driving Direction from Bangalore to Puttaparthi and Road Condition

I did this trip last weekend. Drive is awesome. From Hebbal, it is about 90 kms of NH7 and another 40 Kms of Andhra state highway. Both roads are good. From the new airport, Puttaparthi is a 1.5 hrs drive. Bangalore people can add the time it takes to reach airport from their respective starting points.

There is only one decent food plaza, Kamat, which comes at around the 50 Kms mark from Hebbal. Apart from that, there will not be any places to eat so better plan accordingly. Enough petrol stations. The lone toll booth charges Rs.60 one way and Rs.90 for return trip.

You have to take the NH-7. The road is superb. The total distance from ITPL to Puttaparthi is 165 kms.

The way is like this: ITPL-> hebbal->Devannahalli->Diversion from NH-7 -> Puttaparthi

You need to cross a toll gate on this way. The diversion from NH-7 is around 10 kms after the toll gate. This road is bit narrow but still in good condition. We hired a Qualis, driver was able to drive in 80 KMPH speed comfortably. I visited last saturday. Its highly recommended for driving.

One suggestion is to start bit early in the morning, so that you can see the main samadhi before 10:30 or else you will need to wait till 4:00 P.M. for the samadhi darshan.
