hi puneet.

i m also in the same confusion. honda cars r really over priced. u go n see new honda city, its interiors sucks. i have never seen honda at such a low level. dono r they mad or what..  even in top models, handles r not chrome layered in interiors. i mean for 9 lakh car above, it really bothered me, no alloys, bad interiors, no automatic climate control etc...  yes sitting n driving is surely best, better than fiesta n linea.

u know new model of fiesta is due, at the end of this yr, it is surely comming. linea is new but it is grossly underpowered. if u dont want power, than go for it, it is really heavy machine. good road presence n looks n one thing is looking fine, aftersales n all. fiat is bringing punto, bravo, very soon. fiat500 is already here to improve the brand image of fiat.  in 2010, alfa romeo n ferrari r also comming. brand image of fiat is surely going to increase.

u have to see if u want honda city or linea, i wil suggest u dont go for fiesta . it looks very small also especially if compared t linea. if u can afford leather uploestry(of stanlay) in new honda city fro outside, then buy honda city.  u know what i have finally booked linea in red n wil be having it in navratras.

best of luck for ur car, me too.       wil surely share my experience with linea after 29th.march ..  new hondacity didnt appeal to me finally so i deicided not to go for it... though its a good car but not for me. u decide for u what appeals u.

honda is again increasing prices so decide fast. honda  or linea. ????

n dont go for fiesta, my personal view.  this car is also  sort of cramped. more cramped than linea i guess.  honda is best in sitting comfort.

what do u say frineds???? on increasing prices of honda again which were already over priced???

Now, we are talking !  Great Topic.

To begin with, Don't go for Linea Petrol.

Now we all know that Linea is sluggish. Linea Diesel has good Power and shall be good a Pickup only after you've crossed an RPM of 2.5. If you'll be driving frequently on City Roads, Linea is not good for you. I'm from Mumbai and in Mumbai we drive most of the time at 1st and 2nd gears .  Yes ! its a boon if it happens for us to take it to 3rd or 4th inside the City. There will be lots of Speed Brakers & Traffic Signals. So every time you stop & drive, the Pick-up is very very bad. A frequent City Traveller will get frustrated. Linea Petrol is even worst - very Bad Pick-up + Very bad Response.

But Diesel Linea is great for Highways. It will leave all other Behind.

The Body of Linea is tough

Fiesta is a treat for City Drivers. Fiesta's Pickup & the Response are Excellent. (Both Petrol & Diesel). Even Fiesta's Body is tough.

Althogh the Sitting Comfort for Driver is not so good. Don't get confuse by Driver's Sitting Comfort & Drivng Quality. The Sitting comfort is the Best in AN Honda City.  Fiesta's seats are small and will not provide comfort for the Driver at long drives.

Fiesta has less space. 3 persons can't sit in the Rear.  Linea is having good rear space.

Fiesta's Turning Radius is 4.9. Linea is 5.5 - so for City drive, Linea is Better.

My Suggestion is go for  Fiesta SXI Petrol or Fiesta SXI Diesel. Both are value for Money.

Ford Fiesta (Petrol / Diesel): 8.5/10

Fiat Linea (Diesel): 7/10

Fiat Linea (Petrol): 6/10

7-8 rules out City. SX4 is also ruled out. (still do reconsider it)

I would say test drive Fiesta and Linea petrol. Do let us know what you feel and then we shall start discussing.

GO FOR A LINEA,I own one,a diesel one,but forme it's a chaeufeer driven,so iam not worried abt power, even other wise power is adequate

honda city is overpriced by atleast 2 lakhs,i though of test driving, but just sitting inside a city before drivng,i totally dislikes the lack of space fot this price and decided not even to go for a TD and booked a linea even without a Td ,just afterr feeling the space inside

again fiesta is a smaller car, much smaller than a linea, may be a little big on power, but space inside is sparce

Linea will not match the performance of Fiesta & SX4.  Verna is also good but not as much as the other two. Honda is outside the budget.

Choose between Fiesta & SX4. Take test-drives of both the cars with family (space/comfort) & go for the one that suits your preferences all in all.

I tend to disagree. I own a Linea Petrol, live in Mumbai, and am extremely satisfied with the way the car picks up. You just need to get used to it!! I definitely think the Linea is a great car to own.
