The Jazz would compete with the i20/Fabia/Polo/Punto, the swift will be placed one strata below the Jazz.

Hello friends,

  I learnt that Honda Jazz woud be released on June 10th and the ex-showroom delhi price approximate cost would be Rs. 7 Lacs.

Pls check the link below :-

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/News/News-By-Industry/Auto/Automobiles/Honda-to-roll-out-Jazz-with-Rs-7-lakh-tag/articleshow/4480488.cms

I am really disappointed by this as many of the other friends on this forum would be by seeing the Price Tag. I am not sure why would somebody prefer spending Rs. 7 Lacs in a Premium Hatchback instead of a Sedan in the same price.

Post edited to provide direct link to the webpage.

This is the only website which has reported the ridiculous 7 lakh price tag - which would make it close to 8 lakhs on-road. This might be the case of the top line 1.4 liter model. However given that cars with engines below 1.3 Liters and smaller than 3800 or 3900 mm enjoy tax benefits - Honda would be committing harakiri if they price their base model at this price - what would their top model be then - 8 lakhs ex showroom; 9 lakhs on road. It is a nice car - it is not exactly a Mini Cooper or a PT Cruiser to shell out that kind of cash...

@Jvalant,

  Well we can just hope that the price is not the same as mentioned on the web link as if this is the case i don't think Honda can expect many customers in the Indian Market. As spending around 8 Lacs for the On Road Price on a Hatchback doesn't make any sense.

Also have a look at this thread/discussion.

@Pankaj.

Well thanks for pointing out about the another thread. I would request you to combine the 2 threads IF POSSIBLE as no point keeping 2 threads on the same topic. Thanks.

Yes, I appreciate & it did occur to me - but left it as it is, as it would loose continuation of discussion & counter-discussions due to participation-timing/dates of the two threads.  And also because the discussions in this thread switched-over on different perspective/platform.  It may not, therefore, be worth the entire exercise (tedious in this case).
