Chevrolet Spark Accident

6 months back one of my friend bought Spark Muzic (Blazing Red). Yesterday night he met with an accident. Tried to avoid a girl who came infront of him all of sudden on her activa, he was over 50-55kmph (may be more), turned the car left and smashed into a Bolero from left side. Bolero too damaged badly. Major accident but only minor injury on upper lips (Steering) because he was driving without seat belt (His fault).

Front left badly damaged, steering, Instrumental cluster (dash) too broken from inside.

I enquired about prices of few parts

1. Front Bumper = 1058/-

2. Dash=3935

3. Front headlamp=2485/-

I feel Build quality is good.

People dont change when you tell them that there is a Better option... They change when they realise that there is No Other Option..

Looking at the car ,one would imagine the people inside would have been badly injured, but as you have already mentioned he escaped with a minor injury.

I must agree, build quality is really good.

Its certainly has excellent built quality.Looking at the pictures,only the body looks damaged with no mechanical damage.Thank god everyone is safe.

Car looks horrible, feel sorry for it.

What about the bonet? will it be replaced or repaired? cost??

I doubt the build quality, this crash looks as if the car was doing 100kmph. I can also see damage to the chasis.

Another Update:

Yesterday I was there in the workshop with my friend and today I visited again for claim formality for myself Had an accident in the morning Brother is in delhi thats why using Spark only since last 3 days and around 11 am when I was on my way towards office and traffic was smooth, suddenly I saw 800 infront of me is stopped, Tried to avoid but distance between both the cars was nothing, I applied brakes (saw tyre marks on road, hardly 3-4 ft.) Smashed the 800, 800 smashed Indica from back and Indica smashed the Swift. Mistake of Swift driver, applied brakes all of sudden in smooth traffic, Indica damaged from front (slightly) and back and 800 damaged badly from front & rear, My car damaged from the front.

Damage: Bumper damage, Bonut Damage, Fog lamps nakke, Front headlamp (left side) screw plastic broken. I switched on the car, started, checked a.c. ...was working, My cousin came and when He checked he told me see Radiator is having damage here, He tried to show me the point by pressing his car's key and liquid started flowing. Means Radiator too is damaged. No Damage to chasis or suspension, I drove the car and I could see the bonet which is up otherwise no problem at all in Car. I was checking temperature but temp. was normal (hear half way mark). I drove over 30 kms Hussain Ganj to Gomti Nagar and Gomti Nagar to Kursi Road, left the car there

Forgot to enquire about the Bonet (2nd year thats why I have to pay 10%+5%) and Radiator: 3035/- Important point My insurance is from New India and Radiator is a metal part but for ICICI Lombard its a Plastic Part (Why?).

Now I will check how much time they will take. Lets see the Service of GM India's Lucknow service centre Megha Auto. Here comes A.S.S. part.

@Milind: Bonet will be replaced, I forgot to ask the price. Will enquire and upadate for sure, My bonet is also Damage

@ Adam: My friend told me Bolero stopped his car, not the brakes. And speed, I think instead of brakes he pressed accelerator (He is a New Driver and still using a driver but driver was on leave because of Diwali).

GM motors use best quality material for thier cars whether it is saint gobin glasses,or steal etc that why i bought spark because when i saw other company cars they only has thier own engine and body and most of other parts are outsourced so man thanks to spark good build which causes you little damage with the grace of almighty god

@Rajiv Ive heard lot of bad reviews on New India Insurance, so be alert!
