Hello,

I am looking for purchasing a new Tata Safari BS IV 4 x4 version.

Would like to get your advice on this.

I do love long driving and I am based on Kolkata.

No where I could find detailed discussion of 4 x4 version of Tata Safari. So can anybody who have experienced this feature

After going through all the posts in different forums I am bit confused. There are people who just have voted against Tata Safari. At the same time there are posts that clearly says Tata safari is a clear winner.

I am specifically looking forward to have information on how reliable is this car? By this I mean that what is the probability of sudden breakdown or malfunction of major components during a long drive.

I also want to know the comfort level inside and the specifically about the suspension system.

Ccan any body who has driven the 4 x 4 one share his experience with this feature?

I also have heard that Tata motor after sales customer service is up to the mark. Tata users can you please comment on this. Am I bound to service my car from the workshop owner by the dealer from whom I have bought this car? Or like other car makers I can choose any authorized service station for servicing my car.

Lastly if any Kolkata based Tata safari owner is viewing this post I have a specific question for you. Can you please suggest me which dealer to be approached for a hassle free transaction?

Thanks in advance.

Full Throttle Vs. Predator Dunes

Check out the above link - You will find few pictures and videos of Tata 4x4 vehicles performing. Yours truly was also one of the drivers for those ad shoots.

Also search out for article by Sabreesh in carwale where he has also tested safari 4x4.

The car is very good and very comfortable. I had safari for 3 years but it was 2wd drive and have done trips like Delhi - Mumbai on this vehicle without feeling tired.

In terms of 4x4 this vehicle was a surprise  to me. It has got enough torque to propel it any where. Never seen any major component failing anytime.

You can get your vehicle serviced from any authorised  work shop that wont be an issue.

Thanks Rahul for the post. I am going through the pictures. These are simply amazing.

Surely I am looking for some offraod drives with the safari.

I have already covered West Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi from Kolkata with my little WagonR. I had been to Rogtang Pass that too from Kolkata.

Hopeful to have some more great experience with the new Safari. Plan is to go to Leh, Ladak, Tabo Pass.

Thanks a lot.

Hello Rahul,

I was going through various posts regarding launch of New Safari and it is obvious from the news that the new safari named merlin is going to be launced soon with new look and specifically improvements is brake, suspension and interior.

It seems that the merlin is going to have all disk brakes.

So I am planning to wait for the same.

As you are having good contacts, can you throw some light on the launch date and new features of Tata Safari Merlin?

Thanks and regards,

Souvik.
