hi like my topic suggests im wondering which one is the best overall car keeping price, maintainence, safety, fuel economy, ride and handling and performance in mind.

Baleno LXi. Very low at maintenance, is cost-effective, fuel economy, handling, ride, performance and resale are good.

i just found out something very interesting regarding the baleno...its being discontinued in 2007, discounts on the vehicle range from 80000 to 90000. spare parts are usually not available.

Its not being discontinued in 2007, in fact it has been officially discontinued already, they are merely clearing the stocks hence huge discounts. As far as spare-availability is concerned, I don't think it should be a problem. Maruti 1000 was discontinued 5-6 years ago but we can still find its spares. Still if you are too wary about it, don't go for Petra either as the current Petra too is being replaced with a new/improved version and after-sales-services, resale of Fiat cars are bad. The only option is Fiesta then!
