And as far as Logan is concern, I asked so many, (Its My habbit... if any car is parked and the user is there I use to ask the performance, just to get genuine feedback), and everyone told me that the car is very good.

Infact interiors are not as good as d'zire but in its price Logan is also very good.

Thanks everybody for all your suggestions & Thoughts.

I have contacted all the Dealers in Kolkata and all but one is quoting a waiting period of atleast 3 Months for a Dzire VDi and that non color specific. If i go for a specific color then it might go upto 4 Months. The only dealer who is saying 1.5 - 2 Months has a reputation of breaking promises, so i don;t want to take a chance.

I have driven both Swift & Swift Dzire atleast 4 times in the last week and both are equally appealing. i touched a top speed of 135kmph on a Swift today and i think i'll go for a swift. Since, if i wait for 3 months then i'll not get the kind of price that i'm getting for my old car in exchange and also will have to shell out extra 10K on renewing the car insurance etc.

So i have made up my mind for a Swift VDI, now the only question is either with or without ABS and which color. I liked the new Sunlight Copper.

Will appreciate some help in suggesting me the same :o)

In my opinion you should wait for 3 months for Swift Dzire as you will be getting best if you wait....

or you can even go with Swift...

Edit: Great you booked it? Superb swift is also a good choice i would like to see your car Pix and some review when you post please notify me by replying in this thread..

Thanks

Resale of Swift will be better as it has been around for some time as a premium petrol hatchback without any strong competition, later with the Fiat diesel engine it killed indica in the personal car space.

Palio petrol 1.1 is grossly underpowered and Palio Sport 1.6 has high power but poor mileage figures that too with pathetic Fiat service from TVS before there was no chance of a good resale value for sure.

Everything has changed now with the Palio back in competition with vengeance and  a new lease of power with the revolutionary 1.3 Multijet Diesel engine with high power and mileage, all of this backed by the Tata Service network which empowers to indicab and Sumo’s on Indian roads.

Swift is beaten badly on space by Palio especially rear seat and boot space, the build quality of a palio is any day superior as you feel very safe inside J

Palio lacks the great modern interiors as compared to Swift however for anyone who is a seasoned driver a good engine, great handling and high mileage makes more sense than awesome interiors to show your friends, family and neighbours J.

Palio Multijet is the best Hatchback on Indian roads with the awesome power, rock solid road grip and awesome mileage that too at petrol small car prices J

Tata Motor dealers and service centers have assured <

according to me , the perfomrmnce of both Palio MJD and Swift diesel are more or less the same , the palio is priced a bit cheaper than the swift and resale value and servicing will be an Issue for the Fiat , the servicing will be pathetic coz it iwll tata dealers who will be servicing the Palio MJD , and i dont expect tata dealers servicining upto the mark! moreover the Resale value of palio Mjd  will remain cheaper than the swift,  and swift D is alos in very gr8 demand , some people prefer the palio bcoz of space and pricing and interior and the engine is same of swift !

Cheers,
Sri

Performance of both Palio n swift diesel r more or less d same. Some changes in ECM i guess, earlier swift had problem with ECM, but they fixed d problem and as far as performance is concern swift is very good. Personally, I dont like the shape of the Swift, looks only..... especially from behind. but its from Maruti & if u like the shape den prefer Swift over Palio.
