Scope of Cover

Section 1 :
Undertakes to reimburse the expenses incurred for :
Repair / replacement of the parts of the vehicle
Payment for the market value of the vehicle in case of a total loss, provided that the originating cause of such damage is an accident, theft, earthquake, flood, riot, strike and malicious acts. -
Section 2 :
Liability to third party including the liability under Motor Vehicles Act which is compulsory. It covers the legal liability of insured towards third party personal injury and property damage arising out of an accident involving the insured vehicle.

Q What Does Bajaj Allianz Motor Policy Cover ?
A The Policy offers the following scope of Cover :
Covers all accidents including earthquake,
flood, riot, strike and malicious acts.

Q What Does The Policy Not Cover ?
A
- Any accidents outside the geographical area
- Consequential loss, normal wear and tear
- Driving without a valid license for that class of vehicle. Driving under the influence of liquor / drugs
- Vehicle not being used as per Limitations to use.
Q When do I need to report to the police?
A In case of "Third Party Property Damage", "Bodily Injury To Self or Third
Party" or "Theft" then the incident should be reported to the nearest police station, under whose
jurisdiction the incident has occurred
Q Where can I get the claim form?
A At all our approved repair shops, however if client wishes to repair the vehicle
at garage of his choice , we can fax/email the form to him or surveyor will give it to him.
Q Where should I take the vehicle?
A Our nearest approved repair shop from where your vehicle is located.
Q I want to have the vehicle repaired at my chosen repair shop?
A Please let us know where (take address, telephone no.) vehicle can be inspected, our
surveyor will come & see the vehicle. Then it can be taken for repairs.
Q What documents should be presented at the time of survey?
A Please ensure that the Original registration book, Original Policy Document and the Original
driver's license are available for verification at the time of survey.Detailed lists given in the claim form.
Q What is the time frame within which I could get back my vehicle after repairs?
A It depends on the extent of damage, please check with workshop about the likely time for repairs.
Q What is the time frame for settlement of claim?
A If the vehicle is taken to our approved garage or repair shop you have to pay him the amount due
for depreciation (not covered under policy) & non-accident related work. You do not have to worry about other payment
at all as we will pay directly to approved garage.
Q What if I have a learner's license?
A No problem. So long as the Act provisions are complied with i.e. the driver with LL should
only drive when he has with him a permanent license holder.
Q Do I have to deposit salvage parts? If so where?
A If the repair is being done at our approved garage, then the disposal of the salvage is our
responsibility.
If you go to any other garage, then the responsibility of disposal of the salvage is with you as we will deduct
the value of salvage from the claim.
Q Can the amount be paid directly to the repairer?
A Yes - In case of Approved Garage
No - In case of any other Garage.
Q What documents do I have to give after completion of repairs?
A In all cases you would have to sign the discharge forms and give in writing that you are
satisfied with the repairs before we release payment along with the bill for repairer.
Q What is the amount that I would have to bear?
A You will have to bear the following
- Depreciation as per the policy
- Reasonable value of salvage (if not repaired at our outlet)
- Excess under the policy, if you have opted for it.
Q What if the policy is taken from some other place?
A So long as you hold an Bajaj Allianz Policy, you can report the loss at the nearest office,
and obtain settlement.
Q What if I am using a relatives/friends vehicle at the time of an accident?
A Motor policies are vehicle specific. Therefore the policy covering the vehicle damaged will
answer to the claims. In other words you cannot use your policy to pay claims arising out of use of another vehicle
Q What is the amount payable in the event of a claim?
A The policy pays for the full amount of repairs subject to deduction for excess, depreciation and
salvage.
Q Will the claim affect my renewal?
A Yes, the policy carries a Bonus/ Mauls clause where by your premium gets loaded if a claim is made
under the policy. In general, we would recommend that if the claim amount is less than the No-claim bonus already being
enjoyed under the policy, it would be better not to claim under the policy.
Q What is the amount payable for towing the damaged vehicle?
A In the event of the vehicle being disabled by reason of loss or damage covered under the policy,
the company will bear the reasonable cost of removal to the nearest repairer but not exceeding in all Rs.1500/- in
case of a Motor Car and Rs.300/- in case of a Two Wheeler against procedure of actual bill in respect of any one accident.
Any amount in excess of this has to be borne by the insured.
Q What if the customer wants to lodge claims of any other product other than Motor ?
A Call center to provide the name and Contact No of the nearest Bajaj Allianz Branch. And ask the
customer to follow up at the Branch.
Q What is I.D.V ?
A I.D.V means Insured's Declared Value, That is the insured computes the value of the vehicle
at the time of Insurance and this forms the basis of the contract. A separate table is available to compute the IDV.
It takes into account the present invoice value of the vehicle and a suitable depreciation is deducted to arrive at the
IDV.
Q If a vehicle is sold should this policy be canceled ?
A Not necessary, the policy may be endorsed in the owner's name.
Q Is any discount given if the owner of the vehicle is a member of some Association ?
A (4 wheeler )
Yes, If the insured is a member of any of he following Automobile Association, a discount is given under the policy,

- Automobile Association of Eastern India
- The United Province Automobile Association
- The Western India Automobile Association
- The Automobile Association of Southern India
- The Automobile Association of Upper India
Q What are the benefits available for handicapped people ?
A A discount of 50% is available on the own damage premium provided such vehicles are modified
for use by them. The above discount is also available for institutions exclusively engaged in the service of the
handicapped.
Q What are the reasons for decline of proposal form ?
A Commercial vehicle, Sumo/Trax, Vehicle more than 5 yrs old, No. Of claims made during the year.
Q What is the procedure for cancellation of hypothecation?
A Client needs to submit NOC from the financer for cancellation of hypothecation.
Q What is the procedure of transfer of policy?
A Letter from the existing client, proof of sale, original policy, Rs.50/-, refund of NCB on
pro-rata basis.
Q What is the cover for paid driver in case of personal accident in motor policy?
A The cover for paid driver is according to Workmen’s Compensation Act.
Q What is the validity period of cover note?
A The cover note is valid up to 15 days.
Q Can I get a duplicate copy if the original policy document is lost?
A Yes we issue a duplicate copy duly stamped by charging Rs.50/-
