Hello, 1.4 MPI petrol was introduced when fabia was launched but had a technical hitch/performance issue and was called back. What do u suggest for the customers who had bought this version, as the market value of the car is totally unknown & customers are not able to sell them if they want to?

The best one yet ...no spare wheel, jack or tools just a poxy compressor and some super glue. That will do a great job in a blow out. So what next ? The rac tow you to a garage for a split tyre. Skoda thinks that saving on the wheel reduces weight, petrol and emissions...utter crap. Whats the RAC mans vehicle run on elastic bands. So you dont need a spare wheel. Why do they sell them then. Why have you got a wheel well in the car. How do you carry on when you get a blow out in the country where there is a bad signal for your mobile...do you walk to the nearest big hill. If the wheel is an accessorie why isnt it in the book yet is it because you have not had time to change the book before you clawback some of the £1000 of the government scrappage scheme. Why do you show the wheel being changed in the manual...and the biggest laugh of the lot is the new compressor illustrates you have to remove the wheel to repair it ...how you do that then without a jack. Can anybody tell me if the wheels/tyres are called runflats it does not say on the tyre

Keith welcome to CW.

The cars sold in India, by law should have a full size spare wheel. So there are no issues with blowouts here, sorry to hear that its not the case in UK!

@Binoy: there are some exceptions to the rule. Most premium manufacturers get by with a space-saver and not a full-size spare.

I am considering Fabia 1.2 petrol, clasic model. User rating and reviews are poor in Mouthshut.com particularly about service and some technical issues.

Can I get more user views on this forum? Also is it German car as described on Carwale review or Czeck?

@Sandip: It most certainly is a German car. We didn't have the time to check, but for the most part, VAG cars usually have some parts or the other labelled with 'VW' and four interlocking rings.

From the web you will most certainly find that the car is based on Volkwagen's PQ25 platform, which is also the base for cars like the VW Polo, VW Fox and Seat Ibiza.

Skoda Auto (Czech), the manufacturer, is a fully owned subsidiary of VW.

We drive the smallest German on our roads: Skoda Fabia

Dear Charles,

How long have you been using Fabia, and in which city? What is your rating for the product and the service?

Thanks

..Sandip

Sandip, I don't own any car, but have driven the Fabias over the course of the reviews. The product gets almost full marks from me, but based on personal experience with Skoda, I'm not so sure about the service.
