does any one have any suggestions ??

well since you will be using it just for a year or so , i would suggest you to go for a Good used car! say the Santro Xing , Xp or XG 06 model for 2 .80 - 3 lakhs! or the wagonR LXi or VXi at the same range , if not then the 04 or 05 corsa for 2 lakhs! or perhaps the Alto LXi 06 model for around 2.4 lakhs!

if u want a new car than m800 & alto both will be good & when u sell it will fetch u a good resale value, so not to worry about the resale for these 2 cars & if u would like to go with a second hand than santro or wagon-r both will be fine.

Sri is right, for this short duration ... a used car is better option. Check out Santro or Wagon-r ..over 2 yrs old model (2006 model).

for a span of 1-1.5 years a less used car will be a better option since you would not be giving the price of a new car at the same time you will be getting a car which would be "as good as new". when you sell it again you can get a decent resale also on it. a friend of mine brought a 1 year old santro xing XO for 3 lacs, used it for 6-8 months and sold it again for 3 lacs. since you are intending to use it for 1-1.5 years you may not get what you invest but something reasonable
