I am serving Army Officer presently posted near Siliguri, West Bengal. My job is transferable & hardly few months left at this place. As for central Govt & Defense personnel, registeration can be done at one place i.e. native place due to transferable nature of jobs.
I buy a car here at Siliguri and dealer records my intended address of registration of Andhra Pradesh in purchase invoice. Dealer gets me Ty registeration done here in West Begal for 1 month costing Rs 3500. He hands over me all required documents of Ty Regdn, Sale/Purchase Invoice and Vehicle certificate of Road worthy & Inspection certificate by RTO. I forward these all documents to Andhra Pradesh either by post or through some relative before expiry of 1 month and provide Address Proof there and pay life time Road Tax there in Andhra Pradesh. The registeration of vehicle is ought to be completed and I will retain the vehicle in West Begal, till the time I am here and carry along to any other place when on posting. I don't have to pay anything thereafter.
The confusion here is that whether vehicle is required to be taken to Andhra Pradesh physically. Dealer here is damn sure that it is new vehicle and once address of Andhra Pradesh is mentioned, then vehicle is not required to be taken. After all the relevant documents like vehicle inspection reports etc are accompanying along.
Same time some other friends says, yes the vehicle is required to be taken along to Andhra pradesh. Is there any relevant circular on the subject? Please suggest what is correct?
Thanks
