premium fuel or normal fuel

I am driving Skoda Rider petrol, Last time I refilled a fuel called speed 97 "Future Fuel" at IBP which was Rs. 55 per liter in Delhi. This fuel didn't help me in increasing pickup nor milage. I do not recmond this fuel for any petrol vehicle. Please avoid spending much on this.

ok..i thot 97 Fuel was from Bharat Petroleum..newyas BP,or IBP....wat a fool they make of ppl..... selling Fuel at Rs 55 per litre!!! n on that too ofcourse they'll be adultrations..!... Lets stick to the Normal Petrols and Diesels....

I share karan's views about this issue. I think its just a gimmick of fetching acouple of more bucks for the same thing.
     I had an indica diesel for almost 2-1/2 yrs.religiously filled extra mile for about 27 months. Was getting an average of 13-14 kmpl in city. Was happy with fuel economy.
   Then one day on the way to lonavala , i filled HP unleaded disel as the pump did not have turbo. I managed 189.7 km in 25.75 lit. Thats a whopping 25.75 km/lit of fuel which was a rupee cheaper. Thinking that it was some ideal case scenerio and express way run that i got that high FE.
   dURING the next 3 months , i used normal unleaeded disele only and consistently getting about14-15.39 kmpl in the city. Same driver same roads same traffic conditions.
   After some research i found out that most vehicles in india except the supercharged / turbocharged vehicles are designed for use of available fuel and would work best with them.
    Some vehicles like Innova etc have ven reporeted higher exhaust smoke with the premium diesel etc.
    I think its necessary for somebody to lay down the rules here and of specifying which new cars have to use the fuel with additives and which do not.

well.... Spaceinteractive.. u're case is certainly not one of d odd cases....ALOT of ppl say the same. so u're right...one should stick to d own fuel. + its better to consult the car maker n know if d premium fuel is "recommended" or not. well..ofcourse dey'll say its ok... bt 1 shud ask dem,wud r common fuel do any harm 2 d car? if d answer is no,den use d regular fuel. Car companies like Porsche,Ferrari etc wud say say-"YOUR CAR NEEDS HIGH OCTANE PETROL"....... now that is when u ACTUALLY NEED Premium fuel.

p.s--- if anyone else experiences the same...pls to put up ur views in this post.....

Is the normal unleaded petrol 91 octane, or is it the the premium fuels which have it b'cos GM recommends a 91 octane petrol for its cars.

Any information on this.

I heard reliance petrol and diesel are of good quality. Most of taxi drivers use it and say they gave better fuel economy.  Are they premium fuels?  Anyway I think there s no chanc for adultration in reliance fuels. So we should stick to them......

I would support Fahad, as that is the feedback from people using reliance fuel in and around jamshedpur also.
The only issue here is that the fuel is available outside the city limits.
