That is a nice update. Happy to see 9887 in the list.

Waiting for the pics and impressions/review.

Dont play the songs at high volumes for now. Let the speakers break-in well.

Zeitgeist,

Best - A difficult question. There are lots of good installers in Bangalore.

Nice and good budget over there.

Please do create a new thread mentioning your requirement as there is another discussion undergoing here. I hope you understand the concern.

Where are the gains on the amp set? I assume the setup is in passive mode. Did you get a chance to do a/b?

I have no clue, to be very frank. How do I find out?

By the way Pankaj called to bring the car for one more hour. He says he was in hurry that night and could not do tuning up to his satisfaction. He wants to do a little more.

Ask Pankaj to set the gains at not higher than 10 o'clock. He will know what to do. If you are using the xovers and the comps are connected to the front amp ch's, ask him to bypass xover at the amp for front channels. From your hu set the sub/mid xover point to either 63 or 80hz max. Then ask him to do the tuning. Put the sub and mids on the highest slope the hu gives you.

The gains for your rear channel which are bridged to run your sub, should be under 12 o'clock.

Good luck.

@Arun,

Thanks. I will go to him sometime next week. Will show this post of yours to him.

@Ami,

Will click more snaps as and when time permits. HU pics and amplifier/sub placements are remaining.

Tweeters went in stock locations as far as I remember. In Civic tweeter location is extremely close to windscreen in both extreme corners.

Arun,

Would you help me understand the following:

1. Despite of double dampening, the left front door is vibrating, especially at slightly higher volume and on a bassy song.

2. When we listen to a song as mentioned in point #1, the cabin lights (if on) flicker a bit. Flickering occurs when subwoofer kicks in (at peak bass). Pankaj says, it's fine as it happens only at high volumes and very bassy songs. Can be ignored!

3. There is bass at very low volumes (3-5 level) but the overall music (including bass) sound very unexciting. Things start to sound better and inspiring when the volume level is turned to 9+.

4. Do you have slightest of the feeling that the Eclipse EA4100 amplifier is not enough alone? And maybe we need a separate mono/2-ch amp for sub?

5. Do you think we should upgrade the sub to 10-inch? There is enough tight bass but there is no thump/feel in the bass. It's very very plain!

6. My friend feels he needs speakers in the rear because the sound is not good enough for rear passengers. Pankaj suggests we get Morel Tempos in the rear as well as it will keep the sound signature identical. Earlier he had suggested Illusion Electras for the rear!

The extra kharcha or upgrade will be done next month or so.

My 2 cents.

4. The amp is just about fine. It will suffice for the time being. Mono will always make things better.

5. Defenitely. I would say even think of a 12''.

6. If there aren't many rear seat passengers then chuck the idea or just put a round co-ax.
