Why is Mahindra offering such steep discounts? Has the plug on the JV been pulled?

it may be this reason also & may be because the logan due to its looks has not picked up well in the indian market & sales are not satisfactory so for increasing sales & to attract customers they may have put this scheme.

As I understand, Logan is out for the reasons stated by Rohit - and, therefore, heavy discounts. As such, initially it looked quite promising but it somehow could never establish a market for itself.

This might be a stock clearance excercise, as they might be waiting to launch the facelifted version.

Mahindra has a reasonably wide network. But the Logan has to be the ugliest car on the roads unless it is next to a 118NE

"But the Logan has to be the ugliest car on the roads unless it is next to a 118NE"

Looks are deceptive and are of personal choice. I dont think both cars deserves to be called the ugliest cars.

Face-lifted version, in my opinion, may not to good to the market it has lost - should have established earlier.

Logan is not a very smart looking car, I would say.  It is otherwise a very comfortable & spacious car, fuel efficient & has one of the best suspensions.
