Alto Lx Underbody coating

Hi

I am planning to buy an Alto Lx. My dealer is tlling me that underbody coating should be done and it will cost me 3000 Rs. But one of my friend told me that in all new alto cars it has been already done from the factory itself. Wht will i do?

No, the under-body coating is not done by the manufacturer and one has to get this done. But during the time of purchase, dealers offer to get this done free of cost as a value added service. You could push your dealer for the same.

In my opinion, underbody coating is not really useful since underbody damage is caused by body scraping the road humps and the coating at the point of contact anyway scrapes away.
