Change of my old car Insurance to New car

Friends,

i have an Ikon which is insured with Reliance for the last three years.  Since there was no Claim from the starting itself, i got the NCB.

Now iam planning to sell the car and buy a new Dzire.  Is it possible to change my NCB to the new car? if it is possible i can save some good money as it is the 3rd/4th cons. year without claim. What can i do for that? how much percentage will get as NCB? (New car premium is around 12500/-)

Thank you

In your case (completed 3 years), the NCB for the 4th year would work out to 45% (of Total Own Damage Premium).  The same is transferable to your new car/policy.  You will need to provide evidence of the old car/policy transferred in the buyer's name.

Iam about to purchase the new vehicle.  And iam going to sell my old car which has a 3rd PARTY INSURANCE ONLY. Is it possible to transfer my NCB (3 Years) to new car?

What should i take care at the time of the selling of the old car for getting that?

3rd Party Insurance does NOT earn any NCB.

Never heard of NCB on 3rd party insurance.  May be, it could be NCB of comprehensive policy of the previous to previous year.  Since when do you have the 3rd party insurance?

Since 2007, i went for 3rd pary only. Last year only (2009August) i came to know about NCB and asked for NCB.  Suddently he agreed and calculated!!!!!!

May be they gave some other discount in the name of NCB to mislead me.

Anyway, my plan to catch some money from my new Dzire insurance became a big flop.Innocent

As I have stated before... never ever heard of NCB on 3rd party cover.  Also, I understand, no discounts are offered on the same.  Some confusion Undecided

Discuss/check with the service provider / agent.
