dude why esteem man. you can buy some other car!! i dont think paying 3 lacs is a good idea, especially an esteem.

i will tell you why, one of my neighbour has an esteem he is trying to get rid of it. its spotless too but its old man. he complains that no one is ready to pay even 1.5 lacs for his esteem. so i hope you get my point.

there will be other deals too man why in a hurry. its your decision in the end and its upto you.

Please check the resale value of Esteem here. It still commands one of the highest resale value.

A 2003 Esteem VXi for 2.35 Lacs.

I myself have purchased a used 2003 Esteem VXi from Shaman for 2 Lacs - 50000 kms done. Excellent condition.

I have used the Esteem for more than 2500 kms - excellent value, rich interiors, EXCELLENT Engine, road grip is also EXCELLENT, driving is superb, MILEAGE - 13 kmpl in city WITH A/C.

What more do you require??

What you get is an excellent deal - a 2006 Esteem only 12500 kms done - GREAT.

But 1 thought is that a person who has run only 12000 kms in 4 years - why did he install a LPG kit????  Please check thoroughly - as this seems fishy.

Otherwsise, its a great deal.

Ritesh-how long do you plan to use the car?

If its more than 5 years avoid the car-for 2-3years the deal would be good at 2.5lacs.

However good the car, one does not pay more than the market value of the car!

http://www.carwale.com/mycarwale/carvaluation/MyValuations/Valuation.aspx?id=6732746

The valuation tool says that the value should be Rs.3,08,000/- for a Good Condition car. If the condition is excellent, the value will be  Rs.3,20,000/-.

If LPG kit is added, the value rises by say Rs.10,000/-

Try to bargain till Rs.2,65,000/- to Rs.2,75,000/-.

HOWEVER, A PERSON HAS INSTALLED AN LPG KIT AND IS HAVING SO LESS RUNNING - SOMETHING FEELS FISHY.

Get the car thoroughly checked by good mechanic, see the service records - and if good - you can go ahead till Rs.2,90,000/-.

i agree withu all that 12k is quite less , the car does not look worn out at all ( even under the bonnet ) but as correctly said about lpg kit , i will be checking every thing again before taking any decision , thanks to u guys i am equipped with lot of checkup tricks ,

i'm also offered a baleno fully loaded with lpg 2002 with around 45k done , the asking price is 1.9 but has a lot of scope for bargain , what u guys say ?

PS ; if nothing suits me i will be going for new alto lxi as it will also suit my needs n budget .

which is better option , i'm a doctor by profession , around 12oo- 1500 kms around a month .

a new driver i need it for my wife n two kids, elder one being 3.

suggest.

Hi

I would say dump the idea of a old car and go for Spark or Alto.

The above cars will suits ur requirements perfectly.

For ur usage u can consider a diesel

U can consider Indica V2 Tdi also.

A new car is better any day than a second hand car

I would say go for a new car

u know guys best thing about , talking at this forum is that one not only get unbiased opinion but a friendly attitude too , keep going !

actually i very much decded on spark ps lpg , deal for 3.6 l plus central locking , but dropped it on poor resale plus when i talked to their marketing head at mumbai , he told me that they r definately launching a stripped version of 800 cc of spark n i was not convinced what will exactly happen to this spark 1.0 , also he was not much forthcoming on beat , so i dropped spark .

i feel indica will be a bit overbudget for me !

guys, u have been a great help !

well personally i still feel Spark, at this point of time is complete value for money.

3 yrs minimum maintainence.

Pls its got the most advanced LPG kit, as of now. The change over is hardly felt in the SPark.
