These brakes work well above 300deg C. Below this temperature the brakes don't function well. Thats why a Formula 1 driver does a warm up lap before he starts to race.

i was only responding to the above in bold which sounds like an 'all or none' statement-which in the contrary is not.

By the way the topic is on F1 and Bugatti and not on brakesWink and in that regard the tyres on the F1 car has a bigger role to play than the brakes.

Hehehe. English is a very funny language. The question was on brakes so I answered it that way. Wink

I tried this and I had understeer, I tried that and I had oversteer, at the end of the corner I just ran out of talent!

Also the gearbox of Veyron is 10 times faster than the F1 car's.....Actually veyron is more sought after car than F1 in terms that some parts are made of Magnesium instead of aluminium.....A buggati veyron costs $5 million to Buggati but they sell it for $1 million. At a massive loss....

The only reason VW made this car is because they wantes to make something faster than Ferrari...Something this world hasn't seen....

And they did it....It's just stunning....

well dont think the gearbox on the F1 car is slower than the Veyron, about the use of exotic materials the F1 car still stands ahead(there is a lot of magnesium and composite on the F1 car).

What really sets the Veyron apart is that with all that performance its still road regal, has space for two people and their luggage!

Yes VW does loose money on the veyron!

Magnesium? Aluminium? An F1 car's body is made up of carbon fibre which is lighter than aluminium and magnesium and stronger as well. An F1 engine weighs less than 100kgs.Between (95-100 kgs). Talking about the gearbox, F1 titanium gearbox is again superior.

Bugatti has no comparison with an F1 car. This may sound exaggerated but it is true. F1 is a racing car and Veyron is a super car.
