Tata Safari is too big even for highway.  I would not call it a car - it's more like a mini truck/bus. It gives a mileage of 8/10 in city & 11/12 on highway.  Driving too is not a pleasure, as such.  It is meant for a particular type of people/usage only.  Still, there are a few people who go for it but, to my observation, seldom persist with it.  Re-sale value too is not as good.
