i had seen both Grande Punto and Indica Vista in Tata showroom, Delhi today. While there seems to be not much difference in width of the rear seat, while sitting inside Punto gives an extremely different and an elegant and grand feel.  looks are owesome, and gear shift is smooth (unlike vista) but couldn't test drive today.

Anybody in a position to compare Vista cabin space with that of Grande Punto's?

Vista has more width - and the total cabin space (I think).

Correct, Vista is more spacious inside, but the grand feel inside a great car is there in Grande Punto but no such feeling in Vista.  And i was really impressed when the dealer was saying something special about the Grande Punto, like when in any other car an oil change is required every 1o,000 KM in Punto it is required only after 30,000 km, when any other car is serviced on an interval of every 10,000 km Punto service is required only after 15,000 km etc. is it really correct, and is it a great hit abroad, i don't know.  anyone who may know may please comment

Service & maintenance cost of Punto is expected to be lower than others for the reasons pointed out by you & for its strong build-quality.

If one is looking at sheer practicality - the Vista fits the bill. It has lumbar support, a decent music system, power windows on all doors, tilt wheel, alloys, a chilled glove compartment and lots and lots of space. The plastics are average and the engine, gearbox and shock absorbers are all gr8 for India especially if driving within the city. All this for about 4.2 lakhs OTR. Having said that - the Swift Lxi for only slightly more is also a good car but doesn't have half the goodies. If you are just one guy driving to and from work - the i10 is your best bet - best in class interiors although owners of the Ritz might disagree. In order of preference, I would say

1. Vista

2. i10

3. Ritz

4. Swift

I haven't seen the Punto to comment on it but for 3.99 + tax - it just might be a better idea than the Vista. Cheers.

when in any other car an oil change is required every 1o,000 KM in Punto it is required only after 30,000 km,

That is possible in other cars as well if they use Synthetic Engine Oil - I somehow have this feeling that they are using Synthetic engine oil in the Punto - All the more so because in case of the diesel version, it shares the same engine with a lot of other cars like Swift / Vista which have a oil change interval of every 10000 kms (on standard mineral engine oil).

The synthetic oil is going to enhance the performance and has a longer life - But I recall reading it somewhere in carwale itself that it too has a few disadvantages over mineral oil.

Vista QJD Aura cost 530000/ - on road Surat where as GP Emotion Pack cost 668000/- on road Suart. Vista QJD doesn't have ABS , Dual Air bags , Blue & Me , 15 inch tyres with alloys. which is a better buy ? I am just waiting for test drive of GP . I am more inclined towards GP & will buy it in near future. Waiting for your suggestion.

Punto Active (1.2) is 4.33 lakhs on road in Delhi, i've checked up the prices from showroom and the list is right in front of me. Punto seems to be a great package, whicher model it is.  don't know about which one is having better build quality, Punto or Vista. Dealer is claiming both are on par, but considering the strong body of Fiat cars like palio i think punto would be better.
