i wrote a long feedback on the i20 but this stupid carwale system did not take it....i dont have patience to write it again

This is the general experience when it happens. I have suffered umpteen times. Please note, nobody is going to be so dedicated as to compose in word/notepad and post EVERY time... Some choose to recompose, but it does not come out as good as the original generally. Some (most) walk away in disgust if the dumb system is not able to respect your hard work...

We need a fix for this soon. Its important.

I understand it would be better if the time-out limit is increased (others/I too face this problem).  But I would neither call the system stupid nor dumb.

Till the update comes through, as suggested before (elsewhere), please draft/type long & time consuming posts in Word & copy/paste it in the forums - in order to avoid inconveniences caused to our own selves.

... But I would neither call the system stupid nor dumb...

As stated elsewhere / in the thread concerned, I reiterate herein below on the above quoted portion...

I request if the problems/suggestions are put forth without using words/expressions that do not sound so polite - especially for the forum that we are a part of & has helped us in some or the other way.

I trust the concern is appreciated. No offence taken or meant.

Pankaj, thats just calling a spade a spade. We are weak where we are. Not that it would stop me from loving it as it is, like one loves own family, but unlike a truant teenager, the forum software does have the capability to change quickly, if there is a conscious effort to change for the better. No point in being mushy about it.

Believe me, I'm not being mushy about it.  I'm also not advocating in any way for the present system.  I do agree fully with Aditi & your concerns - my concerns too are same/identical.  It will benefit one & all.

And this is the way the forum has evolved until now & will evolve further.  My only request is that let's not use words that are not so polite. That's it.

I have already sent a message/link to Banwari.  He will respond soon/suitably.

Pankaj, when you write a long post and it doesn't get through, you are highly frustrated. In that state of mind, calling forum software 'dumb' is no big deal. It could have been worse, 'CarWale or people behind it could have been called dumb'. Lol.

Anyways, this is not a problem related to forum as such, it is a problem related to sessions overall. The sessions are reset once we cross a time-limit (I believe it should be 20 mins).

I too face a similar problem but I know the trick. If your post doesn't go through, press back button in browser and you will see your written post. Click the submit button again and yoi are done.

Anyways, we will work on the problem and get it solved asap.

CarWale Android App is launched. Download by searching for CarWale in Android Market on your phone or using this link: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.carwale

But in firefox and netscape I am getting a blank text space when I press back button. I am not aware it has something to do with my browser settings.

In firefox, it shouldn't happen as I am getting the message while clicking 'Back'.

Now a days I don't take chances and always copy to the clip board before posting.

As I love netscape I am using it even after aol dropped it. When I used firefox for a short period it was also not giving the message while clicking back button. I will check it again.

.... but I know the trick. If your post doesn't go through, press back button in browser and you will see your written post. Click the submit button again and yoi are done.

The other trick (I use)... select/copy the reply before posting it.  If it fails or the reply menu appears blank after using back button (like in case of Feroz), we can paste it & re-post.

These are interim methods suggested till upgrades come through.
