I have a SX4, 6mths old. For last 1 week a rat is creating havoc. Started with eating the windshield washer pipe, few electric wires. Got them fixed at Authorised showroom. Tried to kill by putting some Rat poison, which also was eaten today. I am not sure whether the rat is dead. Can someone suggest me how to turn away the RAT from my car.

I too had faced a similar problem.  Luckily, before it could damage the car wirings & all that, I was able to get rid of him with the help of a trap-box containing Chappati loaded with Ghee (to add attraction).

By the way, since then I have been using / placing the trap-box in the car, once a month as a safety measure.

SX4 has two gaps just beneath its hood which lead to cabin.I advise you to put pieces of Mortein Ratkill cake which is easy to handle at those vents and one inside the cabin just besides drivers seat on the floor (not to forget to remove it when we are operating and to avoid hazard of kids mouthing it). Also look for any open drainage inlets near your car.Either cover them or drop pieces of cake into that. This techique worked for me well. Can i suggest you to go through excellent article on rodenticides at Wikipedia?

Well, what a coincidence..... after sharing my experience herein above, I thought it was time I placed the trap-box once again in the car, as as safey measure.

Therefore, last night, I did that once again. This morning when I checked I was shocked to see a small rat trapped inside.

I wonder wherefrom do they get inside.  Anyway, I'm going to place the trap-box every night for a few days atleast & wish that others, if any, also get trapped.

There is a instrument called pest repeller. I have seen many peoples have fixied this in their parking area. My Japanees friend explained it is for rat. almost 90% house parking area they were using. why dont we also try the same?
