TDi engine i think  ur mentioning about TATAs TDi

TDI means TURBO engine and DIcor is direct injection comman rail ( CRDI)

Soo DICOR is better as it is direct injection with turbo and turbo is only turbo with indirect injection

Well the DICOR engine is not present in Indica. and tata has plans for DICOR indica and that may be launched maybe around 2008 or 2009. all new shape indica is really good.i have seen its pics in auotcar magazine last month.

at the same time TATA is also considering a car which is bigger than indica and smaller than indigo.  so its a mini indigo . indica with small boot. to get the excise duty benifit tata has been working hard on this and the car is less than 4000 mm .

this car too will be launched next year

Yes, Tata not only have Indica DiCOR but also Indigo CS DiCOR, Indigo DiCOR, Safari DiCOR.  Check/click this LINK to see a version each of these (other versions are also available).

The tubo charged engine is totally a different technology than CRDi.
The turbo charger is used to compress the air entering the combustion chamber so that more amount of air can enter into the cylinder and more air means more oxygen that means better combustion. These days the turbocharger is accompanied by the air cooler, it cools the air to reduce the density of air but does not affects the compression of air.

The 6 cylinder 6.0 L engine is equivalant to 4 cyl 4.0 L turbocharged engine.

Now, the Common rail diesel injection system is an intelligent system that economizes the amount of diesel entering the combustion chamber and it direclt releases the fuel in chamber through a nozzle to reduce the chances of delay and for better efficiency.
